I spent a solid hour in the livery editor tonight working on a tribute to Porsche's 1998 Le Mans winner.

Of course, in the last 5 minutes of that hour, I discovered you can duplicate a decal on the opposite side, thereby eliminating the tremendous pain in the ass of aligning everything by eye.

With maintenance being imminent, I will pick this up tomorrow.

Getting gold on that 1-lap challenge for Yamagiwa is tough! I'm down to 1:43.779 but not enough! So many places where it's essy to lose time on this track, it really demands precision.

Also, is it just me or are the servers still up?

Great to have a new place which we can call "home". Just had my first win yesterday. N200 is a great series to start in. Gr. 3 and 4 is still too fast for me in sports mode to be competitive over a whole course

well, it worked for me ;) You had plenty of time to use the slipstream and glide through the field (started 3rd).

Before the oval race, it was N200 on Kyoto Driving Park. It was also great fun! But no win, only a bunch of 2nd places.

This freaking game. I rear ended someone out of the track and I felt so bad I gave them back their position lol. What has this game done to me?

I didn't even do a race tonight, just spent time doing the Circuit Challenge for Yamagiwa. Never could get gold on the lap, but got it down to 1.41 something I think. Not sure where I can shave off another second. I did a few qualifying laps on it in Sport mode with the GT-R setup from gtplanet, but it only cut a couple seconds off my time. I have no idea how the top 10 is 8 seconds faster than my time, my mind boggles at that. Even though I'm applying the circuit challenge tips to this, I'm obviously not fast enough.

Yeah, I'm okay with the scapes and race photos going in here as long as we limit to 3 per post or something.

I golded all the training sessions and circuit experiences, but man, 4-4 on the challenges is a pain in the ass. Threading a Veyron between cars at speed is like trying to navigate a boat around a swimming pool. Managed 249.8 mph in the end after about 10 tries.

Man, I love this game. It's just the right package for a racing sim that a lot of people who can't afford to drive real cars on a track or build an PC racing sim to feel the experience of racing with others and learn the the tricks to driving a car and pushing a car to its limits.

The single player campaign is great at teaching and the online is a great place to learn motorsports and maybe some of us will get to be pros because of it.

It is disappointing that the game has been judged based on its previous releases and other racing games particularly as a collectathon game which it isn't but the critics can't look beyond that.

Anyway, I've ordered a Thrustmaster GT-T wheel and also the official Playseat racing pod for PlayStation. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Is the days logged on achievement glitched for anyone else? It's currently giving me the "You've almost completed this Achievement!" notification, but i've logged in for 9 days and the first level is 7.

I haven't logged in yet today but I was getting the exact same issue yesterday.

Good to know that it's not just on my end. I've unlocked a few achievements since then hoping that it would trigger that one to unlock, but no luck. Guess they'll have to patch it.

Has anyone tried the Blue Moon One Make Sport Mode event? I've managed to pull my time down to a 1:06.973, but somehow there are people in the 105's, and I don't have the slightest clue of how they're getting picking up a second on that track. There's only one corner where you even have to lift/brake, but I don't see how i'm losing that much time there.

Really enjoy the Hockenheim race, though I do wish we would have been forced to make a pitstop. But I assume that will happen later down the road.

On another note, it appears that Thrustmaster is going to sell the Sparco wheel and TS-PC racer wheel. Cannot wait to get my hands on the Sparco wheel!

Ran into my first dirty driver in Sport Mode. On the final straight at Blue Moon on the last lap he decided to brake out of nowhere in order to try to abuse the penalty system and add time to my lap. Luckily the game seemed to notice what he was doing and didn't penalize me.

Hi All! I can see the Sunhi gif just fine. It is really a beautiful thing.
I have not touched the game in 5 days because of the transition lol. Time to go back to fight (for racing in the most polite and efficient way)!

It mentions that you can post OT's in the main thread if the game is new and they'll move it here after a few weeks. So you could PM a mod and ask if this thread can be moved to the main thread since GTS is only a week old.

I've been playing this for a few hours, and I'm still a bit confused about some aspects.

For single player, are the missions, driving school, and track "familiarity" the only things to do?

It seems like all 3 of these modes require you to use a pre-selected car. Are there any single player activities where you can use a car you purchased/won?

Some missions ask you to use a garage car, but apart form that the only single-player activity where you can use your own cars is the Arcade mode. If you're into multiplayer (I highly recommend it for this game), you can use your own cars in Sport mode and lobbies

Do you gain xp/credits/etc playing arcade mode?

I've PM'd a mod about moving us to main. If we follow the 4 weeks rule, we still have close to 3 weeks of prime time livin'!

Yeah, they have either toned down SR system, because it was way too harsh or algorithms have adapted. But it feels a lot more fair. Yesterday, I wasn't dinged because guy ahead of me breaked early, I wasn't dinged for getting used like a break pad by the guy behind me. People are also getting used to system.

Spending way too much time taking pics.
It's not always easy with Scapes though. Sometimes the car looks out of place, you can see too clearly that this is a 3D model and the background is not.
