Yeah that was awesome. Was an easy answer to the "but what's the gaultlet in Odin's vault??" Question fanboys were asking :p

Hela really did nothing in this movie... do we know if she'll be playing Death in the Infinity War films?
She killed a LARGE portion of Asgard's population.

The Executioner really did nothing in this movie was mainly there to listen to Hela give backstory.

Am I supposed to care about a large portion of Asgard's population? they were literally faceless soldiers... and two of thor's buddies there from the other 2 movies I guess.

I just realized we didn't see Lady Sif, I thought I heard she was gonna be in it.

Would be a missed opportunity if she isn't.

She's certainly shown herself to be worthy of being asked out on a date atleast since Thor couldn't do jackshit against her and had to destroy the entire planet to stop her.

Just got back. Really enjoyed it. Might be most I've laughed at one of these.

I was kind of bummed to see the Warriors Three get taken out just like that. Volstagg and Fandral especially got taken out so damn fast. Noticed Sif was missing too and I wonder what's up with that.

It was unfortunate that Hela ultimately was just another Marvel villain, but at the same time Cate Blanchett was so enjoyable for me to watch that I still enjoyed every scene with her nonetheless.

This movie is to Thor what Winter Soldier was to Captain America. It truly defines the character outside of the context of building up to the Avengers and establishes a coherent direction for the series. If there's one MCU film that really needs a sequel it's this one. Just give Taika and Hemsworth all the money to go wild.

I do wish they just pretend Thor 1 and 2 didn't happen and this becomes the first in a Taika Thor trilogy. It'll never happen but it sure would be cool.

I love how Jeff Goldblum played himself but fit so so perfectly. I love that man.

TEXASS! lol..Floridians laughed heartily and that joke. They should be embarrassed.

Yeah..movie was a blast. Taika/Korg was fantastic. Movie was so Flash Gordon..holy shit! The first Thor movie I watched in theaters, and I couldn't be happier. Gonna have to think about where I'd put it in the MCU scale..it's definitely up there, for sure.

What a great year to be a funny book movie fan. Let's hope JL keeps up the streak..would be a shame if it fell flat with the year we've had.

Enjoyable romp for sure. Jesus, Korg had me in stitches.

Was it just me getting the wrong impression or was this originally billed (like a few years ago when it was announced) as doing a lot of stage-setting for Infinity War? Surprised at the restraint and lack of IW hinting aside from Loki absolutely stealing the tesseract and the post credits scene.

Looking forward to seeing what happens to Loki in Infinity War since The Other made it sound like Thanos was going to be gunning for him if he failed in Avengers.

Guess he's come to collect.

Yup Feige was saying it leads into IW, but that was before they had a director. I assume that all changed when he came on.

Don't recall that. Likely just internet speculation because of Thor's "visions" in his hot tub bath. Folks likely ran with it..although, he clearly states he's been investigating his "visions" for some time.

Who's to say it was supposed to be more than what we got?

So is Thor going to be without his hammer going forward?

I thought the point of letting Asgard be destroyed was that Hela's power was being fed/enhanced by Asgard itself. Its destruction makes her mortal. Thor also supposedly derives power from Asgard's existence -- will Thor take a nerf now that Asgard is gone?

I feel like they set up something very dark for Infinity War here. Based on the description of the Infinity War SDCC footage, I honestly think that the movie might begin with Thanos killing everyone on the ship, perhaps including Loki, sending Thor spiraling through space.

It was implied Thor's hammer was in infinity stone and I'm surprised they didn't reveal the last one before Infinity War unless it has to do with Black Panther but I doubt it.

Asgard Is not a place. It's the people. Guessing that'll play a part in the future..who knows.

Such a great movie. Someone else mentioned it earlier, but I think the part where Hulk was turning back into Banner in the ship was the most unsettling thing in the movie. Just something kind of body-horror about it.

Now I want to see Thunder God Thor and Hela in a Marvel fighting game somehow.

I got that "Asgard is the people". So assuming that Thor remains at uber-God status, there's a good chance that Hela isn't dead?

There was Infinity War trailer speculation that
Thanos nukes the entire ship full of Asgardians as they are trying to make their way to Earth. So presumably that would result in Thor losing some if not all of his powers?

I seriously doubt they would shit on Ragnarok's ending like that.

That'd be a bold move, for sure..we'll know soon enough.

I liked it a lot. Goldblum stole the show.

The world of imagination theme usage was fantastic.

Was I seeing things or did I catch a couple glances of the Slave One in the junk heap when Thor was initially captured after landing on the trash planet ?

Does Hulk turn back into Banner ever? Multiple times he asserts that he might not be able to regain control again, but as far as I recall the movie does not address that. Maybe there's a shot of Banner in the ending sequences and I just missed it or something.

Yikes. I didn't like it that much. It feels to me that every MCU movie is just tracing on the same pattern.
The Hulk turning into Banner moment was a standout for me. I think it has a lot of meaning in the development of the character.
Also, Odin calling Norway "home" was a really cool and beautiful little bit.

Is there now officially a love triangle between Bruce, Valkyrie and Natasha? My boy Hulk gets all the ladies.

When was there a Beta Ray statue? I didn't notice.

Outside the arena. Where Grandmaster gets projected. There's warriors faces on the sides and BRB is on the left.

Also, if yall like this movie see Taika Waititi's other films. What We Do In The Shaows and Hunt For The Wilderpeople. Smaller scale but just as funny and clever. Taika voiced Korg the funny rock guy.

Is that shitting on the ending? Or is it showing the type of threat that Thanos is?
I wouldn't mind, the whole point of Ragnarok is for Thor to save the helpless Asgardians. It would be kind of crazy to have them completely slaughtered at the beginning of Infinity War. It would kind of undermine his sacrifice and devotion and just make the whole film feel kind of futile. I can't think of many sequels where the accomplishments of the protagonist in the previous film are completely negated or wiped away.

It could just be Thor tries to distract Thanos while Loki or whoever flies all the Asgardians away. Thor gets his shit rocked, meets up with the Guardians and then things move on from there

I liked the movie a lot, but man they did Cate Blanchett dirty. She gave a great performance and you could tell she brought everything she had to the role IMO. Could have been one of the best Marvel villains, and the twist of her being Thor's sister could have helped make her even more impactful, but the story just let her down. She was so underutilized. Part of me hopes they bring her back eventually to do right by her.

Probably cause there hasn't ever been anything like this as grand in scope.
Infinity isn't a direct sequel, and Ragnarok is just one part of its whole.
