Is there a way to permanently increase your max health and stamina? Rations and meganutrients are temporary, only last for a mission or so. I completed the story but I don't remember to see anything to permanently increase max health or stamina.

Nope. Just eat food buffs at the Canteens.

Rathian, Ingot, and Bone armor has it. The skill is called health boost. You can get 200 HP w/ skill maxed and hp boosting consumables.

Nergigante down on my first attempt and without carting. I was expecting a challenge based on this thread, but he turned out to be nothing special. Honestly had more trouble with Azure Rathalos.

It's somehow part of the combo I do. Don't really know how to avoid it after a power shot
Best way is to do a dodge and fire another rapid shot > power shot. Or if you want to regen stamina while the monster is downed but still do good damage, you can wait a bit so circle doesn't arc shot. Then do Circle > R1 > R1 > Circle. It is less efficient on coatings, but the initial circle (quick shot) uses no stamina and still levels up your shot level. Actually your stamina continues to regen when you do the quickshot.

Man, I REEEEEEALLY wish we could get rid of the fixed from the items bar. The item bar is so damn crowded and cluttered with items ill never use in battle.

Man, ive NEVER used the BBQ pit outside of the tutorial. I dont fish at all, so that shit is useless, and the capture net. I dont need them nor want them on the item bar, but they cant be removed at all.

Man, there has to be a way to get those items out of there.
the radial customization is save to item load. rember to update all your load to reflect the new change.
i kept forgetting to update my iyem load after editing my radial, i ended up doing it often in quest.
now that i updated all my item load out, everything is fine now.

circle>r2>circle
or just make sure your 2nd combo shot is not circle so it dont arc shot

I absolutely love how the developer thought of certain things, like auto crafting of potions, antidote, tranq bombs etc.

But is there a way to enable this for traps like shock traps and such?

While in the crafting menu, there are check boxes next to each craftable item and you can hit triangle (I think) to check it for autocrafting. Though I think one of the traps doesn't have one next to it for some reason. If that's what you mean, then I'm not sure.

Oh, does that actually trip people? I spam that sometimes especially in Arenas since it's a smaller room.

My regular co-op partner is a bow guy and when he uses it, I really have to keep an eye out to avoid it.

I usually run Charge Blade, and that's not so bad. When I play Insect Glaive friendly arc shot pulls you right out of the sky, it's awful.

I take back my assessment on Gunlance being underpowered. Watched a combo guide, built appropriate armor. Probably the easiest time I've ever had breaking parts on monsters. Part breaking skill even lets me solo break parts with 4 people, which is crazy hard otherwise.

Plus you look like a gundam made of animal meat.

Mind linking the guide? In all my years playing I've never tried it.

I think those don't have checkboxes because autocraft only triggers on picking up a component and they don't have any components you pick up?

Wow, I cut Uragaan's tail for the first time with my Dual Blades. I think that thing is not very tough as most of others cuz of its roll is slow and predicable.

word of advice, it might be quite hard to make his set because he's using 3x crit boost jewels and 1 weakness exploit jewel base on what i can tell ea skill the gear peice already have.
he does have non elemnt boost jewel too but it seems fairly common drop on tier 2 temper investigation (hr30), as all my friends have it now.

the bow extra charge skill is a jewel he have too but it is useless on bow walljump atk, as charge lv will not inc walljump atks

is there some sort of timer or cooldown in terms of how often you can mount monsters?

Thanks, will keep that in mind. I'm actually farming for the non elemental, crit boosts and weakness exploits for my blos axe build as well right now, figure by the time i get it done I many have enough. Been mainly helping my friends catch up (convinced my brother to main horn and now my 6 friends and I fight over who gets to group with him) and farming Triple threat for $ and decos.

After playing most the game now with gunlance and bow I started making support oriented sword and shield sets and am having a blast. I wish my set had more sockets to get more wide range in there but its going ok so far. Sword and shield is just too much fun sometimes I can easily get mounts, easily paralyze things, relatively easily stun things (so long as someone lets me hit the head), and now I feel like a hunting horn buffing and healing people.

Now i'm also firmly in the fashion hunting phase as well and am in love with the Damascus chest and try to work it into all my sets regardless of its utility.

Too much fun!

What's your build? I'm using the full Uragaan set, with a Guard Level 2 charm and the Nerg or Rath Gulance.

With the Uragaan 3-piece bonus for blocking unblockables, Partbreaker rank 3, and rank 5 Guard, i basically don't have to move. For anyone. Ever. If I don't want to.

Dodogama for the Artilltery, Uragaan for part breaking. Might get an exploit weakness charm/piece. Haven't bothered with guard(yet), as I haven't killed too many endgame elders yet.
I think i'm able to offer you guys some insight on the GL.

My build is (and i think something like this is probably the best)

Weapons is Eradication Flame (High base raw, not negative crit) and you should do the wide sweep infinite.
Dragonking eyepatch
Dober mail B
Nergigante Vambraces A
Neegicante Coil B
Nergigante greaves A
Exploiter charm 1

Decorations are:
Challenger Jewel
Sheath jewel (x3)
Attack Jewel

Note that if i had the decorations i wanted i'd have
Challenger Jewel (x2)
Attack Jewel (x2)
Weakness exploit jewel
That would let me replace my amulet with the crit charm (for more crit damage)

In all my skills are
Nergi Hunger (set bonus)
Attack Boost lv6
Agitator lv4
Weakness exploit lv3
Quick sheath lv3
Maximum Might lv

And for the perf decorations it'd be
Attack Boost lv7
Agitator lv5
Weakness exploit lv3
Critical Boost (dunno what level it'd be)
Maximum might lv1
(No quick sheathe so commit to blocking)

I think guard is unecessary, knockback or stamina drain is not a problem even against most 1shot moves (even then you should just not get hit by those at all)

Artillery is only good (IMO) if you're using the the Royal burst gunlance (Only lv 4 shelling normal gl), with Capacity boost and spamming the Burst fire infinite.

Shelling outside of hitting bounce spots is just bad, it can't scale well at all, does less damage than just doing a guard poke and it destroys your weapon's sharpness.

And Wyvern's fire horrible too despite looking amazing so the benefit provided by artillery is wasted on it.
I will say tho that since shelling is so bad to scale you can afford to go all in the defensive aspects of a build so that's a plus.

Sorry for the wall of text and remember this is only my opinion from my tests and it shouldn't get in the way of you playing the way that you want to with the items you want to.

But that still doesnt solve the problem.

It actually creates a new problem if your a person that has 7 item loadouts(like me) with the radial menu switching everytime you switch a load out. and that doesnt even help the fact that if you add a item that you intend to use once for that specific battle, like a Ice mantle. Your only going to use that for one enemy, no point even adding that to a radial slot long term and taking up a slot. Plus all of my slots are taken up in the radial menu. I got a tab for healing/crafting, a tab for buffs/crafting, and one for gadgets/crafting, with the last tab for communication. It took me like a good hour setting up those item load outs plus their radial menus.
It doesn't work that way. Your mantle dynamically changes on the radial menu.

I have all four radial menus configured and never need to change them. They allow me to emote, craft traps and ammo, set traps, and use items without ever needing to touch the item bar. There are more than enough slots on the radial menus for everything you need without ever having to change them. Try it!

Flash pods are honestly OP as all hell in this game.
I'm actually wondering if there is a bug in the game making them so effective. There is a skill (blindsider?) to increase their effectiveness, but they always work every time regardless. Unless the skill simply increases the stun time.

Other than the monster drooling purple, is there any other indication that the monster is poisoned? I was considering making a Rathalos set that would help me keep monsters poisoned by my HBG.

Side-question: What are the skills that would increase Normal Ammo damage?

The the dot damage on them is the other indication.
For normal ammo the Normal Shot SKILL and any generic attack increase (and crit boost if you're build for crit)
