My first ever fight stick arrived this morning.
I played with it for about an hour. Obviously will take a lot of work to get used to it, but I have been really enjoying using it. First game I couldn't even land a single Kamehameha, but after messing around in practice mode for half an hour I was soon able to use most attacks fairly regularly. R1 being to the left of L1 will take some getting used to.
I just couldn't get used and didn't like using the d-pad after basically ignoring it since the PS1 and found using the left stick quite inaccurate at times for things like movement and blocking. I have no doubt that the fightstick will take me many weeks to learn, but hopefully by the end of it I will find it a much more natural way to play than forcing myself to try to use the d-pad.
Good to know, the hitbox mod needed to replace the exe, and play offline.yeah, not problem. at least with music/sound mods. Not sure about anything else.
Sound mods you literally just drop a file into the directory, it's that easy. I think it's the same for texture mods as well.Good to know, the hitbox mod needed to replace the exe, and play offline.
The Yamcha theme was good, but the ending theme... godlike.

Yeah I'm on PS4. I actually saw some three bars last night for the first time after complaining in here, haha. I forgot to check my damn connection again, though!!On PS4 I basically only got 4-5 bar connections. I Xbox I see everything. If all you're seeing are low bar connections, it very well may be on your end. That said, if you're playing on Xbox it could just be an Xbox issue. I see lots of low-bar connections on Xbox for some reason.
Are you playing on pc? Quests aren't working for many people there.Well, quests are busted for me lol, no matter what I do I can't complete them, I perform the action but they stay there as if I had done nothing. Seriously Bamco, you need to start communicating...
PS4. Quests have been busted for me for a while now... I don't really know what to say, it'd be good if Bandai and ASW said something at least and communicated on their progress on fixing the online and now these quests. Are you playing on pc? Quests aren't working for many people there.
Same, didn't have a problem with them until two days ago and yesterday.Well, quests are busted for me lol, no matter what I do I can't complete them, I perform the action but they stay there as if I had done nothing. Seriously Bamco, you need to start communicating...

Sick comeback - love your Beerus neutral.
Can you always cancel blockstun into Vanish?! I just saw you do it and my mind was blown. It's at 1:41.
At the start of the match, you have 0 meter but access to both assists. Near the end of a match, when youre brought down to your last character, you cannot use assists but may have build up some meter. That's why you want your first character (called 'point' in fighting game lingo) to be able make good use of assists, without having to rely on meter for damage. Your last character ('anchor') is the opposite. You want them to be able to put on a strong offense even without the help of assists, and be able to turn meter into damage easily (for example, through extended supers, powerful H-specials or efficient vanish combo extensions). It's also more important for your anchor to have a good assist than for your point, as the latter might die before they even get to use it. Your middle character ('mid') has a bit of the requirements of both.Noob boob here. What's the significance of ordering your 3 fighters.and what types should be in each slot

This is mostly MvC theory as far as I know, where you cant swap the order of your characters as easily. In DBZ, you might want to swap in your 3rd guy 20 seconds into the match, so the roles are not as prohibitive. Play whoever you like, but these are things to keep in mind when picking an order for your team.

Maaaan do I wanna buy this but as a casual player that would be able to play this literally every now and then I'm not sure it if it would be worth it. Is there a platform for casual players in this game?
As someone who played both MvC and this game competitively, the order definitely doesn't matter -as- much, but I still think some of it applies mostly when you're in major disadvantage. So I try to keep my order of my teams in an order where in the worst scenario, I can make a comeback whether it's with 2 or 1 character left.

There will be plenty of people playing this game at a low level. It's incredibly popular and the levels are already shaking out pretty well. I don't think you have to worry. Plus there's a lot of single player content to go through if you just wanna beat up on some stuff every once in a while.
I'll be getting this at the end of the month and will be taking it to an event mid-march, how long does it take to unlock all the characters roughly? I generally quite competent in fighters (Placed 3rd at a convention tourney of Guilty Gear Rev 2 with Ramlethal) and if it's grindy unlocks I have a Turbo Controller on stand-by for that. I should be able to unlock everything in time, right?
If you're on the ground, you can duck it. Otherwise try a level 3 if your character can.How does one deal with Tien's Chiaotzu level 3? When I practiced against it in Training mode, I thought the answer would be Vanish on reaction, but that's not it because Chiaotzu will just zip towards you anyways if you were close enough to Tien when he did it.

If you're in the air, I think you can double jump too, but if they just wait for you to double jump they can get you.
So vanish or duck (on the ground)
Careful we're not fishing for that activation though...Oh, I also just realized that Sparking Blast will completely avoid it in the air, too. Expensive answer, depending on the situation.
Anyone happen to have any tips for my team: 16/A.Gohan/Tien.
Gohan's mediocre assist actually works pretty well at extending 16's dunks. I can dunk, assist, and do another air combo into a second dunk.
Tien was the first character I chose as a main, but now I'm starting to struggle a little more to get him working with the others.
They're just little achievements, they don't serve any purpose other showing up on your player card. I think it's in Player Info that there's a tab with the full list and their requirements.
Just small in-game achievements. I don't think they lead to anything, but they're displayed at the bottom of your Player Card. In the main menu, you can check what you need to do to gain one. They're a variety of tasks ranging from playing a certain character a number of times, to playing arcade, to whatever.
Oh wow, I just saw your username. We've fought several times; cool to see you're someone on ResetEra. GGs.ggs flux I'd say we should play a longer set but that shit doesn't work I guess.
I would bring A.Gohan in the point position(Nakkiel plays him in this spot) and 16 as your anchor. Tien (in mid) has the assist abilities to extend your air combos with A.Gohan.
I think Tien works best in mid. He has a lot working against him at the anchor slot (losing raw health; kikoho vs sparkling blast).

can vouch for HRAP 4. That stick is quality, I just wish it was easier to mod the stick art.
Hmm interesting. My original thoughts were that 16 is really good without meter and benefits a lot from combo extensions with the assists, then Adult Gohan comes in with meter and can power up easily at the end of every single combo with the meter 16 built, then Tien can mop up and potentially kill anything with 60% health or less with his level 3 once I land any sort of combo.
That is a good point about sparking blast though, it does kinda mess with the level 3.
