I found it more heartwarming than hilarious, though it does have its moments. Everyone was likable except Jason. Him as a comic relief was annoying, obnoxious at all times with no off-switch. I hope he will be further developed in season 2, instead of just being a dummy that was strung along for the ride, like Chang in Community.

And that ending, whaaat? It was at the same time obvious and unpredictable. The potential! Will season 2 be as good as I think?

Season 2 is really good. Goes into a very unexpected direction. It's really hard to talk about this show openly after the season 1 finale without spoiling things.

I didn't really like the first episode when it first aired so ignored it. Then just last month I gave it another shot and binged through it in 3 days. Some great stuff!

One of my favorite new shows from last year. Clever concept and superb cast.

Kristen Bell and Ted Danson really make the show. I don't think Season 2 can possibly live up to the first, but I have enjoyed it nonetheless so far.

I think because I was so invested in Elinor's quest to be good, I didn't see it coming.
That was probably the intent
What gave it away for me was how everything was exactly what she disliked, despite her thinking it was all meant for someone else. It seemed fishy that something designed to be that perfect, would be so flawed. They did a good job of explaining that with his "first project" spiel though. That and the ranks from being on earth, the pressure to be "good", etc etc. Some people find their own hell to be every day life.Personally, being in that place would be hell for me too hahaha

Outside of an impossible to beat season 1 finale, season 2 is absolutely better.

Just don't expect Jason to get any smarter...

Just finished S1, and loved it. Did not see the twist coming at all, I suspected something fishy was going on at times but I never would have guessed that.

Kristen Bell and Ted Dansen are amazing in this. Gonna start S2 later today.

Just started watching it yesterday and I'm already halfway through the first season.

I'm freaking loving it!

I don't like that they reset it with the ending, but its hard to know what else they could have done with it

Jianyu da gawd btw, I agree his stupidity goes way too far sometimes and gets annoying but his line delivery is hilarious. plus I love those trash Florida bro stories he has

I watched part of the first season, but it was a bit too quirky and occasionally silly for me. I had too many other shows on the go, so I dropped it.

The show is freaking amazing. Dat S1 ending is hard to be topped.

Season 2 was even better IMO.

I love Eleanor and Michael, they're great. Jason still feels a bit out of place though, I agree with you OP.

PS: the forking jokes will never get old for me.

Agreed. His stupidity was too unbelievable and just out right annoying. I'd hoped that this would be toned down in the second season, but no such luck... Let's hope season 3's the charm.

I just finished binging season 2 since it went on Netflix, I guess I'll probably have to wait a year to see this next season. But I'm kind of checking out, the premise isn't really going anywhere and feels like it's mostly a vehicle for basic philosophy lessons and relationship drama now, to be honest. The jokes were charming at first but now just kind of feel hollow with how superficial they are.

Arguably the best comedy on TV right now. To anyone who hasn't seen it yet, I easily recommend hoping on the trolley.

On the surface it looked really bad but it's actually pretty funny. I didn't find it heartwarming guess I'm a heartless.

I had a hard time seeing Ted Danson the same way after Curb, but I did enjoy this for the most part.

It's no Parks and Rec tho.

It's really cheesy. corny. lame and I enjoyed every minute of it. Like you said I too found it heartwarming. Season 2 was also very good.

I feel the same way OP. I like it a lot but I don't find it particularly funny-I smile when I watch it but I don't laugh.

I think Jason says some funny shit but man they really need to dial down his stupidity at little bit at least. Its so wack. Hes great when he tells his trash Florida man stories. But then they also literally give him a sparkler to distract him in season 2. Lame

Another disappointing thing about the second season is that Adam Scott hasn't shown up again so far. Him and the bad place goons made for some great gags. The funniest the show had been in the first season

I'm enjoying it but theres a lot of wasted potential in here

Edit: wow I posted in this thread already. My tune has changed.

Same. In fact, I find the whole cast annoying except for Ted Danson. Never liked Kristen Bell.
However, the story was good enough to get me to mid-season 2. Need to get back to it!
