Dark Souls - Solaire of Astora Amiibo available to pre-order from Bandai Store (EU)

I just received an email from Bandai Namco Eu announcing that the Solaire of Astoria Amiibo is available for pre-order now.

It's available for €19.99* in strictly LIMITED QUANTITIES and ships from the 25th of May, 2018. I believe shipping is €24.99 (tracked).

Thanks to Gradon, we know you are charged immediately upon placing the order, so keep that in mind before you complete checkout.

I can't justify the shipping costs, but I wanted to share this in hope that fellow Europeans can take advantage of this before the scalpers.

Can you imagine the shit someone like Microsoft or EA would be getting if they sold a figure for $20 to unlock an emote?!

Not surprised they're price gouging. It's either this or the over $200 F4F statue if you want a physical Solaire collectible.

Good grief is that shop a hassle, and why the heck do they say my CC isn't a valid card? Like ... i just ordered something on Amazon with just this card and it's not even close to any limit, more like down to almost nothing right now.

If i get an order for 2 units on any european Amazon division in, i'm cancelling this order. Bamco needs to reconsider many things with their online shop.

Pre-ordered two of them for me and a friend, so it's 5 bucks shipping for each of us.
Maybe Amazon or some other retailer will list him, then I'll cancel my pre-order at Bandai.
For now I'll keep it as a backup.

Oh and Bandai, don't dare you to pull an Estus Flask replica level of quality on this one.

I think people would actually hate them less, since amiibos are high quality figures that people genuinely value and adore. The effect ingame is just a bonus, really
Microtransactions for emotes feels soulless, but an amiibo is something of actual, tangible worth and value. I think they should consider adopting the concept honestly

I can't possibly imagine the turmoil that would follow a repeat of the Estus Flask incident.

If i'm not mistaken, Nintendo is responsible for the production of Amiibos, if that's the case the quality control should be ok. Early Amiibos were wonky as heck (looking at you Marth), but the latest ones are pretty solid with good details and all.

So the only way to get that emote is through that Amiibo? We had pre-order only stuff and even specific stores and services exlusive stuff. Now we have Amiibo only stuff. Great. More ingame stuff existing in the game that we can't access in the future.

The official description states that the Amiibo allows you to do the gesture at any time. Nowhere does it say the gesture is locked to the Amiibo.

No ... you can get the emote in the game. It's either a reward for doing Solaire's "questline" or for joining the Warriors of Sunlight covenant.

Or was it something else? Can't remember right now.

E: I think it was given to you when you first interact with the Altar of Sunlight in the area after the dragon on the bridge in the Undead Parish.

Thanks for the clarification. Otherwise this would have been absurd. I hate when they lock certain ingame content behind some purchase conditions. Now the Amiibo is a good extra option any fan could get without being forced to.

It's aight, I pre-ordered knowing it was a possibility. I just wanted to order one and see if I could get one cheaper elsewhere :')
