wow...the aero looks amazing, almost like a wing over the sidepods

Well, it is a wing, it just isn't there for downforce, it is to guide the air and stabilize it so other parts (main wing) can create more downforce later on :)

That said, it is a thing of beauty.

Great livery, enough changes on the aero, hopefully it will run fast :)

Of course they will. They're trying to hide lines just like everyone else.

They did the test livery back with the RB11, too.

RB14's test livery looks better, though. Really cool.

Toro Rosso should get that RB14's livery, it would also mask all the leaks and smoke coming out of the Honda engine. ;)

I really like the livery, but I still like the normal one better. Just so good.
Also, that thing is gonna take off with those sidepod wings.

That Newey work around the Halo mounting points (where the Citrix logo is)

Niiice

(I think we're going to be ok with the Halo.)

I like the new (testing?) livery a lot, but man the halo makes it tough to ID who is in the car.

Yeah I heard about that, it was hilarious and imo they should've left some Honda power of failures option hidden in the menus. I still plan to start a new career with McLaren and have Alonso as a teammate. :)

That's how you unlock the emotional support counsellor minigame, right?

I haven't looked into modding these games too deeply but it doesn't seem like changing the 3d models is easy or even a thing.
Maybe there's some way to make the textures for the halo transparent but that's still gonna look weird at the mounting points.

On paper it should be quite possible to have the halo flagged such that if in first-person mode, you can have a 'window' through it where you can tweak the opacity.

That'd be core software functionality, though, not sure a mod would manage it.

You shouldn't have to look at the T-cam to identify the driver, the helmets should be clear and definable enough as is. Like.. that's the reason they limited driver helmet changes. So people wouldn't get confused.

So they put giant black bars in front of the helmets. Genius.

Is it just me or is the car ride height very high? Seems to be running with a lot of rake too.

I know it is just a temp livery, but I don't like it. I was hoping since there is a more prominent Aston Martin sponsorship/partnership we would see some British Racing Green back on the grid.

I used to love Gasly's green car at GP2:

It's not that big of a deal, but I definitely feel like the helmets are the easiest way to identify the driver at a glance.

Can't wait for the kids in 10 years talking about Max Verstappen's iconic T-cam.
So now the goalpost moves from being easily identifiable at a glance to them not having helmets at all?

Kids in 10 years can still remember pretty helmets, even though the drivers change the designs once a year and have speciality helmets each year as well.

I.. didn't say any of that? It was a jokey comment about T-cams becoming the defacto method of telling who a driver is.

Not a fan of the elephant trunk nose on the RB14 but I should be used to them by now I guess.

I was about say that the outlined version in the preview looked far more interesting than the final version which looks like every other F1 helmet.

I don't think either looks any sort of good, but it'd definitely be nice to have some helmets that aren't a busy mess.
