The worst isn't even the temperature, it's the freaking wind.

This right here.

Wind is always the problem.

You can go outside in the morning after it has snowed overnight. It's literally freezing, but it does not feel cold to you. Because there is no wind.

As soon as you add wind into the mix, you are ice cold.

I moved to Germany from Mexico in 2010, I went to college here, got a degree and a job and everything is going rather well.

this winter though, it is the first time I've considered giving up this place and going back to Mexico, I've caught a cold 4 times since november... I am going through the worst right now, I feel absolutely miserable.

With a flu since saturday... feel like my body is fucking falling apart. I could make buckets of the stuff I released in the last few days from every single fucking hole.

Last night I played a football match while snowing. First time in my life (Barcelona here). It is ideed cold as hell, but I'd take this weather over summer any day.

It was -10 C in the morning and although I took the car to work (because of the cold) with the heat on, my hands and feet still froze because it wasn't able to warm enough in the 20-25 minutes I took me to get to work.

Dundee here, light snow on the ground but it's coming down thick. Today is the day my shoes have told me there's a hole in them.

Around -7 degrees in Copenhagen this morning and i'm fucking loving it. It's almost cold enough for me to not sweat when I bike to work.

Used to winter by now, so it doesn't bother me too much. It mostly feels weird to have mid-winter temperatures when it should start to become a bit warmer.

They've given out an orange weather warning for incoming snow here in Ireland, so we are expecting it pretty bad. A lot of the shops (Dunnes/Tesco) have fully sold out of milk and bread last night too.

You'd think it's the damn apocalypse lol

I was hoping to wake up to snow and no work, but instead it's blue and sunny (even if it is -1). Our highest chance of snow is tomorrow though and would love for my son to see it, not holding out much hope though, we never get interesting weather down here.

At the moment it's -9 here, but there is barely any wind, so it's pretty ok. Yesterday at -6 with a lot of chilly wind was way worse. It's really not that bad and the winter in 2012 was way worse when it was basically around -9 for 14 days straight.

-18 right now in Riihimäki Finland. I don't mind it too much, yet. I start shaking with closer to -30. But it's not like I'm planning to go out now either. Haven't had a need for long johns this winter.

I do appreciate winters, I like that we have so different weather here depending on the time of the year. And snow is beautiful on a sunny day.

At least at noon temperatures are flirting with 0° here. As I don't have to go out often, the cold doesn't really botter me. Just need to make sure my home office is warm before I start, or my fingers go stiff before I've written three words. (That's the problem with central heating, when it's hot in the living room the rest of the apartment doesn't get heated, and as the sun blasts trough our windows, it get's hot pretty quickly in the living room. And I'm to lazy to go tune every individual heater :P)

I find this more desirable than the blaring heath we had last early summer. It's way easier to heat your place than it is to cool it off (I don't have airco). Generally I prefer a good 25 degrees above everything else, but I can't stand the heat when I have to work and can't go out.

-20 this morning, still walking 35 minutes each way to work every day. Might consider taking the bus if it drops down to -30.

-5 here in Belgium. I was in Sweden a month ago, had a few days that were only as cold as this. :lol

Then again, I also ran around in -30 while there, so -5 isn't too bad. Just gotta dress appropriately. At least there's no fucking wind.

I really prefer this cold. Usual winter in many parts of southern Sweden is mud, mud and more mud. Also rain.

Panic buying in Wales. Over 100 schools closed, lots of road closures.

It's only -4 with 1 overnight light snow.

We can't handle this shit.

-5C this morning in the East of England, fair bit of snow too, obviously it's colder elsewhere, but the UK doesn't deal with weather like this very well, so everyone is losing their shit.

If I hear "The beast from the east" once more, I am going all 'falling down' on their asses.

As someone who grew up on the East Coast in the US, calling this piddly little snowfall the "beast from the east" does seem a bit ridiculous. I was expecting a lot more. It's barely sticking and I'm in the north of England. Not sure what the panic is all about.

It's the wind. It really is so annoying. I generally don't mind when it's just cold, but the wind blowing into your face constantly is what makes the cold unbearable.

Here in Athens it is sunny and warm right now. Actually it feels like the hottest winter ever.

Northern Greece is a different story...
