also, some dude on reddit had his dock break because of itYes, but I have a weird issue where the rubber causes my Switch to slowly slide up the dock and undock itself.
I got the Orzly case today. For anyone looking for a cheaper alternative, this is great.
Totally open. The shoulder buttons and triggers are the exact same as they are without the case.that looks even better - are those triggers totally open? ie, nothing on top of them?
Are you talking about the Skull & Co. model, or this also applies to the Orzly one that you posted?
I'm super tempted by the Orzly one. Not a fan of modifying the triggers with the Skull & Co. one, plus the high price and most importantly, Amazon don't sell this model in my country, while the Orzly one is sold at a super cheap price including Amazon Prime free shipment.
If you can confirm that it works in the docked mode without problems, this beauty will be in my home this Monday.
Apparently it's a YMMV situation with the Skull & Co case. Can it fit in the dock, or does it require taking off before charging?
I have hands / wrists issues and the Switch in handheld mode was really uncomfortable and pained my wrists a lot during playing so I was in the market for a solid grip for the system. I've purchased grips for other systems before like the 3DS, but I've never bought one that felt near as comfortable as this one nor felt as quality in design and feel. Here's a picture of how it looks (I chose Splatoon colors but you can choose other colors as well and even customize it).
Awesome, i have no intention of docking mine with it i would rather put it on when i want to go handheld
Bought the Skull case, and frankly, it sucks.
It's comfortable to hold, but the shoulder triggers, power button, and volume buttons are AWFUL. Deal breakers. I'm playing Bayonetta and lol. The carry case, however, is aces.
I also ordered the much cheaper Orly grip case and despite the grips not being QUITE as comfortable as the Skull's grips, the fact that I can actually fucking use the shoulder buttons and power/volume buttons means it's a keeper.
So basically, I'm rocking the Orly grip + the Skull's carry case now, and I'm relatively content. I say relatively, because I would have been just as content saving my money, playing without a grip, and sticking with my smaller carry case.
Did you cut yours?
I don't yet. I'm not sure where to cut
Got this tonight. Very impressed. Still looking for a case that will fit itSorry to bump an old thread. I bought this off Amazon without the max carry case (if people didn't know this was an option it cuts the cost in half!)
Anyway I'm wondering if there are some slimmer cases that would still hold the switch while in this grip. I want as lean as possible but without having to take off the grip. Hope that makes sense.
I've ordered the Satisfye grip instead after reading reviews of this one. Due to arrive next month so hopefully it'll be as good as it looks.
Bump! So now that this has been out for months, how is the grip holding up for all of ya? Still using it with your Switches?
Yes, still using it, I'm using portable mode 99% of the time, it's great.
Good to hear. Curious, how comfortable is it for games that use the left dpad buttons for directional controls? I've got the JETech grip, and while it's okay for limited use, the design doesnt help at all with the crampy left hand thumb dpad position...
hmm, i'm not really sure, since i'm currently playing xc2 and octopath, and those games aren't extensively using the left d-pad. although for your reference, my hands are pretty small, so i can't say for sure it will be comfortable for you as well if your hands are big
Thinking about picking this up because I'm getting fed up with cramps playing in handheld. Any long term usage updates ok this case (i.e. has the rubber material held up)? Is there a new grip on the scene that supplants this one?
Much prefer the GoPlay case as I can easily remove the joy-cons without having to take the grip off.
You cannot dock with that one, but all I needed was the Hori Playstand and a dock extension cable to make it work. Never felt comfortable docking my switch anyway so turned out to be a win-win
