Anyone been able to start the episode on PS4? I was able to download it by searching on the store, but there is no option to actually play it. Only getting the three main episodes to show up after selecting "episodes" in the main menu.
Ok just saw on twitter that there is a patch coming within the hour to resolve this on PS4.
No, the patch that unlocks the episode is still missing on PS4.

Ok so I finished the bonus episode. Here are my thoughts:
Let's start with the happy stuff. I really liked that we got to do the pirate adventure! I had really been hoping this whole time that it would be a pirate adventure that we got to go on, and that is exactly what it was! Yes!
I loved looking through Chloe's room at the start, and how she wouldn't let Max throw anything away haha. The choose your own adventure book they wrote was super cute too haha loved playing through that.
Exploring the Price house one last time was great. And the backyard stuff was awesome too. I loved the part playing with the ball and calling each other names, and then Chloe is all like "You're the best, Max" and they hugged.
The time capsule was fun too. I remember doing something similar to that with a friend of mine.
Now though, here's the sad stuff.
Once we were back inside the house, I realized what day it was, and I was like, god fucking dammit, now I know how this episode is going to end. I saw the photo in the kitchen, the photo. And then all of the dishes left over from that morning, and I knew exactly what day it was.
I waited until the end to tell Chloe about moving too. That was when I first started crying, because Max was clearly so broken up about it. And then, yeah, the ending starts right after that of course, and the tears kept on rolling the whole way through. I was just sobbing during the whole ending. Seeing Chloe break down with Joyce, the funeral scene, Max in the back of her parents car and driving away, the last time she would ever see Chloe. And then the tape that she left for her, jesus fuck. None of it was true either of course, as we know from BtS, they did not stay in contact at all. Dear god, I am just a mess. What a fucking ending.

Can't play this on PS4. Purchased it and it and shows installed in the store but the game doesn't recognise I have it.

Yeah, the episode crashed after I got through the first cutscene, right when it was transitioning from the cut scene to gameplay. The only thing I did was unplug my PS4 controller from my computer, since I figured maybe that was related and I was gunna be playing with mouse and keyboard anyways, and then it worked fine when I restarted it, didn't change any settings or anything like what people are talking about in that Steam post.
My very short review of the Farewell episode:

Deck Nine really fleshed out Chloe as a character. This episode really shows why she's like that in the original LiS.

YESS! This was the best thing about it. Now when you line up the events it really makes sense why she'd react that way to what happened in Season 1.
For a bonus episode to a spin off prequel game, this episode felt really necessary. I think it made both BtS and the original even better. The story in my mind is more about Chloe than anything. what she goes through and her changes and it all just makes more and more sense with all the context. Chloe didn't come off the best in the original but you still give her a pass for what she was dealing with but with all this now you could see how she was and understand how that would affect her with all she went through.
and this episode makes some of my issues with BtS 3 less of a big deal. instead of another story in their lives, it feels like its all one story about Max and especially Chloe growing up.
love the series and characters so much. Wish I could have more things like this. Its been really intimate and relatable (despite the more fantastical elements). farewell indeed

Rough as hits hard?
I'm expecting to be emotional, not only for being the "Farewell" but also because it's probably the last time we get to play with Max and Chloe.
So...
Seeing how Chloe and Max interacted was quite heartwarming and it was really great to see Joyce fleshed out a bit more as well. Really made me feel for her to know that she had so many goals and dreams of her own that were also interrupted by Chloe's dads death.
I really liked that Chloe already knew that Max was leaving, felt very much in characters for her to also not bring it up until Max did.
It being "that day" though made it worse to know their next interaction wouldn't even be until the events in LiS. Especially with it showing Max leaving Chloe as she stands over her dad's grave.

Very emotional. It's a good episode but one I wish I was more prepared for. Make sure to take the time to explore everything though as there's nice details lying about and if you don't explore everything I think the episode would feel way too short.

Anyways, great sendoff for the characters. What a journey.
Maybe I'm just overthinking it - but now with that tape recording at the end Max seems like a bigger jerk for not texting back while in Seattle. I know some people aren't best with phones and get busy with other stuff - but still I thought about that afterwards.

Yep, definitely don't rush your way through this episode. I did everything there was to do, and stopped at all of the "sit down and listen to Max's thoughts while music plays" moments, and it took me around an hour and a half or so to finish it.
Some thoughts. Was really really good but hit me in the feels even more than I thought it would

At the same time I was thinking something wasn't quite right with Max and Chloe's interactions, on edge maybe just a tad. I put it down to growing up, being at different schools but I found out later than Chloe already knew about her moving which explains the whole thing.
I was already at feels when they dig up the capsule and then as soon as I heard Chloe say "I thought they'd be back now" I just fucking knew what this day was going to be. So in addition to not having the guts to tell her Max is moving the first time I have to do it right at the end before...
