A little Torn on Huber's kingdom come deliverance discussion. On the one hand I thought they discussed the controversy well, but then Huber doesn't understand why people are upset about 29GB day one patches...how can someone be so out of touch?

I don't know why they did it, but apparently the game is made out of 2GB "blocks", so if something small is changed in a block, it needs to download 2GB. I honestly don't mind it as much either (I don't own Kingdom Come, but I have seen other big day one patches), but I understand why people really don't like it (people with slow internet/low datacaps and it just doesn't feel right that the game isn't "finished").

In the end, I rather have them fix some extra bugs day one then leaving it as a much buggier game. Releasing a finished game seems not on the table any more nowadays unfortunately (almost all devs rely too much on patches).

Also Huber was really bad at explaining the Father/Mother situation in Kingdom Come. He made it seemed like the father was an asshole that treats his wife and son badly, drinks bear and slap girl's asses all day. In reality it's the opposite, he's like this incredibly talented blacksmith who left everything to leave in a small town with his family, is a great mentor to his son and protects him and his wife until the end.

I really don't know how Huber got a bad vibe from him. Just because he's kinda strict? If anything he's just like Ryo's dad in Shenmue.

It propagated! If you're cool with me being nitpicky, I'd still try to work out into the thumbnail the title of the game / title of the podcast, because if the embed doesn't have the youtube auto-context, then you're left at the will of the embed-er to actually put the context in. I think that's why most channels do it. Still a good new look!
No, I don't think they need to be further covered up with episode titles or game titles. The majority of contexts will include the title text, and likewise most games will be recognizable from the image alone. I much prefer to use a clean bit of art, and the top banner clearly displays the show logo or type of content. And you'll see the same goes for a lot of thumbnails from IGN, KindaFunny, Netflix, etc.

Fair! I also like the clean look better, just a small concern I had but if it's done elsewhere with no issue, great! Thanks for replying!

Aaaahh, that number of videos...
It says 997 for me, I wonder which 2 of their videos are blocked here in Italy.

Silly Huber, gravity and strong base foundations are actually big things in Fortnite. Many of my wins have come from taking out the weak base of some of the massive fortresses built by other people and watching them fall to their deaths as their walls come tumbling down behind them.

Probably that one episode of Easy Update where Ian and Don go on the most xenophobic anti-Italian rant I've ever heard. Couldn't believe my ears at some of the things Don was coming out with.

Hey, Axass, seeing as your Italian may I ask you a completely unrelated question? How is Gomorra received over there? Series 3 has just made it to the UK and I have to say it's probably my favourite TV show of all time but hardly anyone talks about it. I hope it's getting the credit it deserves back home.

It's also at 997 in Belgium apparently although we usually aren't that strict on stuff like this. I am somewhat surprised that some videos are blocked.
I am curious to know how it is in Germany as they usually are quite strict about blocking things on youtube as far as I know (maybe I am wrong, but I remember hearing that a couple of times before).

My point is the title of the Quake parody game has the word cake spelled as QAKE. It's not exactly the riddle of the sphinx. I've never played any of the Quakes but even I'm able to recognize what shooter "QAKE" is parodying and that's why it's so weird that Kyle doesn't get it. It's like seeing a point-and-click adventure parody called The Secret of Donkey Island and choosing to describe it as "like Police Quest".
I don't know what Secret of Donkey Island is supposed to reference either. There are a lot of video games out there, it's natural that not everyone is in tune with references to every game.

Yeah i was really confused at what he was talking about. Husband tapping his wife's ass is creepy? And the main character might be a bad person because he is going to go out with the bar maid?

I was like dude what are you talking about lol. Eza does know that sex happens right?

Watching the Metal Gear Survive stream...yikes. This is rough.

They were wildly underleveled for the multiplayer and they didn't play a single story mission.

If that isn't not giving a game a fair shale I don't know what it is.

Consensus: Meh.

On top of that they constantly made fun of the game on top of that...it's like why even play it then? I'm not even interested in the game but I wanted to see someone play the game for real to see if I'd change my mind. Not getting that at all.

This isn't the first time I've seen EZA judge a game after barely playing it either.

Oh yeah there was the bar maid too lol. It's really clear that they are together, don't know what was weird about the flirting.

Well luckily Ben & Kyle were there to sort of walk him through his nonunderstanding and give him a small idea as to why it might make people mad.

It was more Kyle that assumed the dad was supposed to be a bad guy based the couple of things Hiber said about him.

Also, I think the problem with that game in general is more that knowing the creator is a weirdo makes you second guess everything.

I don't know what Secret of Donkey Island is supposed to reference either. There are a lot of video games out there, it's natural that not everyone is in tune with references to every game.

The Secret of Monkey Island. And sure, not everyone has to know every videogame (although everyone who talks about video games for a living should know what Quake is) it's just amusing and somewhat telling that Goldeneye was what Kyle referenced there even though he obviously knows Quake.

That's the number when looked at in Finland. Well, it's 1000 now that TTE S2E4 is out.
It's weird, even after TTE it still shows as 997 (and it's not the browser cache as I tested it in different browsers).
Socialblade says 1000 uploads as well, so I guess it just doesn't update in real time for some people.

Edit:
Btw, congrats EZA for 1000 videos on the main channel.

Maybe one of them is the last Ubisoft E3 conference (or maybe both Ubi conferences they've covered) cause I think its use of licensed music led to it being blocked on certain devices so maybe countries too.

Nope, both are there for me. Only video I know is blocked here is the Damiani Ratchet & Clank playthrough, but that's on Easy Allies Plays.

People love Gomorra, it's hugely popular here. In fact, a tad too much: it's so popular that it risks to make idols out of the criminals it depicts, while in Italy organized crime is a very serious problem, especially in the South.

Little Podcast spoiler:
Goals are gone. Bummer, I liked them. But the game pitches should be fun, too. Brandon's answer was pretty great.

Oh, and cool little guest appearance.

We're spoiler tagging...podcasts?
Don't get me wrong, I'm VERY spoiler-sensitive but at that intense level of spoiler-sensitivity, it's on you to not come into the thread until you've listened, not on others to tag their posts.

And goals were retired last week already.

The podcast isn't public until friday, that's why. And last week it felt like a bit and some people here were still hoping that Kyle wasn't serious.

So, I'm wondering if the panel was actually in on that "Kyle's Imagination Rap" segment or not. If they were in on it, they certainly sold it very well. Especially Brandon.
Then again, he does have some acting experience lol

I understand it if there's a surprise appearance or something.

Goals being gone is definitely not a spoiler though. Neither are topics discussed, etc

I'm sure they weren't just sitting silently for two minutes if they didn't know about it :P

Kyle definitely needs to just to do an album after Box Peek. Ever since the Final Bosman Battle of the Bands I've really enjoyed the music he puts into his stuff.

What a rap

I found the butt slapping weird too, and after thinking about it for a while I realised why: it's one of the first things you see the main character's parents do. There's nothing wrong with a couple being playful like that with each other, but as a writer, why would you choose that particular action when introducing two characters, parents no less. I don't know these people yet so them being cheeky is kinda weird instead of endearing. Build up to it.

The other element is the writer/director is a GGer so that taints everything about the female characters in this game for me.

There's a scene not long after where a peasant girl walks away from the main character and his dad, the camera pans down to her butt (in her super sexy medieval peasant shift) and the two men are like "phwoar she's a looker eh son?". Just icky and completely pointless. And again, is made worse by my knowledge of the writer's leanings.

I'm usually very hesitant of anything spoiler related. Almost ridiculously so.

But this is a video game podcast, not Blade Runner 2049 lol

I just can't get into tabletop anymore :(

I love Kyle's new character but something just hasn't sat perfectly for me. I was ready for a refresh but two characters from the last season are still here and Brad's character is from the GT show and it's really dampened it tbh.

One of my struggles with both the GT and EZA shows were that by the time they came to a close I felt the characters had grown stale anyway and the appeal was dropping with it. The familiarity of characters this season has that feel out the gate. I really wish they'd all gone with new characters.

I don't think Bird cough is from GT. He was brad's side character he used in a couple one off episodes. He has barely been flushed out at all leading into season 2
