I never see embedded tweets. I always have to right click and open it in a new tab, so a link to the actual tweet is easier for me.

You may have some kind of adblocker going on if you don't see embedded tweets. I had to allow some Twitter social option or whatever to see tweets.

Don't you at least see the "Loading tweet..." bit ?
When tweets don't appear for me I still see that, and it's a direct link so clicking it works fine.

I received UnEpic today btw.

Yeah, it's probably this. I'll have to look into turning it off or granting some sort of permissions for this site.

I do see that, but clicking it doesn't do anything for me. I have to right click it and open it in a new tab.

FYI: The PAL exclusive XB1 copies of Outcast: Second Contact have reached a solid, import friendly, price of ~$25USD if anyone else was keeping an eye on them.

Is one of the limited game companies based in Germany? I just got a tracking number from Frankfurt Germany and I have no idea what it is.

Not sure who the publisher is, but it looks like The Coma: Recut's getting a physical Switch release in May.

Yonder The Cloud Catcher is getting a retail release on Switch later this year. Publisher is NBG (?).

That's actually pretty impressive since it already had a physical version on PS4 and the print was pretty large for EAS (4,000 copies). Hopefully this success will mean another collaboration with the developer for Super Hydorah on Vita/PS4.

Super Hydorah might be a LRG release according to rumors.

Yeah, Eastasiasoft seems real pleased with it.

At Super Rare Games, we strive to bring collectors the very best physical content for the Nintendo Switch.

We operate alongside our partners to bring the most exclusive offering of the very best indie games. From the packaging of the products to opening the limited edition trading cards, we aim to provide gamers with the purest experience.

As we look to expand our collection of games, we hope you join us and grow yours too.

OK... that's not the sort of concrete information I expected out of an about page. There's a PEGI logo on their first release, so they should be based in Europe at least, maybe UK?

GamesIndustry.biz article on Super Rare Games

https://www.gamesindustry.biz/artic...imited-edition-indie-games-to-nintendo-switch

There will only be 5,000 copies available from Super Rare Games' website, with an even more limited run of 500 units that include a vinyl copy of the soundtrack. Moreover, 125 of the trading cards have been signed by the game's creator Tomas Sakalauskas and will be blind-boxed, ensuring customers receive them at random.

"Generally speaking, we're trying to hit the European market," he says. "Obviously, we'll be selling the whole thing globally, but in the past if you've bought collectables from America, the shipping cost is almost half the amount you've paid. So having a European base hopefully gives better value for European collectors."

Herein lies another motivation behind the founding of Super Rare Games: the chance for Perkins and his collector friends to "fix some of the mistakes" they believe are made by the likes of Limited Run Games, Special Reserve Games et al.

"Our competitors are just trying to sign as much content as possible, whereas we're being much more picky, looking for the very best games that we've played, we've loved and we want to see [as part of this collection]," he says.

Much more in the article itself.

Wow, what are we at now? 6 companies?

Not counting special situations like Gamestop deals or traditional publishing deals like SOEDESCO...

Limited Run Games
Signature Edition Games
Special Reserve Games
Super Rare Games
Eastasiasoft
Strictly Limited Games

Plus one offs like fangamer and iam8bit.

Translation: Most games are either picked up by others already or are from publishers/developers not interested in doing a physical run/working with us. Beggars can't be choosers. But these games are top of the line, I swear.

It's not something I'm against, particularly. SLG is doing just that, releasing only one game per month.

I'd much rather have a few crappy limited games, then half the swill LRG pushes out every month. Pretty much anyone that came to LRG, they signed, and half their stuff has CE now... for collectors, it should be much easier to collect from these other companies.

easier to what end? If limited run signed fewer games that generated less interest, they would be easier to collect as well.

Say what you will about Super Rare Games, Human Fall Flat for Switch is a superb choice for a first release.

For my liking, 43 Euros is a tad bit too much for Human Fall Flat. 5500 looks like a decent print run though.

Super Rare Games is Curve's physical publishing arm. Since LRG haven't done Curve games on Switch (from what we know), it's likely that the first selection of games come from their own published games.

Will be interesting to see what they come up with after they run out of Curve games.

Publisher is either Merge or Headup, sonce Merge does distribution for both (Merge is doing Slain and Yonder, posted somewhere above)

I was gonna say, it's interesting that their first game is a Curve title. I'm guessing that's the end of the LRG/Curve partnership then so there's little chance of me getting a physical copy of Hue or Stealth Inc 2 :(

I wonder if they're gonna do a print of Human Fall Flat on PS4 or if it's just Switch only going forward for them.

I don't think companies are making exclusive contracts anymore. Ratalaika released one game through Signature Edition, then another one with EAS, for an example.
