I'm trying to charge Gohan and Ginyu's. I managed to finally do it, but with only R2, but that is super awkward to do since that button is on the far side of the controller. I wish I could just hold L+M.

Are you talking about Adult Gohan's or Kid Gohan's? I think the version of Adult Gohan's where you can spend more meter is actually done with different buttons than the level 1. I don't have the game booted up but I remember having to switch to like H+S or something to get the version I could spend multiple meters on.

Hah, I've been tapping the buttons for Ten's like a fool. Nice catch.

Yup, it's H+S for multiple bars.

Omg someone actually just rage quit on me. Like, not questionably maybe a disconnect rage quit. An actual stop playing in the middle of the match and quit rage quit.

Why would you rage quit against me? I'm fucking garbage.
Was it me? :P

I definitely had to put my controller down at one point I was so frustrated. I had such a bad night. Just getting bodied over and over.

I have no idea how to defend, apparently, even though I thought I was getting there. And of course actually connecting blows is impossible since that means I'm getting knocked around non-stop.

Then I practiced combos for a while. It felt productive! I think I might be able to semi reliably pull some off now, should I actually land anything. But...

Grr.

God so I'm at the point where I get comboed, knocked to the ground, then I get the pressure put on me. I try block but I get mixed up with an overhead I didn't expect or go for a 5M that wiffs. Then I'm punished and sent into another combo. I reached a skill ceiling, basically. I'm Android level.....but am on a losing streak due to the crazy pressure game people have been playing. Assists extending combos added to this makes things worse. How have y'all delt with some of this stuff?
Throughout Marvel history, the #1 answer has been to evade moves so you don't have to block. Having to block is always bad in fighting games.

Yo whoever told me I just need to hold the buttons down on stick to charge a super was lying, I'm still just getting Level 1s. I tried pressing and holding L2 even though it's all the way on the far side of the stick and it's still not doing it. I want to be able to use my characters to their full potential.

I also still can't do jump cancel combos from the ground.

For Adult Gohan on pad with default controls, R1 (or L+M) will only use one meter, you have to use R2 (or H+S) and hold it. Several other characters also have different supers depending on which buttons you press as well.

How do I avoid being punished after 2m 5m combo opener gets blocked?
Use assists and/or any special moves you may have that are relatively safe. Sometimes a regular 5S might work alright too, but you have to be careful of reversal superdash. Can also try to stagger a 5H, but that's more unsafe if they block so YMMV.

Any tips for someone who can sometimes pull off down right R1 etc flawlessly then other times just fail to do it ever?

I am horrendously bad at fighting 16. Feels like he has massive normal range and the armor on his H just destroys me.

I almost want to pocket him myself and see how people handle him, but I'm not sure if I want to drop frieza for it.

Hard to give effective advice on something like that, but something that worked for me growing up was practicing the motion with your thumb back and forth in practice mode until it becomes natural. From down to right on the D pad and viceversa repeatedly.

It's going to be weird to have to remember that I have to use H+S for Gohan's Level 1 when I use L+M for everyone else.
It'll be good practice if you plan on testing out other characters. Piccolo does Special Beam Cannon with L+M and Hellzone Grenade with H+S, for example.

I think that's a level 1 Gohan
I think it's 7 only. I couldn't get the 5S to combo after the 2S at the beginning unless I was level 7, when I tried it out.

Hows the PS4/PC lobby system for others? I'm playing on Xbox One atm and I get so many random lobby disconnects that it drives me insane.

On PS4 in Japan it works almost flawlessly, as long as you don't want to play against friends!

I don't think I've had a single lobby dc that wasn't caused by a long rest in standby. Matchmaking itself is quick and most d/cs are obviously rage quitters.

However, ring matches and arena bave been completely borked for me. My brother and I finally managed to get into a ring match together for the first time this weekend.

I still find superhard to find a classified match... maybe people just don't play them in my room? lol
Because when it happens, it runs with 0 lag.
Some country/room suggestions?

Now I'm learning to use SSGSS Goku and loving it, may put it in my team and say goodbye to C18 so it would be

Black Goku
SSGSS Goku (was C18 until now)

I know it's probably common knowledge, but if Ginyu has 3 bars, and charges his level 1 super to level 3, he can still DHC into a teammates level 1, even though you technically have 0 meter.

How did you bypass it? The only way I've managed to get it to work with my friends is to restart the game (and even then it's not a 100% reliable workaround).
weirdly enough after getting the "no room found" message i changed my fighter ID and then returned where we met and then it worked and it isn't a coincidence, every previous attempt before i decided to change my name ended in failure and after changing, it worked in one go.

I'm now using snapbacks amd assists in my game. Improving feels great in a team game, so much to learn. Snapbacks are especially satisfying when you yank their weakest back in for the kill haha

Is there a way friends can easily share saved replays with one another? Outside of directly recording the matches I mean.

Welcome to the end game. Hit or get hit. Be the one putting pressure on then.

Otherwise use reflects or vanishes but that's not a reliable solution

Reflect is like the wonkiest shit ever. Sometimes people are knocked back to the other side of the screen almost, other times it does hardly anything. I had a match against an A18 player where I was reflecting quite a lot to try and get her off me, and it just did not work for shit lol. Several times in that match I was literally spamming 3-4 reflects as fast as possible in a row, and none of them whiffed because A18 was back in range and attacking in time for the next reflect

Captured this from Friday. You can feel the salt oozing from the other side of the internet. xD

Pulled that on a couple people last night. I'm sure they were claiming shenanigans going from lvl 3 Milky Cannons to Black's lvl 3 with only 3 bars. xD EDIT: I guess I had 4 bars!

Also i swear guard cancel assist switch or whatever its called is bunk, never works when i want it to online but maybe its just lag
Make sure you have meter to do it.

So, I've gotten my first "hate mail" via PSN.
I was playing ranked and unfortunately during it my door bell rang. I had to quit.
I understand that my opponent doesn't know that but it's always surprising to me through how many hoops people are willing to jump just to send some hate towards someone.

Had friends over Saturday night and fired DBFZ for some post Six Nations (big rugby championship in Europe) fun and we all had a blast. Even friends who don't like fighters but love DBZ (I mean who doesn't?) were having a great time thanks to the auto combos and special moves. Damnit this game is good.

I swear the minute I hit Red Ribbon every single match I'm even close to winning has ended with a rage quit.

I guess the fact that I'm still playing despite that is a testament to how damn good the game is. I'm in love with Tien, everything about the guy is fantastic. Winning with a Chiaotzu suicide is so satisfying.

My other two characters are constantly rotating in and out though. I must have gone through half the cast and no ones stuck. Maybe some of the dlc cast will find a more permanent place if they show up any time soon.

My list of features they should add in a future update:
- Ability to search for matches while in training mode (so you dont have to leave and go into the lobby, enable the search and go back into training)
- 50 seconds is far too long to wait and see if your opponent accepts the match that is made, lower it to 10 seconds
- Blacklist
- Punish ragequitters (deduct points, certain amount of ragequits in a short period = ban for 24 hours)
- Invite players, such a basic and important feature that was left out
- Search for replays using PSN/XBL ID
- Keep the dragonballs on screen during matches, or at least keep it on screen when a certain amount have been collected, maybe 6

I'd say it'd be even nice if you could accept a match prompt without being put into a screen where you can do nothing but wait.
This might create some technical issues if implemented throughout the entire game, but it'd be nice if it worked like that just in training mode.

I finally finished the story mode! Aside from the endless boring clone fights I liked the stories overall and hope they can maybe get adapted into whatever TV series comes after Super even though I doubt it. One question though, is there anyway to unlock
A21's good color-scheme
for good or is it restricted to story-mode?

Best solution is to not be in those situations, which you accomplish by using movement. Such as your air dashes, double jumps, and air specials that cause you to travel. For example, Vegeta's air kicks or Black's dive kick.

If you are in a situation where you are being pressured, don't forget to use your reflect and your tag counter (by holding forward + assist button while blocking). For reflect, you have to be aware of gaps in your opponents pressure as the reflect is not immediate and has some start up. Don't overuse your tag counter, because if your opponent realizes that you use it every time you are being pressured, you can be punished for it.

How do I avoid being punished after 2m 5m combo opener gets blocked?

End your block strings with a special or assist to make it safe.

Oh my god. My first ranked match could not have been more hype!

I won the second match much easier too, so I'm super excited.

I had to call it quit yesterday... way too fucking tedious and boring.

I'm somewhere in the second arc.
