Good grief, can't we have positive testing news for McLaren?
Also funny that Toro Rosso is giving a presser right now haha

STR has now done the most laps out of any team.

...McLaren meanwhile...

Should've not thrown Honda under the bus, mates, Alonso should have known this would fuck up their chi.

I think McLaren will take a minor issue over the wheel retainer over their position this time last year..

Amazing what no McLaren interference, hybrid parts or gearbox can do.

A morning of reliable running and near the top of the speed traps, lets hope it continues when the wick is turned up

I wonder why Renault told McLaren to sod off when they thought they could come in and influence their PU development?

Does anyone really pay that much attention to the lap charts? Pre season is all about number of laps/reliability rather than performance. Brand new tarmac surface and relatively cold temps (air/track), mean we won't see a true representation of the grid order.

Today's times are practically worthless as it rained during the lunch break and the cold weather will continue to change through out the day. As moss said, the tests are more about the reliability and handling of the cars today going into the first race at Melbourne.

EDIT: Temperature has fallen there to 11.7C as well.

Yeah it's pretty much all about reliability right now. And maybe very basic setup work - you're not going to be setting times this soon in these track conditions.

Last year Hamilton set the quickest time on the first day at 1:21.765, so they're doing already pretty quick laps.
