It's Monday, and the Factotum 90 Bonus Editions are gone.

Remaining stock:
Factotum 90 PS4: 2
Factotum 90 Vita: 7
Home PS4: 16
Home Vita: 21

A list of thoughts:
1) Don't think you can blame the Vita for the relatively slow sales.
2) Can't incur storage costs for stock you don't have. :p
3) These are almost certainly going to sell out before said stock arrives.
4) This is the first batch in a while that I think LRG judged the demand correctly and didn't blatantly leave money on the table.
I love physical games and I love limited run games, but home is always 5 bucks. 25 bucks and 15 bucks shipping is outrageous; so no buy for me.

if the right one is the pax exclusive the other 2 you'll get regardless because they're reversible unless you only keep your games sealed

Shame that the best cover is PAX exclusive (makes sense), but at least it's reversible so I can get the cool middle one.

Wow... is it really happening? I think I ordered somewhere in 2016?

I honestly got beyond the point of being disgruntled about the delays so now I'm just happy again that it's finally happening.

Also, minor observation - Vita now has more physical Oddworld games than any other console lol. PS1 got two; Xbox got two; PC got two; GB/GBC/GBA got one each.

Weird. Nice weird though.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that their LEs are "overpriced" because of the material cost behind it, and not being able to get the materials any cheaper. Just because XSEED etc can, doesn't mean every small company can...

What about eastasiasoft? Signature Edition Games? They're as small, if not smaller than Limited Run Games, and manage to offer a lot more for a lot less.

If every release was like the EastAsiaSoft releases with the nice compact boxes with Vita branding (which I LOVE), and little extras inside for $30-$35 I'd be thrilled.

These giant boxes just can't be stored/displayed easily and are frankly an eyesore for me.

Different countries altogether can also make a difference too, I'm sure. Europe usually gets nicer LEs than us, in general.

So the excuse is LRG can't be compared to SEG and EAS because those two are from different countries and can't be compared to XSEED/NISA/Aksys because they're bigger than LRG? I stand my case, I know LRG can do better than that.

"Just got a product code for an upcoming Switch release that will make some people happy. This will be historically significant. We're publishing it digitally and physically! Should be out in the Summer barring any issues."

Like the complaints that XSEED gets for various reasons, I'd like to believe that there's a reason behind these business decisions for cost, rather than "it's this much, just because we can". It's not an "excuse" but a rationale behind these decisions made.

(Maybe Doug can come and shed some light on this...)

As I recall, most of the complaints about Xseed's LEs were specifically because Xseed only ever does one physical SKU of the Senran Kagura games, while Marvelous Europe does several (ranging from "just the game" editions to "here's a world exclusive bodypillow on top of a localised version of the Japanese LE" editions).

Marvelous Europe also charged quite a bit more than Xseed, and only sold said LE's directly (or from pQube's webshop) which probably explains why.

To go back to the topic on hand: while I understand why LRG's settled on this format, in my personal opinion the additional extras don't justify the extra $20 over what LRG would have charged for a Soundtrack Edition (and tbh $15 extra for a CD soundtrack is pretty high IMO). I can also see that limited edition totally disappearing within five minutes.

Kind of wrote in confusing, but in XSEED's case, a lot of their business decisions in general have been criticized. "Why this?" "Why that?" With them coming in to be transparent on why they made the business decisions that they did. (Such as why Gaijinworks could still put out PSP titles for a while but they could only do digital releases).

Right now, no one knows "why" these LEs are more expensive. I understand what works for some companies, don't work for all. Rather than criticizing it right away, I'm willing to hear a reason on decision making. Greedy companies that try to squeeze out extra dollars exist, but I don't believe that LRG is one of those companies.

Reason doesn't really matter to me.
It's still expensive in the end and others provide much better value and overall packaging.

I've no doubt it will sell out though and I don't believe they're trying to fleece customers badly or intentionally. Just the way it is.

It is what it is. As long as they are making money and selling out on these CE, i doubt they will change much

Yeah I completely agree with you. I don't expect them to change since stuff sells and they don't take criticism well, but it sucks. I still haven't even opened the Windjammers shipping box b/c I dread finding a place to stuff those boxes (if I don't recycle them).

The eastasiasoft LE's are perfection.

EAS has the benefit of being in China, materials are much cheaper. I don't feel like Signature Edition offers more, but that's my opinion.

The box for Oddworld is awesome, the whole presentation is miles above what I see others offer typically. Majority of our fans are super excited about it and feel the $65 price tag is fair. Sorry some of you don't. Charging only $10 more does not even pay for the cost to make the box and have it assembled. We made a real effort to step up our game on future CEs starting with this one.

Multitudes of huge boxes don't fit on shelves. They eventually end up in storage bins of regret, but that's my opinion.

Obviously it's a vote with the wallet thing, but paying extra for the huge box is a negative.

I think the CE looks nice, but I don't love Munch's Odyssey or the Vita enough to spring for it. I'm also really trying to cut down on buying CE's in general; I bought a lot last year and don't really have much space left to display them. Honestly, I'd rather just have a steelbook.

I like EAS's releases, but I feel like LRG has gotten much higher quality games in general. I've been dissapointed by several of my EAS purchases, and I've skipped even more. Cursed Castillo and Bleed/2 were good, though. Still need to play Vesta.

Doug are there any updates on a collab with Capcom? Josh tweeted a few months ago that they were receptive to the idea and also teased the Disney Afternoon Collection, but there has been no mention since.

All listings for friday are up. None of them mentioning games shipping at a later date. We'll see how that goes.

Considering that last time round, the notification that the copies were going to arrive in March appeared well after the first batch started selling, I would expect the same to happen here. Especially considering that we're talking about 5 SKUs launching at the same time.

What's everyone picking up this Friday? Personally, I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to even get anything. As I mentioned before, Asdivine Hearts was awful, and I can't in good conscious drop another $25 on more Kemco swill. Munches oddyssey is a maybe, but I'm not as munch of an Oddworld fan as I used to be, and it's not like I can't get it for less than $10 on the original Xbox. I bet it'll get Xbox One support, too. Finally, Metronomicon, which looks neat, but I'm not crazy about the art, the game looks more rhythm than rpg, and I get bored with rhythm games quickly.

I think I'll grab an Oddworld regular, that's it.. I don't see anything else interesting, and the LE doesn't grab me.

Honestly I'd be ok sitting this one out.

I'm a big Oddworld fan so I'll most likely end up kind of reluctantly buying that Munch collector's edition on Friday... Any news on VA-11 Hall-A Vita? I feel like that's never coming out at this point!

Today I have received the limited run games card binder and I love how the cards look there, however I don't understand why is so difficult to obtain the complete card collection, I hope that they make something so people can get all cards, now it's ridiculous if you want a complete set.

I'm hoping I'm fast enough to purchase the Collector's Edition, but with 500 CE's now taken out of the "main pool" for the mega bundle, I reckon I'll be too slow.
