Problem is, just like last year, they've had their big meeting in early-mid January, but they've gone radio silent about the future changes until the anniversary. They should really deemphasize the anniversaries at this point, they're allotting too much time and effort to them.

The big stagnation periods for EZA are historically Jan-March and Jul-Sep. They could try to propose something new now, instead of keeping all the announcements for the anniversary event, which will bring in more pledges and patrons regardless of announcements.

The key is having something new all the time, not holding back stuff for a big blowout.

i have to say i've been enjoying "all system goku" from GB (they watch 3-4 episodes of DBZ kai every week and talk about it). now i'm not saying to copy the format but it could work for the anime with lots of episodes, and you can do it like the Q&A, releasing only the audio)

I've been wanting a DBS weekly podcast for a while now but now it's ending. Hopefully when the next DB show starts, we can get a podcast with Kyle, Brad, Ben and Huber, the latter two who would hopefully be done with Super by then.

Has Huber been on Kinda Funny yet? Does anyone have a link? Sorry I haven't been paying as much attention as I usually do recently.

That I agree. The stream cut Kyle did for Digimon would certainly be welcome for some other streams (Dynasty Warriors 9, Longest 5 Minutes, Damiani & Brad SotC, Dissidia Mobile).

First EZA Review in the new system: Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

I honestly do not feel the text matches the number. This definitely sounded more like a 4-5ish score.

It's entirely possible that they have yet to give the idea any real thought (Kyle talked about it briefly on one of the Q&As), but I'd love to see them unveil a new logo at the anniversary event.

I see they're still using the final score as a big reveal in the end of the review. Don't really like it myself, puts way too much emphasis on it.

Thumbnail looks nice though.

Unsure if this means that the topic of the next Game Sleuth is Budokai 3, or Damiani just wants us to get pumped.

Yeah, the thumbnail looks really sleek. Love it. Already made my love for the new review system clear, but it was nice to see it in use for the first time. o/

Honestly Ezanime always seemed like somehting that's hard to keep doing because unless you're just doing a Miyazaki movie or something it seems like a huge time commitment for mulitple people.
I'd be fine with it just being Ben and guest, or just Ben if he couldn't get a guest that week, talking about whatever caught his eye or he watched or got into that week. It doesn't need to be a nebulous discussion about a particular series all the time.

dude, that big reveal was sick. i personally have a real issue with the thumbnail though. theres not enough space between the bottom left corner of the 'r' in review and too much space between the 'w' and the right side of the frame. its so sloppy but sadly not all together unsurprising considering the allies previous history. these guys call themselves professional lol. seriously considering withdrawing my patronage.

It's weird but it felt like the Dissidia review had a lot of starting and stopping from the Jones VO. Like, pauses every two sentences. Maybe it's actually common in EZA reviews but for whatever reason I noticed it a lot here.

Regarding swearing, I'm SO relieved by the general lack of it on EZA. It's so refreshing to be able to actually listen to a podcast out in the living room and not have to worry about the content much.

I never watch Kinda Funny, because the swearing it so obnoxiously prevalent.

Also, completely agree with whoever said they need to make the studio goal 100% clear. Right now nobody knows what it means. I don't even know if they do, besides literally just moving from one spot to another. What would it mean for US, as consumers and as patrons? That's important, and until that's known, nobody has any reason to try getting there.

You don't have to like what they do but there's no need to be so mean about it.

Just to be clear I think your post was harsh but fair until you start taking jabs with "call themselves professional lol." It's unnecessarly hostile and mean spirited.

Damiani already confirmed on Twitter that it was going to be something Dragon Ball almost a month ago. I think it's pretty safe to say that this is the game, which is nice to know.

It's been a thing. I first noticed it first in their Super Mario Odyssey review. Earlier reviews probably have that too, but that was the first time it really bothered me.

It's insane to me SE threw everything about Dissidia single player, menus and tutorials in the trash. Not even commenting on the game itself or its mechanics, but damn, the PSP entries are pretty much perfect interface and fanservice wise. At any given time you can access explanations of anything, all full of character and references to the franchise, and the whole damn game communicates with you, giving prizes for playing at least once a week, recognizing acheviements, time spent (recommending you to turn off beginner indicators in the UI, ironically)... The package is so, so complete and polished. And then there is Dungeon mode and all the optional grinding you can do both in it and in story mode to get perfect gear and summons for your build (levelling and mastering abilities is a non issue, you can cap everyone really fast).

Also, awful writing in Dissidia is pretty much a given :V

That's... how they've always did it though?

Great review. I remember playing the first Dissidia with my friends back in High School but we had the Japanese versions and would battle each other all the time.

As for the aesthetic of the new format, I do like the thumbnail, for sure. I must say, not seeing the stars fill in at the end will take some time to get used to, but I do prefer the 20 point scale.

DBZ Budokai 3 still has the best intro of all DB games and one of the best intros ever made in general.
budokai 2 tho

I really like both but I like how budokai 2 shows a lot more characters and different scenes. Feels nicely put together. 3 has the better song but it's close.
2 has the hypest first 10 seconds to a game intro.

Do HD versions even exist of these animations

I am not sure how defining the studio will get them 50k in a sustainable manner. It's not like there are a ton of already subbed patrons just waiting to up their pledges for a long sustained period.

I don't even see why people should be irked about growth, etc. As long as they are providing content for the goals they have listed it's all good. But stuff like the retro need to get out on time.

Adding random shows just to expand audience is not the way. Just gotta get a few more of those YT subscribers to pledge.

nice. The new design is rolling out to replace everything that used the left spine in the past.

EDIT: No logo change in the works yet.
Maybe you'd want to move the new thumbnail overlays to the bottom though, youtube puts the title of the video and other buttons up top already so the Easy Allies logo isn't visible in embeds?

Pretty sure he was joking.
Like...97% sure
Giving some posts in the past of Trinity, I am not convinced (I hope I am wrong).
But it's not really nice to Blood anyway as he does the thumbnails as far as I know and he was in this post just a few hours ago (and clearly follows this thread).

But I guess giving the things he complains about, it should be a joke as they are not professional graphic designers, but game journalists.
I think the thumbnail looks fantastic.

yeah, I'm aware, and it's my biggest negative for the design. What's annoying is that depending on the platform, size, and position, there's all kinds of different things that could be covering different parts of the image. The only real "safe zone" is the bottom left corner. The top will be clear in pretty much every other type of playlist, search, etc., so that's just a loss I'm willing to accept for now. I tried a bunch of different designs, and this ended being the one we liked the most.

Alright, my concerns came from the idea that many people's first foray into EZA content could be through embeds (which is probably naïve :D) but I'm way sympathetic with the randomness of platform and stuff! It's still very neat!

Did Kyle ever comment on Biomutant?

Hin streaming it whenever it comes out would be funny as hell i think.

Absolutely, I welcome the fact they're doing something already, I was talking more on the content side of things though. I fully expect the anniversary event to feature the announcement of new Patreon tiers, videos and other changes to their content delivery along with the first episode of Box Peek.

That I agree. The stream cut Kyle did for Digimon would certainly be welcome for some other streams (Dynasty Warriors 9, Longest 5 Minutes, Damiani & Brad SotC, Dissidia Mobile).

Ian did it as well with the Easy Update recapping the amazing Sea of Thieves stream, but yeah, more Allies should get on it. I fear it's gonna end up the way of Don't Skip, which was an awesome idea severely underutilized: we got 6 in a year and mostly done by Ben (bless him), who was the one initially proposing the concept.

Unsure if this means that the topic of the next Game Sleuth is Budokai 3, or Damiani just wants us to get pumped.

It's something Dragon Ball related, at least.

Ready for a Sleuth, I liked the last one.

It's great to have a new GS ready to go, makes me hopeful about Damiani's promise of 4 GS per year, which would be double what we got so far each year.

Those should totally be Patreon updates though, not everyone frequents twitter or follows Damiani on it and they're relevant news for the patrons.

Agreed, the score definitely doesn't match the text, which is an endless highlight of the game's faults with barely any positives.

In fact there's already plenty of people in the comments debating this. Once again, more reason to have less or no numbers instead of more. "Don't Skip" was an excellent way to cover a game and be informative about it without giving a score; could very well have passed for actual reviews.
