Sure we can, I dislike the new font . The "a" sticks like a sore thumb.

edit: I'm not over the halo yet though. I thought I was getting used to it looking at still pictures but video from yesterday reminded me I have a long way to go.

"From a graphics standpoint we will have a brand-new package - putting them in a local language and also putting 'mph' in countries that use miles per hour."

Are they f***ing kidding me? I hope that isn't show on the international broadcast. Mph is seriously stupid.

*edit* Reread it, I now believe it's for local broadcasts (& track broadcasts) only

Bacardi group made an announcement today. They will not continue their Martini sponsorship with Williams...
Welp, that's not very unsurprising seeing Martini wanted a 24+ y/o old driver.
...
I'll take off my tinfoil hat now.
Immediately or they'll be still using the Martini livery this season?

Never. It has taken them four year and for someone else to come in and show how to build a working power unit. Pathetic.
I'm kiddin, I'm kiddin. ;3

The steaming service mentioned in that article about TV, is that going to be a subscription or something?

And bummer about Williams losing the Martini sponsorship... still such a solid livery. Such a shame how that team just couldn't keep pace, last year was a total flop.

They are in Martini livery this season, which means they have an agreement for the 2018 season.

They will not continue beyond this year.
That was a silly question. :P
But it's weird seeing this announcement before the start of the season and not at the end of it. Thanks!

The replies from Polish fans on Twitter to anything posted about Williams and/or Sergey, who are obsessed with Kubica are, quite frankly, really embarrassing. I bet Robert himself cringes if he ever sees them. Very sad state of affairs.

I had a Sky rep call me yesterday evening asking if I would be interested in taking a Sky TV subscription along with my Broadband package (only have broadband and nothing else at the moment). I simply replied:

"No, I have no interest whatsoever in watching broadcast TV, I only like to watch sporting events live and even then, if I can avoid watching them on Sky, I will."

The guy, baffled by my response, then proceeded to coax me into taking out SkyQ with the Sports package and F1 channel and I said:

"No thank you, I find Sky Sports TV packages to be absurdly priced and I look forward to when Formula 1 launches its own on demand service online in the UK. Until then, I will continue to pick and choose what I watch and when I want to watch it."

The guy said thank you and goodbye.

Liberty cannot launch their service in the UK fast enough.

I feel bad for these people, honestly. :(

Should have blagged a decent discount. They'll knock 50% off in a heartbeat usually.

Totally get the guy is just doing his job, he probably laments getting people like me telling him that they have no need for Sky and that they're expensive. It's not so much me venting at the guy, its more that I'm fully aware that calls like these are recorded and its just my feedback to Sky.

Personally speaking, I don't think Sky is worth it even with 50% off, we hardly watch any TV apart from shows/films on Netflix or amazon prime. Even then NowTV has me covered.

I don't expect much from this upcoming season. Ferrari will claim that they can possibly compete with the merc's but so did they last year and the year before that and before that but luckily the leaders aren't everything in F1

What I do know is that Azerbaijan 2017 was a little ray of light for F1. It was so good it could have been scripted. Plenty of racing and risky maneuvers, crashes(without injuries), head on head direct competition not just trough undercuts, exciting end phase everything you want to see. Easily the most entertaining race of the last few years and for me one of the best live sport events till now.

The possibility to watch the onboard of any driver anytime sounds amazing. And that price is lower than I expected.

That price is way better than I thought they would go for. Too bad they aren't launching in the UK.

I just hope the technical side is taken care of by capable people. Wouldn't want the service to have streaming issues all the time because of overloaded servers or something.

There is no chance that my country [Serbia] will be covered anytime soon. :-/ I wonder will they use IP blocking...

I suspect the list of launch territories will be the lower end of the lucrative TV markets.

I do wonder if they have 4k streaming on tap here or if they have classic races going back to the 1960s.

Good price, way lower than I was expecting. The service looks good! I'm intruiged by this:

"A less expensive, non-live subscription tier, F1 TV Access will provide live race timing data and radio commentary, as well as extended highlights of each session from the race weekend. It will also be underscored by unprecedented access to archive video content from the amazing historic archive owned by Formula 1. F1 TV Access will be available on a near-global basis at launch, to complement F1 TV Pro."

Wondering if the archive access will come to the UK, at least...

That sounds better than expected.

Going to be difficult now deciding between just going with this or getting in on YoutubeTV before the price increase.
