Alright fuck it. Bought for the X, gonna see if I have any issues and if I do I'll just refund it.

Take it slow, soak up the atmosphere and everything that the game gives you. It only opens up after 8-10 hours and many many things do you still learn in your 30 and 40s of hours playtime.

Let it unfold itself and just enjoy it and you will have a serious game of the year candidate.

Hey guys - I'm sure most of you have already seen the first section of gameplay, but I did a livestream earlier today on IGN showcasing various routes and approaches to situations, and how those choices impact the game. Feel free to check it out if you don't mind mild spoilers. T-minus 3 hours until launch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYJwoL1Xbw4

Interesting.

Even if I'm 45 hours in the game and only got my horse now, that sounds like something I have to see. :)

Question, any news regarding the huge frame pacing problems of the Xbox One and PS4 version?

Man, the way you talk about the game is getting me insanely hyped especially since I like to take my time with the games too.

I really want to keep playing MH but I think I maybe have to put that off early.

Well, let's be clear, this isn't really my favorite style of game. I am interested in the idea of it. But right away I see some red flags. And let's be clear, this is something that is part of the core element of the game. Animation like this pulls me out. The combat also looked pretty slow and clunky. I would try a demo if I could, maybe my opinion would change when playing. This does happen. Sometimes a game plays much better than it looks. But I don't want to burn $60 to find out. Just saying I'm disappointed in the sloppy animations. They are distracting.

Really wish more games had demos for situations like this. More impressions will help I suppose.
Have you played For Honor? It has some of the absolute best weapon combat animations hands down.

But I can't wait until this unlocks and the patch is done. The first person combat seems really complex and compelling.
I am going sink hundreds of hours into this I already know.

Thanks for the impressions folks!

The thing is, I can really see how some people ruin their whole play through if they start it with false expectations. It's a huge game and you get many things first after a long time of play and if you open up, just soak in the atmosphere, take it slow and let the game do what it does, it will get you, once it got you, it won't let you go anymore. The main quest is a great example of how to introduce new players slowly to the features of the game, but also don't forget to do side missions and figure stuff out, the more you dive into it the better it gets, but getting to that point can be really hard for some people, it just depends with which mindset you start it and what exactly you expect. :)

Any word on a fix for the frame pacing issues on Xbox One and from reports it is happening on the PS4? I want to buy your game and so do many others, but many here will not buy it if the frame pacing issues are not fixed or at least knowing you guys are looking into fixing it. Game looks fantastic, but users here that are currently playing on console are mentioning the frame pacing is a BIG issue and is taking away from the enjoyment of the game.

Would appreciate some response! Thanks!

This man gets it. This is not a game that you can speed through. Try to actually take your time and roleplay with it... you know, since it's a roleplaying game.

Not ignoring this question, just don't think I can answer it properly since I've been primarily playing on PC, and not console. The times I have been playing on console has been on a PS4 Pro, and frame pacing wasn't any different than other open world games that I'd played on console. It didn't stand out to me as out of the ordinary from what people would be used to.

That seems to be a theme with some youtubers I've been following playing this as well. They say after a few sessions of learning the game slowly, they can't stop playing it. And when they're not streaming or playing it they're thinking about it.

That sounds perfect, and I can't wait!

I am annoyed.

I am annoyed.

I am backer 555 or something like that out of a gazillion of this game and I can't get a fucking option to link the game to my Steam account.

Dennis, you logged in here? https://www.kingdomcomerpg.com/qf/en/ramjet/registration/profile

I have a Steam key displayed on my profile after logging in, as well as my physical copy's tracking info.

They sent me an email well over a year ago to make an account on their site and claim my backer rewards. Did you ever do that? Check your email, or maybe even the Kickstarter site if not.
I did but it would not recognize my account when I tried today so I signed up again but still with the same email account from my original Kickstarter pledge so I don't know what the problem is.

Oh, I have one in-game question.
Where can we find the pre order items? I'm 45 hours in and have absolute no idea. :D
Do I have to buy these armor sets or do I just get them?

I hope the frame pacing problems are getting fixed in the future, it's not unplayable of course, but I don't remember that I ever played another game where it is this bad.

I appreciate the response, but what about the link I sent you via PM several days ago from the video Edge posted showing the bad frame pacing?

EDIT: Edge reposted the video just above my post just now and anyone seeing that can see the frame pacing issues.

Since you are playing on PC mainly and you mentioned you have not noticed any different from other open world games on PS4 Pro, there are people here that have seen it on the PRO and on Xbox One X. Is the team even looking into it or is just based on the fact that you don't notice it so it is not being looked into? I apologize if that is coming across a bit rough, but it is painfully obvious based on the video posted that there is a frame pacing issue and if the team is not even looking into it, I know me and some others will just pass on the game for now.

I guess what I am asking in the most simple way that I can think of:

"Is the team aware of the issue and/or are they looking into the issue based on the video's provided?".

Watching another stream where someone is just roaming the fields. I have to say, they've modeled the nature quite well. Looks pretty similar to some natural areas I've been to (in Eastern Europe).

So, I haven't spoken to the team about this specific issues, so I'm going to speak in general terms here - Based on the last 50+ games I've launched, development teams after release shift into priority bug fixing mode. If this indeed turns out to be a widespread issue, then it'll turn into a priority, and more resources will be poured into fixing that. Sorry I can't be more helpful, trying to answer things as best I can w/o sitting with the dev team.

How you can see it in my videos and gifs is it all the time in the game, everywhere and everytime, constantly, for every single copy.
So if 40000 clicks on an Xbox DVR video isn't enough indication on how important it is for the (potential) players then I'm sure they will let you (or the developers) know via social media in the next days.

But great in general to have an official response here about this, it's a start. :)

I think that the discussion about Vavrá views is still allowed and it's a victory that the OP have it clearly stated that the director of the studio is a racist.
Now, it make me really sad because the idea behind the game was a dream for me. I would LOVE to see an actual medieval rpg without any fantasy element, as i really like the setting. But you know, i cannot give 1 $ to somebody who would basically want me removed from his continent or sees me as a civilisational threat, without speaking about what he implied about black/latino violence in the US and his support for Trump. But i don't consider that people buying the game are supporting those views, at all.

I think the main issue now, and the most intresting one, will be to see until what extent the ideological framework of the alt.right will be in the game. I'm pretty sure there will be a ton, especially since the current political climate of xenophobia in Central Europe.
This is basically where I am with it. This game seems really interesting to me, and I want to play it, but Vavra is a fucking alt-right shitbag, and I refuse to put any money in his pocket. What I'll likely end up doing is either buy it used, or wait for it to end up in a Humble Bundle so I can make sure the money goes to a worthy cause and make sure he doesn't see a damn thing. That is, unless his abhorrent views helped to shape the story the game tells, then I'll just skip it altogether.

Game looks really interesting for its grounded & authentic historical depiction as well as the sim aspects (eating & sleeping, etc.).

Thing is, all the footage I've seen has the game being played with a standard controller.

Any feedback on how it plays / feels using keyboard & mouse?

Thanks. But to be blunt for a minute, that video showing the frame pacing issues has been viewed 40,000 times. I don't know why you would not let the team know that someone brought up an issue? Based on your response, you have not let the team know about the issue and while I understand bug fixing is important, but when a video is viewed 40,000 times and it was brought to your attention of the said issue I would think you would let someone on the team know about.

I am also wondering, why did you PM me asking for a link to the video if your intention was not to let the team know about it? I assumed that when a person from the team asks for a link to a video showing a issue with the game that you would turn over that video to the team to look into or at minimum have them take a look. The fact that it has 40,000 views on Xbox DVR, that is potentially 40,000 potential buyers that are now aware of the issue. Maybe you don't think it is important, but obviously the amount of hits that video has shows that it is important.

Sorry if you feel that I am being a bit blunt, but it just does not make sense that you have not bothered to let the team know about this issue. What it going to take, 100,000 hits on that video? Even more people reporting the issue? We have PS4 Pro and Xbox One X owners that are playing reporting and posting video's of the issue? At what point do you make the decision to let the team know about? Why did I waste my time responding to your PM asking for the video if you were going to do nothing with it?

Again, I appreciate devs coming to post on forums, but I hope you understand that it is a little frustrating when we report a issue, provide links to videos and the team is not even informed of it for whatever reasons, just does not come across very positive.

Be calm.

Not getting defensive, just being blunt - your videos got so many views because they're breaking embargo on captured content on the game. I did send the videos across but have yet to receive a response. Everyone's crunching on the game still, so people are very busy. ^_^

Thanks! It is good to hear the team still pounding away on the game. There are so many people that are interested in the game and every little fix, even small ones are greatly appreciated.

I wonder how long reviewers have had the game for to review, as it's quite a large game to go through.

Based on the frantic and demanding tone of the rest of this post, it kind of doesn't seem like that's the case.

Well, when someone posts that they appreciated devs coming to post, that does not mean we should not challenge them and bring things to their attention. I am looking to be a paying customer and when he originally said he did not bring it to the teams attention, it makes me wonder why and question as to why he has not. But to his credit, he came back and posted that in fact he did send the video over.

You don't need to be so aggressive in order to challenge someone. It's also better to question in order to uncover truth before finger pointing and accusing.

My little brother is rather interested in this and so am I.

Will be watching the reviews closely, and the performance on the original Xbox, I have an X but I don't want him to have a bad experience....hoping here it's solid.

I generally agree, but AFAIK the goal of OTs is generally to discuss the content of the game itself with people who are playing it or at least interested in playing it. So it seems to me it would be fair game to discuss how content in the game may or may not reflect Varva's shittiness. And I hope people do this, but using specific examples from the game rather than generalities or speculation (which have their place but, well, we've had more of that than is productive on this topic).

For talking about Varva's shittiness in and of itself, a new thread would seem more appropriate to me.

i get that, but per the mod notes in the OT, this thread seems to server both purposes
