This is why casual needs to get reworked. It's not welcoming at all for new players too which makes it hard for them to adapt or even learn. So on PC...if you run into Monika.NB and longhairs13, just TK them...They hadned the other team armor and played the round 8v3. Next round we had to TK them and stand at spawn on the roof of tower until they left, since Ubi changed vote kick to 4 votes...
Most annoying was them trying to say "its casual we're just having fun"
Any gun you want to use, you want at least stuff like grip or muzzle attachment (and sights besides the acog aren't REQUIRED but I can't play without them), but at this point if you can wait until tuesday it'll save you like 500 renown per operator that you don't set up.As someone new to the game, watching "casual" streamers play has helped me a lot.
Stuff like "kill holes" and smarter ways of droning in the beginning.
This is a really hard game to pick up, the maps are still a total mess to me and I get killed from behind like a dumb dumb sometimes.
Looking forward to the update, having more Operators is going to be nice.
QUESTION
Are there any weapon attachments that are a must that I should get right away? Or just wait until they are free?

If you can get any streamers that seem nice and patient to play with you, it might help. Playing with other people is what reinforced map knowledge to me - alone I learned the layouts, but in a group I learned both the teamplay of clearing rooms as well as being forced to learn room names instead of just "Hey uh. over there"
Like, the difference between vaguely knowing where something is, and someone saying "Blitz is coming up yellow stairs" and you being able to drop down a hatch and flank that sprinting shielded asshole, is the difference between a win and a loss.
I am glad they did. People were abusing the crap out of it. Lots of troll "LULZ" kicks. So on PC...if you run into Monika.NB and longhairs13, just TK them...They hadned the other team armor and played the round 8v3. I'm not against the toxicity update/changes, but I am curious how it works? Are they collecting voice data as evidence? Does it only effect PC's chat box? I've had people report me just for picking their character or accidental TK or failing a clutch or being too good or for not participating in shenanigans. Sir Guts got that XBL ban for no reason as well. So again I'm not saying the toxicity stuff shouldn't be taken more seriously, but I am curious what evidence they are using to justify action.
Ironically a lot of toxicity actually comes from people misusing that report button as a form of revenge.
but now a group of 2 can just ruin a match with no chance to stop themI am glad they did. People were abusing the crap out of it. Lots of troll "LULZ" kicks.
Funny cause that was me today. Just lost a ranked game and sit at Bronze 1 :} . I got so close to plat today but it just went down hill fast.I went gold to bronze in only 5 solo queue matches. Most of those had people leaving my team.
If you run a squad of two or three then yea it sucks. It is beneficial if you are solo queuing though.but now a group of 2 can just ruin a match with no chance to stop them
On PC the toxicity ban comes from the chatbox just like Epi said on reddit the other day. He also said you can say fuck and shit but racial abuse and stuff is forbidden. On console this won't work because there's no chat so we'll have to stick with the stupid unfair XBL reporting system. I don't know about the PSN reporting system but I believe it's the same tooI'm not against the toxicity update/changes, but I am curious how it works? Are they collecting voice data as evidence? Epi confirmed they're working on it.The feature this game needs is a mute function that mutes text chat
The feature this game needs is a mute function that mutes text chat and allows you to mute the other team. A ban system is just going to convert slurs into not-all-that-subtle trolling and ban baiting which isn't that much of an improvement.
There'll be more if that's your holdup, or you could buy it on steam and refund it if you don't like it (You might be able to on uplay? I'm not sure. on steam you sure could though). Obviously the real issue is that 2 hours isn't enough time to even get good enough to consistently get *A* kill probably.Man, I wish the starter edition wasn't such a bad proposition. I'd love to try this game out before spending money, but I've missed the free weekends.
Even by community manager standards, which is kind of a Baghdad Bob position, I've always found Epi lacking. Didn't he say he had moved up in the world and wasn't the guy for this stuff anymore anyway a long while back?To clarify, what Epi confirmed is SPECIFICALLY what was asked for - muting a player muting both voice and text for that player. You can already turn text chat off completely, but it's all forms which is kind of overkill for most people.

Yep. All it takes is sending in some screenshots of people typing |\| --------s to get them to throw that in the filter too, it's not hard. They also retroactively record the chat with this so presumably they can even just go back and hit people if it happens.a ban system is the most basic thing they should implement at the very start - people will codify language and attempt to play with the filters, but really, its their accounts they're gambling on - as long as there is the risk of Ubi updating the filters, there will be a group of people who'll shut up and won't risk it. It's a net gain.
Depends if the bans are IP bans or not. There are people who just buy cheap starter editions for burner accounts already.a ban system is the most basic thing they should implement at the very start - people will codify language and attempt to play with the filters, but really, its their accounts they're gambling on - as long as there is the risk of Ubi updating the filters, there will be a group of people who'll shut up and won't risk it. The number of people willing to throw away 15 bucks every time they want to say the N word for no reason is significantly smaller than the number of people that value their accounts and playtime.Depends if the bans are IP bans or not. I don't own any Y1 or Y2 operators. Is it worth dropping the money to buy em all or is there just specific ones I should pick up instead?
Buck, Frost, Blackbeard and Valkyrie are all great Y1 operators, I use them a lot. The only Y2 op that I use is Mira, but I have heard great things about Hibana. I don't even know how players buy the other year operators and how much they actually are price-wise.I don't own any Y1 or Y2 operators. Hibana is Year 1. The Y1 pass probably has more of the good ops if you're interested in splitting the difference.Buck, Frost, Blackbeard and Valkyrie are all great Y1 operators, I use them a lot. Buying a code for the base game costs barely more than the starter edition these days.
For those that play regularly, what is the best edition to get right now for someone like myself who hasn't played since launch? All of them are on sale on PSN, wanted to pick it up ASAP.
I just didn't know if there's a huge advantage to having something other than the base edition...
