What about being unable to join ring lobbies? I have never had a disconnect from matches (save for one rage quit from a opponent) but constantly find myself unable to join rings and arena matches.
Alright, I'm coming back to the game after MHW and I need to ask some questions on some team roles here (assume that 18's place on the team is non negotiable; still trying to firmly decide on the 2 and 3 spots).
How is Trunks looking at this point? And assuming I don't automatically want to have Vegeta as the assist, who would work pretty well with Point 18?

I feel like Trunks loses some of his oomph when you learn how to stop some of his overhead stuff. But I fought FSLink yesterday and his Trunks was hopping all over the place destroying me so what do I know lol.
I played in bracket yesterday too! Nowhere near as good as FSLink but I'm happy w my progress as a total FGC scrub rn.

Unfortunately I did this during my lunch break so didn't have too much time to get super detailed on the vid aspect of it. XD
Speaking of team comp I keep second guessing myself, ugh lol. Vegeta is non-negotiable - my favorite Dragon Ball character easily so I want to work around him. Cool with playing Blue or SSJ, though right now I use SSJ. I like Freeza a lot. His playstyle is really fun and I like his movement, and I just enjoy the character ("DIE!!!!"). 18... I dunno! I really love the character here too, she's cool as hell, I like playing as strong women, but I feel like I just suck at using 17 and I'm no good with her barriers. Should I just tough it out and really learn them all or would somebody be a good substitute here? I don't want to use Black or Goku because everybody uses Black and I just don't really like Goku.

I've never waited more than 3 minutes at worst for a match.
What rank are you guys?
I'm hovering between Demon and SSJ3 which means I can only fight people at those ranks or above, or someone lower rank who has their search options set to fight stronger players (rare). It still shouldn't take this long, but I chalk it up to matchmaking issues. I've almost always had to wait at least 10-15 minutes between matches.
I'm on PC. Hover between Demon and SSJ3 like you, and rarely have to wait more than a couple minutes for a match offer.
I often see a lot of the same names though.
PC is supposedly much better. It's Xbox and PS4 with the problems. PS4 is where I wait forever, but on Xbox it ignores my search settings and I have to weed out all the 1 bar connections it throws at me. Also connections are far less stable on Xbox. It's not uncommon to have a match pop at 5 bars, but then drop to 2 bars before I even have time to accept.
Yeah I'm sure my rank has something to do with it. It wasn't as bad when I was SSJ1 and SSJ2, although it still shouldn't be as bad as it is.
I'm Supreme Kai and things were pretty slow going for me last, rank match wise. Five to ten minute wait on PS4 in between games, a week ago I would essentially get them back to back.
Isn't that the guy that edited his post when his season 1 leaks turned out wrong?
This list is pretty suspect for a bunch of reasons
1) Gogeta getting in but no Janemba?
2) Kale being the front person over Caulifla would be strange since we have OG Broly
3) Tapion is probably the most obscure and forgotten movie character
4) No Tournament of Power characters
5) Videl getting in before Mr Satan
The only people on that list that don't surprise me are Zarbon, Raditz, and Roshi
IIRC he edited out Black as DLC. But plans can change. He correctly leaked the base form Goku and Vegeta, as well as stuff about other games (like TMNT in Injustice) that would be basically impossible to predict. I don't think getting one thing off means he isn't reliable.
1) A bit surprising, but doesn't mean it wouldn't happen.
2) No stranger than all of the literal multiple versions of characters we currently have
3) That doesn't mean anything. And he definitely isn't. He's routinely brought up way more than people like Garlic Jr., Lord Slug, Hatchiyack, etc.
4) Saving ToP characters for a proper sequel makes total sense and has made total sense. Everyone thought they'd be in S1 too and look what happened. That's not really a knock against it.
5) I mean, Videl can at least natively fly and use Ki. Satan will get in eventually.
The first season has a lot more "Suspect" shit like Base forms, "17 being the only TOP character... and after 17 is in the game as an assist", and Cooler randomly.
Predicting more Goku and Vegeta isn't, but base forms sure was. A ton of people either got mad or disregard the rumor as nonsense based on those because it simply doesn't make sense as DLC.
Yeah, people were actually using the fact he said base forms to discredit essentially everything he said, because surely that could not be true at all. And yet... here we are... and people are still doubting him lol.
No, it was him claiming Raditz would be in that discredited him. And surprise surprise, Raditz wasn't in season 1. He's hit and miss at best.
He's incredibly more hit. Everyone has some misses. Even if you want to write off the base forms, most people can't "call" the TMNT showing up in Injustice or the exact weapon type of a new character before a game (Soul Calibur) is even announced.
I hate DLC Goku #3 and Vegeta #3 on principle but I'm not gonna lie as a Vegeta fan I'm excited to see how he would play.
Btw is there a better resource for bnbs/guides/blockstrings beyond just asking around? I feel bad just popping in here every once in a while to be like "drr how do I trunks" but on YouTube I mostly just find lists of combos, some actual bnbs and others just net warriors flexing their 7 bar double assist sparking skills

The base roster is so solid that I don't really care that much if future DLC is underwhelming.
Seems like he probably got a wind of some insider knowledge, but he was wrong about too much too take every character he says as true. Also if he was reliable he would own up to his mistakes and say plans must have changed or something instead of editing his post like no one would catch it.
He -has- said this too. Recently he specifically mentioned he heard plans changed and Zasalamael would no longer be DLC (which he originally reported) but was now going to be in the base roster... then he was announced a this week (A few weeks after his update).
I get that people -want- this guy to be wrong. But he's been pretty reliable. Nothing he has said has been 100% off base.
Most of the accurate shit there isn't from him. He just took other leaks from Flowtron (who is actually legit) and mixed it with random bs. He also edits his post later when any new conflicting information comes out, so that already should set off red flags.
Explain his SC6 stuff. Not a single other soul knew about/called Groh and the weapon he uses.
18 should be second on a team. Put Trunks first. Use his great normals to get in, and let 18 start setting up with 17 assist....or use 18's barrier assist to go ham with corner mixups with Trunks.
Watch ChrisG's Trunks/18/SSJ Vegeta for ideas. If you aren't using Vegeta I'd suggest someone who can lock the opponent down like Kid Buu so Trunks and 18 can both set-up.
I think Trunks is great in this game. He's probably in the upper half of the cast for sure.
