I agree.

Kyle is absolutely fantastic but I also prefer Frame Trap because the discussions are both more meaty and intimate. The EZA Podcast tends to be more topical subjects that the Allies sometimes aren't completely familiar with so discussions can occasionally fall into fluff territory where it feels like they're trying to kill time.

On Frame Trap, because the panelists are discussing personal experiences with games, shows, etc., the conversation feels grounded and allows me to sink into their passions about specific games. Case in point, The Evil Within 2 discussion from the last Frame Trap and hearing Huber gush and Ben and Brandon present counter-points felt super engaging to me.

to me the two podcast compliments each other since they're diametrically opposite, one is news, announcment and pretty much what's happening in the industry while the other is a personal podcast about what they played and sometimes offtopics discussion.

as for the ost, persona 5 is fantastic but automata is more contextualized, and you have the possibility to listen to almost every track in normal mode, 8bit, quiet and dynamic. my favorite are amusement park and the weight of the world

I hope the Housemarque story about arcade style games being dead makes the next podcast, could be a really interesting discussion. Hoping it doesn't get swallowed up by a bunch of other news. I want to hear Brandon read that statement!

I love Persona 5s OST. But I love Niers OST.

Too hard to choose right now, but add FFXV to the list and that's my gaming trinity of OST goodness for the past few years.

I think the Persona OST has higher highs but lower lows than NieR. I don't hate songs from either of them, but Persona has a few I'm apathetic towards (the mementos background music and the song that plays during awakening scenes are the first ones I can pull off the top of my head I didn't like), and I like or love pretty much every NieR song. I'd vote for NieR but it's very close.

That news bummed me out so much.

If too many games shift to multiplayer, community-focused or GaaS, I am done with this hobby. No exaggeration. Thankfully I don't think that will happen anytime too soon.

Yeah but I'm not just gonna sit there playing the same games over and over. :P Plus part of my interest in this hobby comes from anticipating the future.

Is it the same games over and over though? There are so, so many games that I've not been able to play that are highly recommended in the past year alone - never mind going back to something older, like a Red Dead Redemption or Alan Wake.

Thank you, you as well. Seeing as how the impossible movie sequel now exists, all bets are off! We just may see a 5hr Frame Trap some day, and my life will be complete :p

I wish the allies had time to do a Bladerunner Spoilermode

Regarding your spoiler, Ian said they would be doing one on twitter a week or so ago. Not sure when, though.

Not surprised, didn't they record it after the group stream? Bowman and Jones had been working since PSX until midnight before even filming it!

Includes a hot-take on NeoGAF:

"NeoGAF is bad now. Don't go there... that is just a forum that's no fun anymore." - Bosman, 2017.

The Deep North
If we're talking Best OST of 2017. Gravity Rush 2 deserves a mention, the music was my favourite thing about the game after Kat herself. Top track for me is Lei Havina - it reminds me of John Barry's work on the 60s' Bond scores.

I'm stunned Damiani didn't mention or complain about the wedging in the motion controls. I don't think it's enough to affect the score but I figured it'd make it in

Just to add a little bit more to this:

Brad: "See ya. Bye."
Kyle: "Yeah, that's our opinion basically. 'See ya.' Yeah, that is it. If you're curious what the Easy Allies opinion is, it's 'See ya!'"

Dang, according to Kyle's update it sounds like Box Peek is still a long ways off. That's probably my most anticipated thing coming from Easy Allies that's on the horizon.

Anyone have any idea when the next part of the Retro will go up? Last one was over a month ago now...

If the podcast is anything to go by, should be in the next couple of days.

I've been subscribed to them since the beginning but mainly for the reviews. Didn't really pay attention much to their other content. But lately I've been watching more of their reaction videos and discussions. I'm liking it. The crew has good chemistry and they clearly enjoy talking about games.

That is what he wants you to think...
