Is there any kind of breakdown of the whole cast, stating if a character is best as a anchor/point/mid?

Would be nice as a quick reference.

Not really, but it generally goes like this:

- Point character: The character in your team that can either do good damge with assists and minial super meter use (Adult Gohan, A16 for example) or a character whose main strenght is to open up your oponent with tricky mix ups and preassure (A18, Trunks)

-Mid character: I usually put the best assist character here, like Vegeta or Kid Buu, that can be used at any point of the screen. If your anchor or point character don't have a beam assist, I suggest picking one that does and putting them here, like Goku or Tien.

-Anchor character: The one you want to save for last, they use a LOT of meter to deal damage and get the best results with sparking blast. Frieza, Goku Black and Teen Gohan are good examples of this.

If they keep pressing buttons after super dash, shoryuken their ass with 214H. Also, you can mash 2H after theirs if you know a super dash is coming.

Also, teen Gohan is best used as anchor, his assist is really good for corner combos and he gets most of his damage by using bar. If you want to use gohan on point, I recommend using Adult Gohan.

I've tried 2H but it doesn't work most of the time. I didn't think about 214 though. I forgot that move is a DP. I would use him as my anchor but Goku Blue has been a pretty good anchor for me and I used his meter like crazy. Gohan also decent synergy with 21. I like using his bombs with her assist. I've fought a few Adult Gohans on point and he's scary, but I know it'll bother me not using his level 7 because it'll feel like I'm not using him to his full potential. I don't see myself having 7 bars very often on point. I know it's not necessary but it'll bother me.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to transform the 3v3 mode option from ring match into a full mode in matchmaking?

Fighting with 2 friends against another team of 3 strangers is the shit, but it's nearly impossible to set up a ring match in a reasonable timeframe.

Also, why do we not have an actual chat on PC? It was possible in GG Xrd.

Why the fuck is the matchmaking so awful?
Ranked match, set for the same strength. He's won 77 out of 90 matches, and is a way higher rank than me.
I got literally combo's to death with zero chance of fighting back the second the match started.
The actual fuck is that bullshit?

Just make sure you're delaying a bit after the superdash, then it's just light twice -> 2H -. jump cancel and light twice again
I'll try that. With Goku I tend to just opt for the L-M-H and then hit a super when they're on the ground instead of going for the double launcher.

Hey everyone, I need some help.

So, I love the game. I've been getting better with more and more advanced combos. I have no problem executing them, but I am having a very distinct problem.

Being stuck in a corner.

If my opponent is non stop attacking me, I have no fucking clue what to do. I swear to Christ I don't stop blocking but through their mashing they always get me. I have no clue how to punish this type of play in this game. Everytime I try to get an attack in after blocking, theirs beats mine because they never stop attacking. I can't switch, teleport, or grab I've found. Nothing works.

Please help!

If you're good with deflections you could try using one of those to push your opponent away and get some space. Otherwise I tend to just wait for a small window where I can get a vanish attack off and escape the corner. But I feel your pain, getting caught in a corner against someone who's just slamming buttons is annoying.

The best thing to do would be to set the training dummy to just do attack strings/just hit buttons, then crouch in a corner, and see what you can do to get out of it.

Deflect (4S) is probably the best bet, but if you can get a 2M off, you can get a full combo from that. They can't keep you in the corner forever, so try to keep calm, wait until they do a move with a long animation, then punish.

If they can't open you up, they'll go for an IAD normal, or a 6M overhead more than likely. Just stand block that, then punish.

Welp, just lost against a U.Gohan who turned their brain off and was simply not thinking. I would try and IAD H in the corner, but THEY WERE HOLDING FORWARD AND MASHING S! So I'd cross them up in the air and they'd get reflect to come out LOL! I can't even understand why you'd hold forward in the corner! Holy shit! Then they'd do the usual LMH into super dash blockstring, so I thought Ok, I'll wait because they'll be pressing buttons, nope, dragon rush grab, ok then, that's how it is. Then I tried to go for teleport mixups with Goku Black, nope, he was mashing light and then reflect somehow, Ok. Then I'd try and punish their super dashes, but I don't know if the game is registering something else or if for some reason I'm jumping or whatever, but my 2H is getting clipped by their super dash lol, so instead of punishing it I'm the one getting punished... FFS. Then again the LMH into super dash blockstring, so since they always went for a normal or super dash in the ground after the blockstring, I decided to go for 2H this time. Nope, they did level 3 right there for no reason! I just... wow... the holding forward while on wake up in the corner did throw me off badly, especially with the reflect combined lol.
Edit: And yeah, this was after I beat them by a good margin in the first match, so of course they ran away and left the set at 1 - 1.

I love all the salt and excuses this game is bringing out. Some true Marvel going on here.

Deflect and alpha counters. Have you done all of the tutorials?

After getting a good beatdown all last night on ranked from much better competition (good learning experience though), I was at least able to end my night with a bit of satisfaction with my first dramatic finish...

I was able to get the opposite Dramatic Finish in a ranked match the other night, felt really good. I was also able to make a 1 vs. 3 comeback against a guy who was 25 for 25 to hand him his first loss. I don't know why people are sleeping on the great Yamcha.

I can never get that second launcher-light punch thing to hit
The one at the top of the combo? Use light auto combo. The game's logic makes it track and corrects your character's position. So, hitting light, light will do a light, medium. If you do it a third time it will do a light, medium, hard and knock them down to the ground.

After you've been playing for a week or two, it's smart to read back over all universal mechanics because there's a really good chance there are one or two things you completely forgot existed that may help solving issues you're currently having.

(this isn't directed at anyone in particular)

Agree with this.
One of the things I find boosts my overall game play the most in fighting games is remembering a key tool I haven't been using properly, like a special or game mechanic. For example, in this game I keep forgetting about deflects and dragon rushes, which I need to work on using more properly.

Anybody got any Hit tips? The dude seems pretty bad from a combo perspective (I feel like he's be fine if his specials didn't count as your combo's launcher, I mean what the point of meter burning his 236 special for a kick that gives you a worse combo than normal?) also his slow ass lows make him have no real high/low mix-up?

I forgot alpha counters existed until someone mentioned them, so it definitely applies to me as well, haha.

Guard tag cancels are very useful to get out of tough situations when your character is low on HP and is getting rushed down in a blockstring, it only costs one bar and can save your character, I've been trying to use it often if I find myself in a tough spot. Reflect though... I keep forgetting about those. I also keep forgetting to punish super dashes that come from people who are up high in the air when I finish an aerial combo with a special for example.

I just had a message pop up ingame about receiving SSGSS Goku and Vegeta if I have 300k and 500k Zeni. Does this mean I need to just earn that amount, or do I need to have it saved?

I mentioned this in the TFS thread on the other side, but I will double dip on the PC version the moment an Abridged voice mod comes out.

Is the news tab in the game working for anyone? It never showed me something in it, not in the beta nor the real game now, it's always empty.

I'd love a TFS voice mod but would it be safe to mod this game? I remember reading about people getting banned on XV2 for modding their game.

I see. I got a system message I unlocked Vegeta Blue at some point and I was wondering where it came from since I had already unlocked him and Goku Blue through pre-order code. And I wasn't anywhere near 300.000 available Zeni. But that explains it then.

I was under the impression you had to buy them with Zeni, which seemed a pretty insane requirement.

I feel Cell can work anywhere, and both 21's and Black's assists cover the same area.
I would probably have 21 on point if I wanted to run those characters to have a more versatile assist setup with both a beam and lockdown assist.

What do you consider lockdown assists other than Vegeta and Kid Buu? Theirs are so strong, I'm wondering if there are any others I should be checking out.
