I have 50+ hours on this game and like 70% of it is just practice because I'm not touching online again until it's fixed.
Like five straight disconnects in a row just absolutely enraged me.

As someone that is new to fighters, using the d-pad feels unnatural as hell to me. But I suppose I could get used to it eventually
This particular game is very pad friendly, stick is a matter of preference.
I know some people were asking about 18 combos. Here's a relaunch that works anywhere on screen and ends in super:
anything into 2M > 5M > jc > j.LML2H > j.214M > 66 > j.M > land > j.LM > jc > j.LM2H > j.236LM
The airdash j.M after j.214M is kinda tricky at first. Mid-screen I time it by doing the airdash on the first hit of 17's string and then delaying the j.M as much as possible. You want it to hit as close to the ground as possible so you can rejump for the air combo.
If you want a hard knockdown, you can just do j.LLL after the airdash also. Way easier to time BTW.
After the 2H > j.214M you can also go straight into dragon rush, which is really strong since you can do a snapback and then do MvC-styled mixups with 17 and any assists while the next character is coming in.

Just learn from losses, i used to get hung up on losing alot until i forced myself to not care about rank/W-L ratio. Wasn't easy right away but i eventually didn't care and i enjoy fighting games a lot more.
you could easily win 20 games in a row or you could easily lose 20 games in the row.
I still have fun when I lose in ranked because it makes very apparent what I'm lacking in my game and it helps me improve... Though somehow I've had a pretty high winning rate for the first time in a fighting game, and I'm not even good at all. I'm at 30 out of 39 ranked matches won and I've only lost like 5 times in casual and arena, it's super weird.
I'm hopeful, also servers being down will force me to hit training mode. Been using the same stuff since this weekend, need to integrate new tech.
Keeping it simple by adding a word the game doesn't even use(punch)???

Least Next Level should be up while the servers are down, right? Gives everyone a chance to see the game played at a higher level and see some teams you wouldn't see in ranked. When is that supposed to start, anyway? I haven't kept up with NLBC in a few years.

Everyone should use what they're most comfortable with, it's really not a big deal.
It's just a little funny how easily someone's view of what's simple can be different, my years of anime games makes the numpad notation look nicer to me, but I can easily see how it wouldn't work so well for someone familiar with SF notation.

Yeah, I've been doing that combo, except instead of lvl 3 after the teleport, I usually do the medium command grab into his lvl 1. Though I can't seem to get that 2H you do for the the super dash j.LM2H double jump LM. Usually just go with super dash j.LM double jump LM.

The medium command grab into the lvl 1 is what I'm going for but I keep pressing R1 instead of Triangle.
I think the most optimal sequence I found for that line is 2M, M, jcL, M, L, 2H (D), L, M, L, 2H, jcL,L (autocombo), S xx 236M(M,M), Vanish, 214M (xx any super).
Note that if you haven't messed with sparking specific combos you can always go into this combo from any grounded confirm canceled into sparking, because the 2M will OTG if you let them hit the ground from the sparking knockdown (they can't tech immediately).
