Maybe they used dark color on purpose, to hide some details - front wing and sidepod aero are placeholders. Plus car looks much better on renders :D
Since it's a render, they could hide the details much easier by simply omitting them, heh.

In other news Kubica will apparently appear in three training sessions during the season (Barcelona and Austria are confirmed), that's not a lot tbh. Maybe he'll have more time behind the wheel in the tests.

I think it looks way better like that.

I am not sure it would be legal for long by the way, i ve heard of a plan to put leds on the outer surface of the halo to show spectators the car is in its fastest lap, or other things like that. That would also explain why there are no monetized spaces on the halo (unless i have missed something with my less than stellar eyes, and not counting ferrari test last year).

Heads up, F1 2017 is on sale on EU PSN (around 65% off). I'm thinking about buying it. :) I own 2015 and 2016 games but the additions to the career mode and historical cars are very tempting.

My favorite meta joke resulting from that game is that the McHonda engine development was broken to the point of making players despair - on top of already starting out heavily underpowered. Dat realism.

F1 2017 is fucking fantastic. They've finally patched the McLaren team mate bug too.

Being able to manage your engine components is also very nice. Do wish stuff would break randomly more often, though. I had one moment where something broke during quali and I had only limited time to get a run in. It may screw you over sometimes, but I feel like that's kinda part of it.

If you liked 2016 you should definitely pick up 2017. It has a lot of nice QoL changes.
I actually don't know what major things they can realistically improve about the offline experience. Sure they can always improve graphics and sound while trying to keep it as bug-free as possible, but killer features?
There are things like including junior feeder series, driver market changes during career and VR support, yes, but the first few are licensing hell and VR would only be a pull for a very niche audience (those prefer to play hardcore sims).

Yeah I heard about that, it was hilarious and imo they should've left some Honda power of failures option hidden in the menus. I still plan to start a new career with McLaren and have Alonso as a teammate. :)

Yep I enjoyed it and I just bought F1 2017, I just didn't want to do this at full price because it's not exactly a brand new game. I imagine F1 2018 will be a harder decision for me after it releases, because I like the T-cams in F1 games and that's where halo fucks everything up. ;)

I feel like the tire models were much improved in 2017, as well. The safety cars are still borked.

I honestly hope you can turn off the Halo in F1 2018, at least in first person camera mode.

So do i... but for safety reasons FOM might be against the depiction of 2018 F1s without a halo T-T
I hope they correct the animation bug on the animation of plugging the hot air hoses going to the tire blankets in the garage. The clipping bug makes me cringe and it's the exact same in 2017 and 2016... zero work done on that front.

They need to scenarize the interactions between driver and manager... always the same sentences is .... well it feels unfinished and repetitive.

I would imagine the Halo would be transparent in F1 2018 - Because the view on the T-Cam is just silly - it's almost as if you're driving while holahooping.
