Anyone order and receive the Cuphead vinyl from Amazon? I just got mine, wondering if there was any catch between ordering it there vs iam8bit.
Woah, I wasn't aware of this option. How much was it comparatively? It's more expensive now since it's out of stock and only available from third parties. Wondering if it'll come back... I would rather get it with free shipping, and earn points through Amazon, if that's likely.

Got a similar notice today from Black Door informing me the So Let Us Melt soundtrack has shipped, completely forgot I had ordered it.
Love Jessica Curry's Work though always good.

Really glad this thread is back.

Did that Dark Souls vinyl set ever release?

I'm REALLYhoping that there's a vinyl release for Shadow of the Colossus. I just hope Iam8bit doesn't get it.

Do you know if it's sold out? Every link I find just takes me to BandaiNamco store homepage
You have to use a European VPN of some sort to see the EU page. It's a pain in the butt to order if you're in the US, since you have to have it sent to a mail forwarding service, and then have it shipped to you. And Bandai Namco has fucked up at least two orders that I'm aware of (one of them mine!) where they shipped it to the wrong name. I got mine sorted out, but I'm not sure if they other person did as well.
Anyway... Tunnelbear is a good VPN, I find. YMMV.

Bleh. That's too much work to give a company my money. I'll probably pass for now. Thanks for the info though.

This is oddly really exciting to me. I spent dozens of hours with putt putt as a kid. Probably explains my love for adventure games and visual novels so much. Hoping that this KS is reasonable with its prices.
That's a strange thing to put out on vinyl. On the other hand, this game has some really good songs on it's soundtrack, haha. I need to keep an eye out for this one.

They do say that they want to go for more niche titles. Apparently it will be a 3LP and they'll also offer a 6CD version, so it sounds like an ambitious project. Kickstarter goes live tomorrow btw.

Ah, my first subscription in the new building.

Data Discs is worth checking out, for anyone that hasn't yet.

Recently got both the Va11 Hall-A DLP and Dark Souls box set in. Admittedly I got the Dark Souls box as more of a collectors piece as it's not music I'd want to listen to often outside of the games.

Haven't really had time to listen to either yet but they look great, will try and get some spins in during the week.

I remember asking this in the vinyl collecting Discord, but the chat was moving fast, so I wasn't able to get much of a conversation on this - I'm potentially going to moving into an apartment soon, which means I won't be able to take advantage of my parents turntable.

1byone makes an affordable turntable ($50) that I was considering picking up but if anyone has any recommendations for a similarly affordable turntable, or advice on what to look for in a used turntable, I'd appreciate it.

I would save for something a bit better. If you go cheap on the player, you could do small but incremental damage to your vinyl every time you spin them. If you can, I would save a little more dough and get something that has reliable feedback and reviews. You might be without a player for the short term, but in the long term your collection will remain in good shape.

Subbing this thread. Just kinda starting to get into vinyl, but there's definitely some game soundtracks I'm gonna need to pick up.

I second ZeroRed's comment. There are no good (or even half decent) new turntables in that price range. It's better to keep an eye on the used market (garage sales, thrift stores, local classifieds, etc.) if you're on a small budget. One thing is how it will affect the condition of your records, another thing is how it'll sound - and I guarantee you that your records won't sound good on those cheap all-in-one turntables.

Anything in particular I should look for in a used turntable?

This small guide explains what to look for in general quite well imo: http://i.imgur.com/cmEMH5j.jpg

EDIT: This guide is also pretty good in order to give an overview over decent new turntables: https://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/5ghkwd/best_new_entrylevel_turntable_to_start_out_with/. Should give an idea about the price range as well. It's an old post, so the pricing on some of the tables have likely changed as those occasionally go up and down (especially on Amazon).

Me, the guys from Video Game Grooves and the guy who runs Games On Wax on Twitter all contributed to a new blog post for Laced Records' blog - and it's all about VGM on vinyl: https://www.lacedrecords.co/blogs/news/why-we-game-music-scratching-the-vinyl-itch

Figured you guys might like it :)

I haven't been to BlizzCon in a few years but don't most of their items end up on their web store later?
Fingers crossed! They first sold these at a con in Korea and now at BlizzCon. Hopefully they won't keep it entirely a con exclusive.

Unfortunately however, during our final quality control checks we found a serious issue with the audio. After some investigation, it was discovered that during the manufacturing process, one of the stampers used to press the records developed a fault. This resulted in increased noise and other abnormalities during playback, affecting all three editions.

You forgot that shipping begins first week of December and aim to finish by 15th December.

Always scary to ship stuff out in December. So many lost, destroyed and delayed shipments.

Kudos to them for doing that. Can't have been cheap but better than shipping out a flawed product.

yeah, well i bet the factory pays for it as it sounds like their screwup. But surely affects their inventory management and budgets in any case.
Oh yeah, I'm sure the plant has to eat a lot of the cost of pressing the replacements, if not all of it. But in terms of time, disruption to production schedules, inventory, maybe lost orders if people cancel, etc it would still be a costly decision for DD.

Oh snap. ROLLING AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND.

Because we needed more good news this morning, looks like Mondo is bringing Portal to vinyl later this month. Shame the orange/blue split is a Mondocon exclusive

Damn. Wallet is hurting.
