Thanks for the info. It's a cash cow for AMC that's tapering off, but they don't have any need to shake things up in the short term. It'll be on for a long while yet. I do wonder what what prompt them to eventually end the series - if it'll be ratings malaise or something else. The live ratings are considerably lower y-o-y, but the L+7 numbers have been on a more measured decline for the past several seasons now. Big drops in the live ratings make for flashy headlines, but the show is still doing extremely well - it's just rapidly losing its water cooler status.
Also, I'd be really curious to see how well the show is doing on Netflix - how many people are just waiting for the newest season to drop so they can binge it.
I was just searching for info y'day but it seems there isn't any. I take that to mean it could be pushed back but I dunno. No trailer either as you said.So any idea when Scream Season 3 will hit? It says march 2018 but no trailer or nuttin.
I enjoyed it, watched through all 8 seasons. There are better shows out there, but it's good popcorn CW fun.
At first wasn't as much a fan of Caroline, but she got to be one of my favorites in the last half of the series. I think it would be a huge mistake to recast her. I don't see Julie Plec doing so unless it was her only option. My only concern is with Candice being married and mother of a young girl, there is always that possibility she may not want to commit the time. I hope that wouldn't be the case. And hopefully we'll find out soon enough.
They were too busy turning the Bachelor finale into a 5-hour/2-night event to be bothered with shows that score half the ratings.
Last week's Season 2 premiere of FX's Atlanta, dubbed Atlanta Robbin' Season, scored 1.8 million total viewers in Live+3 numbers, the network said today. The series — which won the Best Comedy Series Golden Globe and Best Actor Emmy for Glover for Season 1 and returned March 1 after almost 18 months — drew 1.3 million viewers in the adults 18-49 demographic, up 7% over the Season 1 premiere and almost 10% over the series' Season 1 average. FX says that marks the best basic cable primetime scripted comedy telecast in more than a year.
FX does not report Live+Same Day ratings but said the time-shifted viewing grew 123% in viewers and 109% in the demo. In all, the network said the premiere was seen by 2.7 million total viewers in Live+3 including the premiere, two encore airings and streaming. Those numbers are expected to grow: The first season of the FX Productions-produced series averaged 5.2 million total viewers across all platforms.
Thanks for posting this - we were discussing this in post #3625 and a few after if you want to see the recent discussion of this. The Vampire Diaries' star Matt Davis joins The Originals spin-off

And to illustrate just how true this is:The Office and Black Panther star has shot a pilot for the BBC and FX network in the US with Michael Gambon and Uncle's Daisy Haggard.
Breeders is written by Simon Blackwell, creator of Back and a writer on The Thick of It and Veep, and is directed by The Inbetweeners' Ben Palmer.
The plot remains unknown but was originated by Freeman.
They shot an entire high profile pilot and we're hearing about this now.Shot in London in January, with locations including a tapas restaurant in Twickenham, the pilot will not be broadcast.
The CW is expanding its summer programming slate with the acquisition of The Outpost, a 10-hour fantasy-adventure series from Dean Devlin's Electric Entertainment and Arrowstorm Entertainment. The series will air on Syfy channels outside the U.S. The CW will announce the U.S. premiere night and time at a later date.
...
Created by Arrowstorm's Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin, The Outpost follows Talon (Jessica Green, Ash vs Evil Dead), the lone survivor of a race called "Blackbloods." Years after her entire village is destroyed by a gang of brutal mercenaries, Talon travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world, as she tracks the killers of her family. On her journey to this outpost, Talon discovers she possesses a mysterious supernatural power that she must learn to control in order to save herself, and defend the world against a fanatical religious dictator.
Caroline is best character. Really hope she'll be in the new spin off but she probably won't. Julie won't recast, they'll just say she has gone on a trip or something. And then Matt Davis is running the school with some buddies. Are you a fellow VD fan? Glad to know that, I don't think that ever came up at the old place.
I can't possibly imagine they would recast Caroline. I think they'd kill off a character before recasting them...hopefully not just wishful thinking on my part. (Caroline's one of my favorite VD characters - no one else can play her.)
I found S4 to be a return to form. The shortened season really tightened up the pacing and I really liked the storyline. It also just had a beautiful ending.Preaching to the choir. Kai was such a great villain. I liked Lily and the Phoenix Stone business quite a bit, too. Low point for me is S5 though it still has a lot of good stuff.
As to Originals, 2>1>3=4. Last two seasons have been a slump and bore.
ABC has given an early second-season renewal to its hit rookie The Good Doctor. The move is not brain surgery: the drama is the network's most-watched freshman series in 13 years. The number of episodes has not been disclosed but star Freddie Highmore's contract calls for 18-episodes seasons at the most.

Also, The Vampire Diaries / The Originals is the best TV show to have ever graced my television. I still remember running a fansite, those were the good old times.
I don't know if I agree that there are better shows out there, but I guess that is my massive fandom for the show showing. :) I totally see what you're saying about Candice King BTW and I'm glad her character grew on you so much over the course of the show. She is definitely grating when we're first introduced to her but I really warmed up to her as one of the best characters and most consistently written as well. I feel like if Candice King cannot commit the time, Plec will kill her off or make a magical plot device render her an occasional guest star. You think she'd ever recast against those alternates? Maybe I'm being naïve in not thinking so.
Weird, why 18 episode limit? Does he work on something else? Or does he just not want to grind on a TV set?
To be honest, I think they are gonna end Caroline's arc in The Originals S5 and write her off so she don't have to appear in the Hope spin-off. Klaus will probably be off too if the show he just signed up for will be a success. Just gut feelings.
Yeah I was expecting that lol. I'm not a devoted watcher of the show, but it's good for background noise if anything.
Im an episode behind but I hope they keep that new male doctor, one of the few elements I like.
Since when is .7 considered bad (dark orange) for Flash? I though it's been getting that for a bit now. Although I believe Black Lightning dropped a bit? I think it was around .6 or .7 last week. Little disconcerting Lethal Weapon dropped a bit, would love to see that stay solidly above one. Now that is a well written show and one of my favorites.
Colors are based on day by day basis compared to other shows on all networks.
Good, the premiere was great and I'm glad more people are paying attention to it.
Any word on Lethal Weapon's fate? This season has had steady viewership, but overall it's much lower than last season and has shown no growth.
Honestly, I kind of hope it's canceled. It's not very good and I'd much rather see a Lethal Weapon 5 written and directed by Shane Black (Richard Donner is too old for it now)

Wow. They are gunning for The Good Fight, but I feel pretty confident that The Good Fight > Pantsuits (or whatever they'll call it) just as The Good Wife >>> Suits. Also, something tells me Suits won't be a two simultaneous show franchise for long.USA Network's Suits is officially a franchise with two shows. The network has given a series order to a spinoff from the long-running legal drama, which is toplined by the mothership series' alumna Gina Torres and centers on her 'Suits' character, powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson, as she enters the dirty world of Chicago politics.
...
Suits and its spinoff will co-exist as the mothership series recently was renewed for an eighth season without two of its original stars, Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle. Returning cast members Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty will be joined by Dulé Hill, who is being promoted to a series regular after recurring this season, and new addition Katherine Heigl.

Has there been any word on The Librarians? The last episode aired a while ago but I haven't heard if it's been renewed or cancelled.
Bad news, The Librarians has just been cancelled.

Do you mean The Brave? Also whatever happened to that other Navy Seal show with the more multi-ethnic team?
Oh really? I don't even remember how it ended. lolDo you mean The Brave?
if so it returned from Winter break and finished its season. The season order was only 13 episodes.
Ratings after the break were terrible so its probably cancelled.
