I don't see LISK as a temporary opportunity. To me it's one of the closest competitors to be a real thing.

You are right to make that bet. Im personally just using it temporarily because its a safe swing trade. I wouldnt ever feel like Im bagholding LSK because of its obvious future and potential. I really only swing trade on coins I wouldnt mind holding long term anyway to prevent anxiety during dips etc. Right now though I really want that ETH. Im betting on Decentralized exchanges for 2018 personally.

Damn at that Bitgrail /Nano "fuckup". Reading up on the details is truly something. In 5 years, you can write a book about 10 or so exchanges with their blowups / heists / stolen coins etc. Add Bitconnect in the Epilogue.

It's also not that people lazily left their NANO there. Many tried to withdraw a while ago but got no confirmations (some probably still were lazy). Another point for team #Don'tLetYourCoinsOnExchanges

Haha, I remember someone saying "Remember when bitcoin crashed and it didn't recover for 3 years?". Seems relevant.

Watching for a short term double top on 4h timeframe later today/tomorrow, then down to 700-750 and back up from there. No guarantees.

so basically see if we can breakout from 900 and if not good time to sit out and let some chips fall? what site do you use to see 4 hour candles? stupid gdax doesn't have them

cryptowat.ch. The second top could go higher than the current one. Watching for possible divergence between the peaks. I probably would only attempt to trade 20% of my stack on this move, if anything. I don't think it will be ultimately necessary to trade this.

Are you talking about a double top from 910?
I've watched exactly one 'beginner's guide to analyzing market trends' video

Looks like it's diving down to 7500 with bounces scattered around 8.4, 8.3, and 8.1....don't be fooled by those.

But who knows, maybe resistance comes at 8 instead of diving all the way to 7.5

Brandson, you still eyeing the 700-750 range at this point? Think it could go a bit further?

This blow my mind: There are more millionaires in the world than there are bitcoins. So if every millionaire wanted to own 1 BTC, they can't. There aren't enough to go around.

Looking for a bounce to 8600-8700, then considering selling some ETH. If no bounce, not sure on strategy yet. Might sell if 7500 breaks. Mainly just watching. Still leaning towards not trading these moves but we'll see.

Yeah, that's the irony.

Though... we probably could have called that since Asia woke up around that time, probably saw the low prices and decided, "Time to buy."

So I'm late to the whole Bitgrail fiasco. Can someone just clarify for me on if my Nano is safe in my wallet and only those who had it sitting on the exchange were affected?

So it goes without saying that the Bitgrail thing is a warning sign that all of y'all need to keep your god damn money off the exchange. If you don't plan on trading something for the next 3 days, get it the fuck off. Don't think just because it's a large exchange you're safe. Bittrex most recently started withholding people's money because they needed to get verified.

If you hold BTC, Ethereum and ERC20 tokens in whatever you consider be be significant quantities, please invest in a hardware wallet.

Nano S Ledger is the best IMO since it supports the most currencies but Trezor and Keep Key also are popular alternatives and are fine if you're mostly just a BTC/ETH/LTC type of person. I can't stress this enough, you literally have no excuses if you lose money in crypto.

- Don't trade on exchanges that have a history of shenanigans
- Don't leave your money on an exchange unless you plan on trading with the next couple of days

I'm debating stopping trading LTC, What do people feel is the best coin to trade following the main BTC trend. I liked LTC as it was prone to overreaction and paralleled BTC very closely (With a time lag no less, for seeing quick changes early). But it seems like there's been some whales throwing around their weight a bit too much in LTC lately, and it's become unpredictable for swings at least. Though I'm slowing my swing trading a bit now, as the risk is a bit too high for the small rewards. often barely outpaying the market buy fees if I can't get a limit order in at the right place.

Looking back on some of my trades when I first started...eesh

I traded a fair amount based on $ value at the time instead of sats. Which leads to the classic but quite risky 'buy high sell low' strategy.
