I'm in the process of picking up some of it, but keep in mind that prices have dropped drastically on most of it. Sets were being sold for $1.99 at dollar stores last week. There are really only a few sets that have maintained their value.

Yeah, I might try and take inventory and sell it as a lot...I have Green Arrow, which I know is a "valuable" item. There were some $1-2 sets I saw on reddit, so that's something I'll have to consider. Of course, a sale only devalues something for the time it's on sale and shortly after. Stock dwindles and price goes back up. But I'm not looking to make my money back on it all...I invested in an IP that failed. So I'll cut my loses and make due, haha.

Been a little while since I have posted. Life has taken me away from the boards for a bit. But I have managed to build a few lego sets in the past few months, I won't post any thumbnails, but will link to my imgur account since there are A LOT of pictures.

1. Lego Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu. https://imgur.com/a/Cj0ql
Shout out to PhoncipleBone for this one. Great set.

2. Lego Ninjago Movie Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon. https://imgur.com/a/fCnX2
Not as cool at Airjitzu, but still a fun build.

3. Lego Star Wars Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike. https://imgur.com/a/Fz4oq
A challenging build for me, but worth it. Love that the figure can pose.

4. Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar. https://imgur.com/a/0aTwl
I loved building these everyday with my gf!

Up next: Lego Millennium Falcon (TFA edition, not UCS) and Lego Ferrari

Ultimate Batmobile
aka "Wreckreational Vehicle"

I'm going to go ahead and post pics as I finish each section. This is the main Batmobile part. Really like how some of this build comes together. A kid would get an absolute blast out of this thing. There are a few non-traditional building processes here some younger kids may stumble with but this would be a really fun parent/child set anyways.

I've seen pics, I've seen video reviews and I knew this was like a 1400 piece set but I was still surprised how big this is turning out to be. Just this first part is bigger than any of the previous regular Batmobiles I have. Now on its own even being bigger and more detail it's not my favorite design out of them all. My favorite is still a tossup between the Two-Face chase set and the Jokerland version. This one is still pretty slick. And I'm sure when I'm finished with this behemoth it's going to be in a class of its own.

I want this.

I have nowhere to put it.

I want this.

It's a bit overpriced at $170.

I want this.

I seriously have nowhere to put it.

I want this.

No, you can't ha--wait it has the Lando minfig nevermind just buy it.

In all honesty I have yet to get a Falcon, so why not just jump in on this one? ---> is what I also tell myself.

So some time on from the big falcon launch, how has everyone got theirs displayed?

I learned from the last UCS Falcon that just leaving it out on a table is a good way to collect an enormous amount of dust over time. So this time around I also got an acrylic case for it (like this one) which looks nice and only takes a moment to wipe off.

The tfa falcon had often dropped to 90-100 from a msrp of 150 so you should be able to get it cheap.

I myself, wasn't as hardcore into the collection game when those deals happened and when it retired last holiday season i found myself having to pay 10$ premium from shopdisney before it was gone for good :(

you cant return items to target that are over $200 without a receipt. so the very least they actually bought it there.

But yeah i guess youd want to check whats inside. good deal if actually intact.

That MF may still be a good deal at that price just for the parts. 30% off MSRP. Is it worth opening to take a few of the rare parts? I would ask to open it up at the store and take a look at the contents first.

"Opens box and finds various LEGO bags from sets that were on clearance."

Pretty good deal at 25% off. I'd bite at 50% off. :) I like the look, but it's not my thing and I have a ton of other $150+ sets much higher on my list to tackle first.

I was gonna say an acrylic case that size would be pretty pricey, but the link you provided clearly shows how expensive they can get.

Yeah...Not paying that lol.

Planning to make a case to put under my TV that will house the kit I need and display the Falcon behind some glass. Should be fun if I ever actually get around to building the falcon.

I'm so hyped to be slowly bled out by an ever-expanding modular hogwarts, because there's no way it stops with the willow.

Seems like a great set. Was a bit worried with the D2C rumours (and the poss pricing!) but reckon id be fulfilled with this one alone!

Still interested to see the rest though!

Wow, new Harry Potter. Looks great. Despite some of the early sets not being very good, the HP line was the first theme I started collecting as an adult way back when. They did this neat thing with the Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets sets in that all the individual sets could be combined to form one great big Hogwarts. Would be so cool for them to do that again with the level of design quality they're seemingly putting into HP now.

Woot... First Lego set after 20 years!
nneTqlH.jpg

Got it for 179€ and with it the last 60th Anniversary set available at a local Lego Store.

The lady at the desk asked me if I want the new Millennium Falcon because someone cancelled their reservation and its just sitting in the back. But I'm not sure I wanna drop 1000€ on Lego straight after coming back out from the dark.

I finally bought myself the Apollo Saturn V from the LEGO store in Disney Springs.
If it's not the first the first LEGO set that I've bought, it's the first one that I've had in a long while. All others were gifts from when I was younger.

You got union jacked!

Reminds me of a HISS tank. So many play features built into each individual vehicle.

2qFxuIi.jpg

This one is pretty fragile compared to the other vehicles. It looks cool, reminds me of the starships from the old Buck Rogers tv show. It's just hard to find a place to grip to properly swoosh. For instance the two back exhaust/wing builds are only attached by one snap each. And it's a bit of an illegal connection at that because it snaps in at a bit of an angle. So not my favorite of the vehicles but it does look cool.

You blew it all up!

Transform and roll out!

AH0mwkD.jpg

Size comparison. Like I said I was actually surprised by how big this was coming out hands on. And yea the back is hanging off the ledge but you can see how good the connections are when combining. This is not a realistic bat vehicle to have parked in a regular non-Wetwired moced Batcave. But if you have a Bat vehicle shelf going on this is fantastic to have in a lineup. Also AFOLs with kids are going to get as much enjoyment out of this set as their kids. Scratch that, every AFOL will get a blast out of this. This set is like totally 80's action vehicle flashback.

Anything worth doing is worth overdoing!
There is no kill like overkill!

Years ago, my first venture back into LEGO was the regular TIE and the Sex Wing back in 2012. Right after that went right into the UCS series with the Imperial Shuttle. Enjoy the ride!
And wise choice going with the TIE. Don't let those fools talking of repetitive building on it sway you from the magnificence of Imperial engineering!

And you shoulda gotten the Falcon.

Totally in for the Hulkbuster, and most probably for the Harry Potter set. Great reveals all around. Now if only I could find time to build all those :/

Thanks guys! I have finished the build today and it looks glourious.

I'm really a huge fan of military arsenal of the Empire so it was quite important for me to get in on this TIE Fighter. Repetitive building process is kinda expected in a model like this but it doesn't bother me the slightest. I hope they will rerelease that Imperial Shuttle or make some new UCS set from the Galactic Empire's fleet. I would very much like this.

I'm mainly looking into buying sets when some opportunity presents itself in the form of discounts or something since I'm not ready to drop huge amounts of money into LEGO yet but I guess I'll see how this is working out for me as I go along :D Besides the Star Wars UCS stuff I might get the Saturn V and Porsche 911 GT3 RS if I manage to find a decent deal for either of those. And an occasional BrickHead here and there :)

Btw, how do people here display their stormtroopers etc? In the sets, on the ground next to them, all in lines or something creative? I kinda wanna make something like the Emperors entrance in RotJ using my figs and Krennic's shuttle(until I can get the classic one).

Yeah this one is a super fun build, some parts of it felt fragile but I love vehicles and I think it was super slick how they combined so many to make one huge one.

As comically as possible. Right now I only have them lined up, I think, but I have one with Phasma driving Kylo in the pink Cadillac, and I used to have them armed with Friends hair styling equipment.
