Nah, Kat is great already and even when her games don't sell, she's still a PlayStation mascot. I suspect GR3 would feature
The Other, who, according to a rather plausible theory, is Kat and Raven's original form, before it was apparently split in two
, but I really hope they don't twist the story that way as I don't like that plot point or that character at all.

With how they worded that character and who she is,
being Kat from another time and place, I wouldn't be surprised if it is the version of Kat that returns from the bottom of the world. We after all see a Dusty and Kat like shadow at the end in the photographs, and while it's a nice hint that she does returns, it could also be that she doesn't come back quite herself which is why we don't actually see her properly

I hope they do something with the character though, because if they don't I would have wanted that outfit.

"GRAVITY DAZE 2 One year anniversary in the blink of an eye & thank you for extending the online service too - Thank you so much for your support! I look forward to working with you~"

From Google Translate. Looks like the game really got a second chance with the holiday sale.

This game is getting robbed so hard in so many soundtrack of the year lists. Easy Allies didn't even put it in the top 5, criticizing it for reusing music from the old game, even though Nier: Automata did this far more often (and the improvements to those songs were better in GR2)... not that I'm angry about it, since Nier's tied with GR2 as best soundtrack of the year for me, but it being dropped in favor of the 4 other games was so weird to me. #DontForgetGravityRush 2's soundtrack.
Funny that they talk negatively about reusing, when the best music in the game (and one of the best Kohei Tanaka has composed altogether) is sort of a remix.

Question: how do you use Physical/Energy Deflect? I can't seem to figure it out or find info online.

Wait, when were the online functions extended? Somehow I missed the news.

It's the least they could do, for a game as recent as this.
Jan 12, according to this Kotaku update. I believe the official announcement was on the Japanese PlayStation site here, Twitter link to the announcement here. It was also of course an announcement in the game itself on Jan 12.

Hey, thanks for the answer. I searched and read about it, it's very good news they took this course of action. Now I wonder how much weight had the Japanese community on this. I know about GR Central here in the West, but their movement, though relevant, doesn't seem to me big enough.

Anyway, it worked and that's the most important.

Yeah I was thinking similarly. My conclusion was that no campaign did anything, but instead Sony saw a large uptick in server traffic after the holiday sale because GR2 was on sale and a number of people bought it. When they saw a surge in traffic, they decided to extend the time before server shutdown to avoid pissing off a bunch of new buyers.

That would be my guess, too.

Here's hoping the game will be on sale again as part of the inevitable summer sale.

Just finished Chapter 20. That was uh... something.
You mean the boss fight?

It would've been one thing if she had changed into a black, navi-like blob. But this... this was a bit too much, perhaps.

Poor Kali Angel. Orphaned, experimented on and eventually driven mad by despair. That girl didn't have a good life, nor a good death.

I haven't played the final chapter yet, but it was kind of jarring how her death wasn't acknowledged at all outside of a shot of her domino mask drifting away during the credits.

I played two funny sidequests yesterday - Author's Discreet Charm II and Something This Way Flies II. Where do they get the ideas for these things lol.

I was disappointed that the smelly pickles didn't take out the garrison that attacks you though. It would've been funny if they all passed out when you got near.

I finished off the side-quests and got gold in the challenges. I think it turned into weird Stockholm Syndrome at the end, with each side quest I was just curious to see what bizarre and sadistic errand poor Kat would be put through this time. I will say the GR2 certainly got very creative in that department. The side-quests/challenges that had more of an RNG component got on my nerves more so than the ones that didn't.

I thought collecting furniture would be boring, but it was genuinely touching giving Kat back her little house/drain pipe, and watching her and Dusty interact with furniture is there.

I guess it's time to check out the portraits and photography trophies! I'm trying to drag out my time with GR2 as much as possible before going ahead with the Eto chapters.

Finished it. Game had plenty of problems and frustrating moments, but I came away feeling pretty positive. It's just such neat game with a charming characters and an interesting world. I know some people seem pretty down in the DLC, but I'll probably save it for some time in the future whenever I feel like coming back to this game. Probably when I clean up the collectables.

And though I'm pretty sad we probably won't get a follow-up, I think this game wraps everything up pretty well and I'm satisfied with what we got.

I think I'm going to bail on the Platinum because I still need about twenty thousand gems to finish maxing out the upgrades. I just can't bring myself to grind that much mining or replaying missions. I feel like they really missed the balance making upgrades so expensive. I get that they want to incentivise mining but mining just isn't lucrative enough to justify putting the time into it. They really need to either cut the upgrade costs or increase the payout for mining. Maybe something like having 10% of green orbs in a given mining area give crystals worth 10 and 5% give crystals worth 25... I dunno, but currently it's just not worth it.

I think the only side missions i really hated in the sense that I just had trouble completing them, were the ones where you dressed up as the idol and couldn't let people get too close to you, and the ones where you were shown a picture of something, and had to locate it.

Today's the anniversary of when the game came out in the US. I just recalled that that was the same day Trump got inaugurated. GODDAMN this game was an absolute blessing to have that day lmfao

I earned my 6,000th Dusty Token! I've got some questions as I turn my attention toward earning the Platinum trophy.

  • Is there a way to create some kind of super powerful talisman combining the unlimited potential talisman with another that could eliminate the de-buff it gives to attack power?
  • The grind to 60,000 power crystals — what are the best ways to get that done?

If you want the platinum trophy. You'll need 87k gems to max out Kat's power.

This is the fatest method:

Took me about 3-4 hours.

That's a good question. The server shutdown headlines and PSN sales seemed to generate a lot of buzz. I wonder if this translated into sold units.
I want to believe that they realised that the game still sells during the sales period and that's why we got the extension. Who would buy a game whose servers are closed after all.
I want to believe that people bought the game during the last holidays

So I played Episode 12 last night and hoooooo boy is this game's control scheme not well designed for tight corridors, especially when forced to use the Jupiter style. It was so easy to accidentally land on a surface and have the camera whipping all over. Fortunately, I mad it through with only a few fails (those blasted walls closing in and that dumb "dont get hurt at all while you slide all over in a new style that you're completely unused to"). Muchhh better now back in Hekseville in Lunar style, bounding all over looking for npcs to photograph.

Yeah they kinda give you the worst place to try out Jupiter in. I was crashing all over the place.
