If one of you guys goes to the event at Gallery Nucleus on March 17th, he must ask about Binary Domain 2.

So clarify something, is this event being held by the RGG Dev team or is it being held by SEGA EU/Localization team?

Its a fleshed out version of 6. So if you hated it in 6 you might still hate it here. They've added way more weapons to the mix and the game as a whole feels way smoother and faster combat wise than 6. Download the demo to give the combat a try, that should give you an idea if its for you or not, they have enough unlocked to get a feel as to whether its for you or not.

Cheers, I'll do that. I'll probably buy it eventually considering I love the series. Fighting a few people or one on one I found fine it was mainly when the game threw a bunch of dudes at you. Then again that was never super fun in the other games.

Thinking more and more about 6 I don't actually know what to think about it. Really good in some areas and really bad in others.

Well it was a flop for them that is all there is to Binary Domain.

You could also ask him about stage design for Monkey Ball and F-Zero GX (lead course designer on that).

I recall the lead programmer being really glad when it got more exposure through the PC port and the PS+ offering on PS3

I would love to see Binary Domain 2. I loved the first game. It's a shame that it wasn't at least a little commercial success for them.

Is there a site where all the Clan Creator codes have been listed? I haven't gotten to that point in the game yet but it'd be pretty useful to not have to search everywhere.

Just reached highway chase on Legend difficulty. The nightmare begins... Do you guys have any important tips?

Stay calm. Don't let losing and having to start the chapter over and over get to you. You'll quickly get to the point where you'll breeze through Lau Ka Long and his goons, and get another chance to retry the car sequence. Here are some tips someone else posted that I found helpful:

https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/56778-tips-for-car-chase-on-legend-difficulty/#comment-1492630

Additionally, you can try following some videos people posted of them getting through it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmovXHe6kBg

You can even go so far as to watch, pause, imitate, and so on. You just gotta get through it. And something worth keeping in mind: You only need to make it to the final truck ramming sequence with a lil' more than half car health and Kiryu even having the smallest amount of health left. Shoot the truck driver as much as possible (fully using heat eye of course), duck into the car as it approaches to ram you, and the car will have just enough health to take the blow. You'll be able to do one more round of shooting, and that should be enough to finish the truck driver off before he rams you again. I entered this final section with Kiryu having almost no health, and the car having just over half, and I managed to clear it by the skin of my teeth. It was a good feeling. The main thing to keep in mind is that you can still take quite a bit of damage and clear the stage (so you don't have to be absolutely perfect), but if you do take TOO much damage, you may as well save yourself the time and start over.

I just ordered it straight from Amazon Japan. Quicker and maybe cheaper for me, as PA takes longer to ship and deliver orders while my Kiwami 2 Amazon order arrived within a couple of days.

I'm kind of ashamed to admit how much time I wasted tonight translating things in Ishin using the draw function on Google translate >.>

My big ass fingers make some of the more complex stuff kind of impossible but for the most part I can do it! It's actually a little bit fun. Not at all practical for the long haul but fun to mess around with.

I've always heard you can do this, but how? Do I have to create a new account? I tried logging in using my us account to no avail.

Edit: NVM figured it out. Was shockingly easy, and cheaper than pa. Thanks for the rec! Only hold up was my bank freaking out about a jpn website lol >.<

Yeah I used Amazon.jp for the first time to import City Shrouded in Shadow and it worked perfectly. The shipping was super fast (took like 3-4 days before it arrived at my place) and they even handled customs in advance (granted you have to pay upfront for them), so no long waiting time getting a letter from customs that they have a package for me.

Yeah, its nice and simple. Just create a new account on Amazon Japan and your ready to go for March :)

Yeah, I was happy at how simple it was to use. Since other import sites tended to dump a fee on top of the game price and shipping it made more sense to the Amazon route. And City Shrouded in Shadow was a pretty great game even with its issues, I loved the Kaiju encounters. Only real issue I had with the game (bar some performance issues) was that damn 6th? chapter where
you spend so much time running up and down a boat just waiting for something, anything from happening. Then FINALLY Godzilla shows up and the chapter ends about 10 seconds later. What a tease...

Translation seems accurate. I definitely plan on destroying the common sense of Hokuto when I play the game through!

Is it really that bad? Im just before that part, in hard it was not that difficult.

The only thing that really makes it particularly bad is the game punishes you for failure by forcing you to start at the beginning of the chapter every time you lose, as opposed to being able to just retry immediately like you can on all the other difficulties. Between that and the car chase section being pretty difficult in its own right on Legend... it can end up taking quite awhile. And can lead to some tensions flaring...

So far thats been the most frustrating thing about the legendary difficulty, just last night i spent multiple 10/15 min going through text only to start a fight that almost immediately ends because this 3 guys with guns and 2 with knifes just destroyed me super quick. I can deal with high difficulty but not having a quick retry is just bad.

Its something the Ultimate Climax mode needed since... well Yakuza 1 really. Them not putting it in by Yakuza 3 was rather annoying as having to sit though the load and save screens over and over was more annoying than playing the missions themselves. I just don't like it when they take you out of the game like that.

I was thinking about Yakuza 0 yesterday and was wondering if there are movies and/or documentaries that talk about the economic bubble or show Tokyo during that time. Do you guys have suggestions?

I really liked the game too, besides all its flaws. I'm a huge fan of the Disaster Report games and I love the kaiju eiga, so this game was like a match made in heaven. That chapter you mentioned was a huge tease, yeah.

I actually liked it at first, that it was pretty calm and you spend some time with your partner, since all the other chapters were quite action packed. And the whole love story between the scientist and the guy working on the ship was quite hilarious too, although a bit too long. If the Godzilla attack would've been at least a little longer, the chapter would've definitely redeemed itself.

Yeah. It seemed like it'd be going at a pace at first until it started to drag on too long and then the action was over too soon. But thankfully a later chapter has you
stuck in a building as Godzilla and Mech Godzilla duke it out. One of my favourite chapters of the game. So at least I wasn't let down in the end!
. I also loved Disaster Report 1 and 2 (load times are annoying in the third one, still need to finish it) and I can't wait for 4. Still remember when that was due out around the same time as Yakuza Dead Souls in Japan originally :(

Anyway, back to Yakuza talk... not long now until the demo for Hokuto drops, getting more hyped as it draws nearer!

Having purchased 3/4 back on PS3 and never really giving them a fair shake, I picked up Yakuza 0 on a whim.

I am absolutely hooked. I've probably spent a good 20+ hours so far and I'm nowhere near getting bored. The pacing is nearly perfect, the action is satisfying, the stories are interesting, and there's a large slew of minigames to keep me occupied when I need a change of pace. I'm in Chapter 6 right now and can't wait to get back into it and push my Real Estate business. This is certainly the strongest a game has gripped me in years.

Oh, and Majima's introduction scene is possibly one of my favorite video game segments ever.

I'm starting to really dig Dead Souls. Even though killing zombies is repetitive as hell, the substories have ranged from heartbreaking to extremely funny
The one where Daigo was forced to dress as Majima's girlfriend was absolutely hilarious

Majima so far has been proving again why he's the best character in the series, and I can't wait to see what Ryuji's chapters are about next.

Yeah, that one side story continues to remain in my mind as maybe the best in the game. Its just really well done and Majima's dialogue makes it even better. And he's got the best hostess dialogue in the game (or maybe the series) - just choose the most jerk sounding response and be amazed that its actually the best response you could choose. And of course - Majima has that particular Karaoke performance. Ryuji is the heart of the story for me, he gets the closest thing resembling some emotional moments in an otherwise silly story. It is repetitive, and I have issues with the controls especially when the action gets intense, but I just can't hate the game, there's too much Yakuza in it for that, its still packed to the brim with content which certainly kept me playing for a very long time.

Hah, yeah, I have experimented with the hostess club and karaoke with Majima, and you're right: being a jerk is the wtg, and I love how he literally messes with the settings to create probably the hardest song ever to score 900+ pts.

I'm really curious to see how Ryuji's section plays out because
I was never under the impression that he died in Yakuza 2, but Dead Souls seems like it's implying that's what happened in the canon story
So if that's the case, I can imagine a more somber tone for his part.

As for the actual gameplay, I think the shooting is alright, but what does annoy me is how in free mode, the zombies just will not stop coming. It's an endless horde, so you're killing wave after wave without any breaks, which gets old fast. If they had toned that back a bit, I'd probably be fonder of the gameplay, but at the very least, there aren't any random encounters in this game so that's nice.

Overall though, I think the best part is that we're getting to see how these characters would react to a zombie apocalypse, and it's exactly how you'd think they would, lol.

I thought because they never visited his grave in the end like the others, there was a chance that he just got thrown in the slammer for all these years. Characters surviving supposed fatal injuries is almost like the norm in yakuza, so I felt like they gave themselves a way out in case they wanted to bring back Ryuji for a canon game. I guess Dead Souls shot my theory down though.

Yeah, the hordes just don't stop coming, so if your trying to do something specific in the game that doesn't involve fighting off hordes of zombies it gets rather annoying after a while. With that said, the hordes meant that I was never short for modding parts, 100%ing the modding side of Dead Souls is the easiest its ever been in the series (and probably the most worthwhile as well, outside of maybe Ishin and Kenzan for some of the optional fights).

And yeah, the characters do react exactly as you'd expect in a zombie outbreak. Kiryu's reaction is the best, I won't spoil it since you've not got to it yet, but its very... Kiryu!

I'm a decent way through Saejima's section in Yakuza 4 and I can believe how good this game is

I've played through 1, 2, 3, 0, and Kiwami, and if 4 keeps this quality all the way through it's probably going to end up as my favourite

The Saejima stuff has rules so far and I adored the Akiyama part. It's a good, good game
