Where does it say for ps4 on the website? All it says is PC,Xbox and switch. Details for other platforms soon.
It's being published by Team17, they already said it's coming to PS4.

And ya this was announced for Xbox in like 2014...doesn't look that hot

This looks like a unity game with store purchased assets. It just doesn't have the polish.
I understand the look they are going for but even games that try to replicate the style of the 80s and 90s polish off games with design and art with current standards, practices, and features.

A reminder to everyone in this thread that we are doing a Switch version of The Takeover (we showed an early build at TGS), and will have release details and some cool associated surprises soon.

Awesome! My kids have been itching for something to get their Streets of Rage fix, so we'll definitely keep an eye out.

That's... definitely an art style going on in that piece of digital entertainment.

I want another Dynamite Cop. Or even a new Streets of Rage, but I'd honestly prefer Dynamite Cop solely because of how crazy Dynamite Cop is.

The manual is a fantastic read, as well. Only in the world of Dynamite Cop could someone become a Navy SEAL by drop-kicking a referee in the NFL.

Horrible art style, I do not like the way it looks at all. Shame as I really miss the genre.

i legitimately love that it looks like 90s cg renders come to life

Exactly. This is why the asset flip comment doesn't sit well with me.

This game reminds me of the Killer Instinct 1 renders. It's fresh that way.

It isn't Paprium, but I do not think it is trying to be.

PS. I wish the Sega Ages version of Dynamite Deka/Die Hard Arcade would get a PS2 Classics release.

Game looks interesting.

Really dont get how people think this game looks bad.

This looks better than most generic big budget AAAA 12K pixel games.

Damn it looks even worse in motion. The aesthetics look like they're coming straight from early-gen U3 generic characters assets. Not for me, but the world needs more beat em ups and hopefully the gameplay is really good for people interested in it

That horrid Adult Swim art style combined with the try-hard craaaazy™ nostalgia stuff made me hit stop quickly...and I completely love Streets of Rage, Final Fight and all that.

There are several other projects in this style out there and they all look way more appealing to me personally.

I normally avoid being negative in these threads, but I watched the trailer last night and thought it looked atrocious.
It looks like a shovelware game rapidly cobbled together to cash in on a craze.

I am also not a fan of the digitized graphics, wasn't at the time, and not now. But hey, the genre needs more entries so will keep an open mind.

Any old SoR fans, Mother Russia Bleeds is worth a look. It's really difficult, but I had some good fun with it.

Nice! Does the game have the option to play alongside a bot partner? Such an often sadly absent feature - Streets of Rage Remake spoiled me a tad by being one of the few in the genre to include it.

No art style has made me feel such discomfort since And Yet It Moves.

Many thanks to posts with cool videos from other beat-em-up games.

The animations are stiff. The designs are ugly. This kind of thing hurts the chances for better attempts at the already niche genre.

There were games like this in the 90s of course, but why imitate those?

If we're gonna play intentionally fugly beat em ups, I'd rather play this:

It's way more 90s, and has *some* kind of appeal.
