I love this man. Bless you Lab Zero. I know now for sure my trust in backing this was not misplaced.

I mean Baozhai and Toko and the diverse cast did already but. Ren compounds it.

Damn, all of those characters look so good. Tzitzi especially looks great. With her and Garuda Cruel this game's really nailing things on the antagonist side.

So Tenoch is no more? I can't say those brothers are a worthy replacement at first glance. I also this means they aren't playable. Otherwise Kaanul sounds cool!

The Baz was supposed to be a backer boss right? I figured you be working on those later/next to last but what do I know. He looks cool!

God I can't wait to play new Valkyrie Profile.

And, serious for a second: how the hell is it possible that companies with hundreds of millions of dollars can't make games half as good looking? (I think maybe I'm just not the target audience of AAA games anymore... though I genuinely can't tell who is.)

Just caught up on all the news, REN and those sexy animations are great, excellent work.

Kaanul looks interesting too, be interested in seeing how that is gameplay wise when implemented.

I was really confused by the thread title, so I dove right into it and can't stop looking at the concept art.
The + markers, the guides, animations of characters lacking either limbs, color or both, the way they look being changed - I somehow appreciate the creators' work waaaaay more as I can see how it all comes to life from ground up.

So yeah, day one!

Personally, I think one of the biggest problems facing the game industry and the lack of understanding, price, etc. is that we've done a terrible job showing how games are made. And that translates to people not fully appreciating the insane amount of work that goes into making a game.

We also just enjoy doing it. And we really wish we could show more without spoiling the game.

You're still aiming for a Fall/End of Year 2018 release right? With a bit over 10 months left in the year are you suggesting only about 10 playable incarnations are left to be detailed (I've lost count of how many we are at right now)?

Edit: Found it. Uh, no idea who that is supposed to be, since it's (really awesome) fan art. It's not an unannounced character or anything, though. This is the first I've seen or heard of it.

And now I wish it wasn't sold out!

He did all the designs, and is doing a fair amount of animation himself.

I love the charged attack/guard break sound effect hahaha.

Any word on whether the team is considering making it more visually obvious if an attack is a grab vs a strike? That's what I struggled with the most in the recent demo.

If juggles gives bars, is there something specific to gain to focus on ground combos ? Great improvements by the way, uneven terrains made my jaw drop to the floor

It might have been a simple issue from simply not spending hours with the game where later it'd be more recognizable, but since a grab attack required more precise timing than a regular block and I don't recall the enemy providing a visual cue that it was going to be a grab, combined with the fast reaction timing required in more mob heavy battles I just failed them more often than not. If there is a visual indicator I was too concerned with what was on screen to notice it.
