Have you or your family ever had any run-ins with the cartels?

Nope.

But these days people call your home crying: "Mom, it's me. Some guys forced me into a car and... " blah blah blah. Basically they ask you for money and pretend to be kidnapped. Some people actually fall for it. As far as we know actual low profile criminals are the ones behind this.

That's why as rule you never give your name to anyone who calls.

As for being confused for Filipino:

Mexicans are clueless when it comes to identify Asians (like many people around the world, I guess). Personally unless I hear them speak in other language or unless they are tourists, all people I see around me I always consider them Mexicans. But what about the other way around? well, I've only been in the US and Japan. I studied in Japan for about 2 years and a half and when I was there I was asked several times if I was American, amusingly I was asked if I was Asian, and more than one of my Japanese teachers asked me if was Nikkei (Basically they believed my parents were Japanese and I grew up in Mexico). Once, I met a Mexican from another VG forums in Tokyo and the dude couldn't find me because "Oh, I thought you were one of the locals". So, not Filipino. Why do some people think I'm Japanese? Well, apparently my eyes are small... or at least that's what some people say.

I certainly will. Thanks!

If you have a "Casa Cacao" or an establishment that sells products from Oaxaca try chocolate mayordomo, is a bit expensive, but tastes great.

The 100% cacao, unsweetened, tastes amazing if you like something strong.

It's a treat when the Oaxacan marketplaces disperse all over the country. Lots of food/candies, cool looking clothing (though, that shirt wore off after a couple months of use), and plenty of ice cream flavors.

Ok, this actually looks pretty good. I might try to get a little bit of that chocolate

Ready for this, Mexico Era? Apparently from Reaction (Funko)

I am not a big fan of funko or lucha libre, but if they do El Santo, I might get it.

Glad that the thread came back after the terrible poderes fácticos tried to drown the offtopic with sillys AMAs and caused an awful caída del sistema.

Where were we?

I don't think they'll do El Santo. If they had the license they would have shown it at that reveal

Better, lets put some Lucha Libre posters.

.n_n.

I'm still waiting for those posters

Yeah it's kinda sad we had to be moved. But I hope we can have some great discussion here anyways.

Wassup?

Al final fui a ver Lady Bird antes que Black Panther. Me gustó mucho, pero creo que la hubiera disfrutado más con la compañía de una dama, para comentar la película sobre todo :/

I was reading halfway through the thread when the title change happened and I was like "the fuck?",
but anyway, I don't hang out a lot in OT, let alone communities, but I'll try to post here more often

saludos!

Another earthquake here in Mexico city.

Being reported as a 5.9 in Oaxaca, felt stronger.

So, my question is, do we stick to English (bad English in my case)? ¿O empezamos a hablar español?
