- Shadow of Mordor might be the worst game I've ever played
- Skyrim is not much better than that
- MGSV is the best open world game, partly because the open world part of it doesn't matter.
- N64 is the worst Nintendo console
- PS3 is the best Sony console

PS3 Sony's best console? In what world? The PS3 gained momentum near the end.. it's actually the worst console of the PlayStation line.

Uncharted series is kinda .. I wouldn't say overrated but I give it a 8/10.

Jak and Daxter 1 is the worst I've played as a platform game. I even enjoyed Shadow The Hedgehog more than it and you know how bad Shadow is.

I finished GTAV and didn't enjoy it at all. I appreciate Rock Star's job on it tho.

Journey, Demons Souls, Dark Souls, The Last of Us and MGS4 all have places in my top games ever. Not to mention plenty of others like Uncharted series, Gran Turismo 5, Stardust, Velocity, Burnout Paradise, Infamous 2 and many more

Nintendo's most interesting gaming are the ones not made by EPD but rather third party collars, partner studios(gamefreak, intelligent systems, etc) and first party subsidiaries(Retro, Monolith).

FF8 is the best entry in the series.

#Facts

The way FF8 is looked down upon breaks my heart. I though Square was really on to something with the whole Triple Triad/ Junction system implementation despite its faults. FF8 also has my favourite Videogame OST, was dense with interesting secrets and had incredible art direction. One of the greatest games ever made imo, though FF9 is my number one despite being inferior in some respects.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is a fine and damn near literary game. Better than the original, and one of the most pure, visceral crime stories in any medium. Losing out on K&L 3 hurts.
Right on. And the ending, which is generally seen as terrible, is in fact one of the best endings in any game.
Hear hear! One of the ballsiest games ever in more ways than one.

I don't think it needs a 3 because of how awesome that ending is. Kane and Lynch don't deserve an "ending." At least beyond what they got. They don't deserve closure, and I don't need to see them go through any more hell. Dog Days gave me all the picture I need.

I enjoyed Fallout 4 a lot, game is fun, same with Bioshock Infinite.

Skyward Sword is my favourite 3d Zelda pre-botw, it has a lot of issues but I think it has some of the highest highs of any game I've played. Ocarina on the other hand is my least favourite 3d Zelda. Always just get bored playing it. World feels empty and the writing is just boring. (love MM though)

Yeah Uncharted 4 sucks.

I don't think that's really a controversial statement, as the backlash on that game has been even bigger than the Bioshock Infinite fiasco.

Persona 5 isn't the best game in the franchise so far. Just couldn't get into it, the characters (outside Yusuke) did not grab my attention in the slightest. Fire Emblem 6+7 are overrated and boring, especially in comparison to the games that came immediately before them.

Final Fantasy VII has aged incredibly badly in the past 20 years and while it was amazing back in the day I find it virtually unplayable now without taking advantage of the cheats in the PS4 version. I feel this way after replaying it last year and having my nostalgia crash down all around me. Looking forward to the remake even more now

I feel like this is a common opinion actually. A lot of people will tell you that FFVII was amazing when it came out but has aged poorly over the years. Game is pretty much butt-ugly. In comparison, the more realistic character models used for FFVIII have aged a little better.

The Grand Theft Auto series is bad, Final Fantasy is boring, and 2D Zelda games are lame.

Ooh ooh I have one.

Point-and-click adventure is a fundamentally broken genre. The gameplay amounts to laboriously inspecting elements of a giant look-up table, the contents of which follow no coherent logic. There is no skill to learn or system to master, you just learn to get more efficient at inspecting table elements. Narrative adventures and walking sims have completely supplanted P&C by jettisoning the genre conventions that existed only to extend playtime and thereby "justify" their price.

1. There's never been a good metal gear game.
2. Disgaea 3 is the best installment so far bar none
3. The Chloe ending of Life is Strange is somehow satisfying (still way too short though) and the better ending
4. Final Fantasy 5 is the best 2d final fantasy
5. Final Fantasy 12 is the best 3d final fantasy
6. Zack Fair is the best final fantasy character
7. Mass Effect 3 is the best game in the original trilogy overall, and the first game is the worst.
8. Demons souls isn't a good game. (I love BloodSouls thought)
9. Persona 3 portables FMC route was so much better written and more enjoyable than the original version I can't play the original game anymore.
10. Mario 64 has absolutely horrible controls and is nearly unplayable
11. Borderlands 2 is the most interesing "FPS" game of all time and one of the best games of all time.
12. Spyro 2 +3 are still legitimately some of the most enjoyable games that have ever come out, and the controls mostly still hold up.
13. Dynasty Warriors 7 is the worst Dynasty warriors game of all time, including 6. The best games are Dynasty Warriors 8 and Warriors Orochi 2 and 3.

EDITSSS:
14. Half life was always bland and ugly
15. Freelancer is better than Elite Dangerous (I know they're basically different genres sue me)
16. The vita was a better console than the 3ds
17. Vita Remote play makes the vita a mandatory addon for PS4 owners
18. Pokemons best generations were 3 and 4. (in terms of new pokemon)
19. God of war is a pretty bland series.
20. Crash Team racing was the best cart racing game of all time until Mario Kart 8
21. Alistar and Leliana are the only two people worth romancing in Dragon Age Origins
22. Sera is the best character in the entire Dragon Age franchise and as cute as a pile of buttons with a kitten on top.
23. The romance in Mass Effect Andromeda is actually really cool. I like how you can hit on just about everyone and tons of people will reject you. With that said, It's still not as good as the original trilogy, with the possible exception of the last half of ME 1.
24. The only thing Oblivion is better than Skyrim at is a few of the side quests and the faction quests.
25. Fallout 4 is better than Fallout 3. (Still way worse than Fallout NV)
26. Dark Souls 1 is too slow in gameplay and tries to shoehorn the player into playing with magic or a shield without allowing for other playstyles to really shine. These are the games greatest weaknesses.
27. Ornstein and Smough suck hard.
28. Persona games would almost be better without combat.
29. Naoto is best girl. Fight me.
30. I want the next fire emblem game to take place is a cyber fantasy setting -_-

Brink deserves a sequel. The gameplay was super rough, but it was one of few class based multiplayer games at the time, and the world had some serious vibes. You could make a kickass hero shooter out of it today.

While I'm somewhat coming around to it recently, Phantom Pain is still the biggest disappointment in modern history to me. The (admittedly amazing) trailers were completely misleading, Quiet is the worst character in any medium ever, the open world was badly executed and the
Medic = Fake Big Boss plot twist retroactively ruined the ending of MGS4.
Chapter 2 is a complete mess, though that is hardly a controversial opinion. Chapter 1 is pretty good if you view it in a vacuum without prior knowledge of the trailers. They nailed the cinematography, and some moments can stand with the rest of the MGS series, but the game as a whole was a massive letdown that shouldn't be anywhere near a 90+ metascore. And what happened with Skullface? He turned from the terrifying villain that he was in Ground Zeroes into a goofy weirdo.

I think Graces f is one of the better Tales games. The main story is weak, but the skits and victory quotes are charming and hilarious. The combat is addictive and satisfying, and character progression is satisfied. I can see how the slow start could be off putting, but the time skip really increased my investment in the characters.

I also love water levels.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is overrated.

1) Combat against human is just plain awful.

2) Lame skill tree. When you don't have something interesting to put in a skill tree, just don't put one.(example: Learn to whistle, wtf?)

3) The most interesting part of the game (overriding machines) is barely touched in the main story. Nobody mention that I can control a fucking Mecha-TREX. Cauldrons are really wasted in this game, and should be way more important in the main quest.

4) Alloy is.. ok. The fact that she is a woman is irrelevant in this world. She is not sexualized(good) but she has no personality beyond that.. and her only quality is that she doesn't act like an insame when the others looks like morons(seriously, the Nora are a bunch of idiots).

Good game.. not GOTY at all.

Well I don't like the big Open World games push and the sudden rising criticism of Linear games that started around 2009. Not sure how controversial that is but maybe it is since I know there are tons of people who agree with these things.

I blame Shadow of mordor for this. Is just 'Checklist' the game... running in a relly boring and bland map.

Soulsbourne games are overrated.
Not everything should be a soulsbourne.
Xenosaga > Xenogears >>> Xenoblade
Final Fantasy hate is ridiculously overblown because people always want to hate the popular thing.
Kingdom Hearts isn't confusing, people are just mentally lazy.
Final Fantasy The Spirits Within is a perfectly tolerable movie once yet let go of your hangups over "true FF experience"
Lost Odyssey is incredibly boring to play, as is virtually every Mistwalker game save The Last Story.
Mobile games (specifically mobile JRPG's) are great games.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is the best 2D platformer of all time

No game series has a better run than Mega Man X through X5

If remakes count as replacements, then the 2D Metroid series now is ranked Zero Mission > Samus Returns > Fusion > Super #hotaki

While I love the Persona series, I've never been able to get into the main Shin Megami Tensei titles. I WANT to get into them (I own several) but I just can't keep myself interested.

Same goes for Pokemon: I own 3 or 4 entries, but I've never actually finished one (or gotten more than halfway through). My brother has profited off this woeful habit of mine by finishing all of said Pokemon games in my stead.

I've never liked the GTA games, I think they have terrible gameplay. GTA V might be awesome but I have yet to play it because I can't trust all the "game of the year!" hype the series gets anymore after being burned by the previous entries.

I really tried to get into Skyrim but the combat was so bad it ruined the game for me and I couldn't continue. Although I think most agree the combat has problems.

While it's true it is clearly the worst of the series, I think Mass Effect Andromeda is actually pretty decent.

I feel like that's a pretty uncontroversial opinion. I've seen lot's of people call it the best 2d platformer, it's just less of a wide spread opinion since TF bombed on the wii u #maketheswitch

Tropical Freeze has a low 80s score on MC and rightfully so.

It's great, but Rayman Legends, New Super Mario Wii U and Yoshi's Woolly World are better when talking about Wii U 2D platformers.

I've said it in other forums and I'll say it here. While I ultimately enjoyed the games, Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 had some of the worst encounter design I've ever seen in a shooter. Aiming was horrible, enemies would often spawn behind you while you were shooting at things in front of you, and enemies were often incredibly spongy.

ND fixed it in U4, but I don't understand how anyone could have enjoyed the combat in the first two Uncharted games (I've completely forgot almost everything about the third game).

Hell yeah! Or rather, hella yeah? I was shocked when I discovered most people considered the other ending the obvious choice. I guess it comes down to whether you thought it was a coming of age story, or a love story. And my Max sure as hell kissed Chloe on the lips.

Mwahaha. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
