A lot of these old school gamer records are based on playing the game on the original hardware so recreate it as it was back in the day. Emulators can sometimes run things a little differently than the original arcade cabinets and cause discrepancies, sometimes one's that can aid the player in some ways.
Wiebe is like 6ft 2 which makes Mitchell something like 6ft 7, I'd say that's pretty distinctive! I wonder what the reaction would be to a Dinklage flick that "undoes" his achondroplasia. Anyways, total detail, sorry. Isn't Mitchell the guy who was parodied by Cartoon Network's Regular Show?If the Hobbit can make Gandalf look like he's towering over the hobbits then a King of Kong movie can make Peter Dinklage large and in charge. I'd also say his height isn't his most distinctive feature lol.
According to DKF it's currently 1,206,800 by Dean Saglio in 2013.What is the emulator WR? There was a time where people would stream emulator WR attempts on Twitch but I haven't seen them in a while.
Ok im not understanding perfectly here. What does it have to do to play it on original hardware or emulator? You mean he could have hack the game to get this high score?
This is the truth. Fun documentary too.
Maybe he lied about his height score as well. Peter Dinklage is perfect.I love dinklage as much as the next guy, but isn't one of Mitchell's most distinctive features his... Massive height?
After watching Adam Sandler's Pixels (its not as bad as I was expecting) I think Peter Dinklage should play Billy Mitchell if they ever make a movie about him.
It seems every single outed fraud started off as a cocky douche and only became more of a douche to protect their lie.
Lmao bravoMaybe he lied about his height score as well. Peter Dinklage is perfect.
While those may be suspect, Billy Mitchell IS insanely good at Donkey Kong and his public record isn't that far off 1 million
lolTodd Rogers, of Dragster infamy, was a supposed witness to the 1.05M and 1.062M games.
The version in DK64 is based on the Japanese version of DK, which isn't played in the US to the degree that the US version is. However, DK64 seems to make more subtle tweaks beyond that. It's not conclusive, since there isn't a lot of interest in studying this version. How about the DK Arcade game that's unlocked in DK64? Would it count if you beat the world record on that? Just wondering.
All versions of MAME have this function. WolfMAME, the build used by scorekeepers, is supposed to disable this function when recording a run, but there are ways around it.The old emulator has a function which allows you to restart a floor you screwed up on over and over again meaning that Mitchell's scores may have not been in a single sitting and thus wouldn't be legitimate scores.
while his kid kept asking him to wipe his butt... as a father... that's mad concentrationone of the best documentaries I've watched and Weibe to me was always the king.
Man did that shit live
This is good. This is really, really good.
Bob Mueller needs to investigate this once he's done with the gorilla in the White House.
There was apparently a Yoshi's Island speedrunner who was outed and owned up to it in a pretty humble way. This video talks about it:
one of the best documentaries I've watched and Weibe to me was always the king.
Man did that shit live
My mans Darbian tied the world record in Dragster.lol
The man who claims to have gotten a better time than even TASers say is possible to get in Dragster. There's a man you can trust!
