Not so much that she's bad but that SonicFox dropped her and placed her on the mid-lower half of his own tier list.
He's also said that Geets is only good because of his assist so he's got some opinions best served with a grain of salt.
I recall it being pretty diverse, you would see alot of teams with Wesker or Doom in the beginning of UMVC3 though. I can't recall MVC3 that well since it's been too long but I remember a ton of Sentinels at that Winter Brawl.
The meta didn't shift to Doom/Vergil and get Zero out of theory god status until a while into the game.
We're just a month into the game, so any tier list is just a tester really.
Btw you put Necro's team in XCaliburBladez section, he plays Cell/Kid Buu/Vegeta. Character variety is looking nice.
Not necessarily. It'd be way harder to do than your standard game, but I think I remember ASW saying they weren't against the idea.
It wouldn't be profitable in say Guilty Gear, but I could see some alternate costumes being profitable enough to warrant remaking the character from the ground up. Doubt Postboy Piccolo is high on that list though.

I fucking love this game.
Started adding IADs to my repertoire and although I fuck up more often than I don't, when I do pull it off it's so satisfying.
My favorite thing right now is to jump over someone and IAD back to throw them off. OH YEAH.
As an added benefit, it's also helping me get better at jumping overheads.

I'd pay actual money for costumes, I won't lie. Tacos Krillin. Cop Krillin. Armorless Nappa.
...I dunno what kinda costume Kid Buu could have, but he's my third main. Maybe give him Super Buu style costumes. Gotenks vest, Piccolo cape, Gohan gi. That'd be weird, because it never actually happened, but I'd definitely use the Gotenks vest haha.
Nah they just add the Piccolo Win animation right to the end of the opening animation. Then have the end animation be the original opening animation.
It would, of course, be absolutely absurd and lazy. I'd laugh, though.
SonicFox has a pretty low opinion of setplay chars rn, he values neutral a lot. All the top tiers he put have a good neutral and are generally diverse.
I think ChrisG has the right idea, like yeah 18's neutral is bad, but he doesn't have to play her there, he's got Trunks for that. This game lets you switch characters for free off one confirm, after all.
Alt Costumes might happen as DLC, there was an icon looking like one for changing costumes datamined
She was placed quite low in Sonic Fox Tier list, I don't remember the reason he gave on the video though.
Honest to god I think iADs are the most important tool to learn in this game if you're coming in from another genre of fighters aside from anime. Learning assists, vanish confirms, meter use and other important facets is paramount as well, but in terms of generating pressure anywhere aside from up close, making your opponent have any sort of fear in neutral at high levels, and baiting out some of the more powerful buttons in the game iAD is the biggest building block to be a better player. It makes your oki more threatening, your neutral more threatening, your pressure more threatening, everything. If they know you can iAD consistently it's an entire other layer of patterns and possibilities they have to try to account for during a match.
It does feel like one of the biggest steps I've made since I figured out defense.
I still haven't figured out assists at all, haha.
I haven't seen him play competitively yet, but Dieminion posts Frieza tech on twitter pretty often.
Man I've been trying to find a match for the last half hour but no luck. I'm 18k away from Majin and I keep running into the same small pool of people who won't play me any more after I 2-0'd them in sets. The few I got who weren't all gave me an EAC peer not trusted error. >_>
At any rate Piccolo seems much better in the back than on the point. Swapping him for Goku Black works out much better, given Black can actually be a threat full screen on his own, and Black's mix-up potential on a sliding knockdown is incredibly powerful with Piccolo's assist given it becomes a true left/right meatie on wake-up when timed correctly. The original plan was simply to use Black to get the corner and then tag in Piccolo to begin the setplay, but I find myself riding it out with Black until he's near death more often than not. Once you smell blood with the character it's hard not to stop pushing lol. Yamcha at second gets a ton out of Piccolo's assist too, including the same left/right with a teleport that Black gets on oki, and I'm not putting him anywhere else on account of WFF assist being so good and him being so ass without some sort of backing presence behind him.

Yes and no. We understand enough about fighting game archetypes to know when characters have objectively powerful tools. Cell and 16 are quite obviously top tier.
The questionable characters will be those like Trunks who potentially have access to oppressive set play. It's also up in the air whether dedicated assist characters are actually a useful addition to a team. Vegeta is popular at the moment because he's easy to fit in any given team but his solo capabilities are highly questionable.
Man, no feeling like fighting a dude who's just a smidge better than you and clutches out close games. I feel like I improved just through the two sets I played (we got matched twice) with this dude ssj3autocombo lol.
Man i was positive tien was a terrible anchor, but theo can't be wrong.

With meter, he has so many ways of killing quick. He's a great anchor.
I think the reason why people are humoring the possibility is because of the mods that were able to work with 18's casual outfit & a switch costume symbol that was found in the game's files.
The fact his supers eat his health is what made me think not. I personally like to super cancel his combos with another character. Plus, he can do a ton of meterless damage.
Seems better suited to point to me, but I ain't no pro.
He's so dead. Only one Frieza in top 32, and the Frieza Discord gets like one post an hour.
I'm committed to making him work on point, though.
