I think Frame Trap can get pretty intimidating because of its length. Not that I don't love that, but I'm sure it turns people off so smaller segments for that show would make sense to me, yeah.

What do you think of the latest friend code? not a big fan, a quickly made up list and the guests were not as knowledgeable.

Still, good time waster

I've only listened to a bit so far (up to the Gameboy part), but the guest seemed pretty knowledgeable about what they discussed so far. The Final Fantasy Legend info stands out as an example.

I will for sure. But I remember looking a the the trailer a while ago and being like huh, that's not a 16,6ms frame interval right there what's going on? I hope it'll be fine tho, game looks pretty nice.
Looks like we've got our answer. SotC in performance mode holds at a locked 60fps at all times except on the main temple stairs, where it weirdly drops a few frames. Looks like it's an incredible remake, I can't wait to get my hands on my copy (which I imported via Play-Asia, because SIEE are useless and aren't producing a Limited Edition version of it).

i'm not talking about the user experience. i love that the videos are timestamped. that's great. i'm talking about the basic youtube formula to get more viewers n shit. people watch 10 minute videos.
just curious
That doesn't follow the YouTube formula as far as I know. In fact, from what I've read from various YouTube creators, I've heard that adding too many videos in a day is not favored by the current YouTube algorithms for discovery.

I don't think there's really a benefit to segmenting the podcast like that, especially because of the extra work it'll create. If they're that worried about something like that, they could just try to create shorter content to balance out the longer content and upload that as well, rather than chopping current content.

If you're already sold on the game or actively playing through it and are concerned about game spoilers, you shouldn't be watching the review before playing the rest of the game. I think Brandon and some of the other allies have also mentioned something along these lines.

Yeah and tbh for MHW specifically the story is so inconsequential the spoiler didn't even bother me.

Thanks. Don't use twitter at all so didn't check there.

They may have said that. It's still completely ridiculous. A review is aimed at people who do not have the game, so don't put spoilers in it. Nothing hard to understand about that.

Honestly, if you're at all worried about spoilers in any review, don't read/watch it. It's ridiculous to put the onus on the reviewer to try and skirt around the differing opinions on what is considered a "spoiler."

For example: I saw a lot of "spoiler-free" Star Wars reviews back in December, but I knew personally that they'd still contain details that I didn't want to know until seeing the film. And sure enough, they did. To me, the basic plot of the movie was a spoiler because that's how I preferred to see the movie, so I avoided ALL reviews, no matter how many "spoiler-free" tags they'd shove in their headlines.

Both Ian and Ben didn't consider it too much of a spoiler and felt it was important to note it in the review of the game. Ben even tweeted that he still didn't think it ruined anything about the game, and I believe him.

We all have different standards, but if you're gonna be sensitive about spoilers, you ought to just go full media blackout. It's really the only surefire way.

Yeah this is pretty much it. I consider myself very sensitive to spoilers and no matter how bad a review is about it, I'm not even watching it until I'm done in the first place because it's on me to dodge the spoilers, not on the world to bend itself to my specific definition of a spoiler it has no way of knowing.

Watching last nights Sea of thieves beta stream. Really fun stuff but right now I think I'd enjoy watching the allies stream it more than me buying and playing it.

Also I love the Huber gif for new subscriber notifications. A fun pop up, that doesn't make a noise and a huber gif will never get old for me. I know they said a goal this year is to standardize the stream features across the allies so I hope that gets incorporated soon. They need to do one for resubs as well

I think the view count speaks volumes.

With it being audio only and only available of Patrons, I don't think it does at all. That said, I started listening to the audio and dropped out bored. Not been the greatest fan of how Damiani has organised it recently. Like how there was no Patrons Pulse last week because he said he answered the questions in his BOTW stream after losing the cards... Then there's two multi-hour BOTW stream and doesn't link to the timestamp with the questions.

Surprised but also not at all surprised by the Shadow of the Colossus review score. Glad to see the bar has officially been raised for remakes.

I finally got around to finishing their GOTY deliberations stream last night. Really enjoyed the discussion and it was fun getting an insight into how they decide on the winner. I agreed with the top two as well.

Sweet! I've heard a lot about how it's great for fans, but since I've only played a couple, I've been curious.

I haven't played any Dragon Quest games before, but I really want to play XI as well. It should be the type of game I really like, I just never got around to play any before (I am thinking of buying VII and/or VIII on 3DS as well if it is on sale).
I wasn't really playing JRPGs (and RPGs in general) when PS2 was mainstream (I did play FF VIII on PSX, finished FF X and played a bit of FF X-2 and that was it), but Dragon Quest is a series I wanted to play since I started to play a lot more JRPGs last gen.

With XI being on a homeconsole, it seems the perfect opportunity to do so (I also have Builders kicking around in my massive backlog, but never got around to start it either).

I've been staying away from the podcast to avoid spoilers from the gotys (seems that was unnecessary but ah well), I appreciate Damiani's words on SNK. I thought it interesting when Huber was saying the trailer gave him the vibe of "look at what you can do with these women" Kyle was like "oh you're making it creepy now".

It's like... yeah dude... it is creepy, that's the whole point of those games.

And of course the comments are trash.

Damiani was at the group stream? The man barely said a word. The heck?
That's unusual.

My wife has recently started watching the weekly podcast with me and she loves everyone but as soon as damiani is on she immediately checks out.

She feels he drains all the fun and enthusiasm out of it and waffles on so much with his responses that Kyle has to try and sneakily force him into actual getting to the point.

can't say she is wrong eithersadly
