his love of tea surfaces more and suppreses the goku muscle memory
Lmao

Goku Black's dialect is way more refined than Goku's in the Japanese version.

From a localization standpoint, perhaps this is one way to show how far refined Black is from Goku, especially when using God Ki.

I mean, we have an Australian Alien in this series, so I'll allow it

Now hopefully Base form is still not Bale voice
Yeah I guess. I mean, you can be more refined while speaking with an American accent but yeah, like you said, I'll allow it lol

If they can turn his hair pink and not explain it, surely they can give him an accent and not explain it

...Fair point.

i found a fix in steam forums

http://steamcommunity.com/app/678950/discussions/0/1692659769958574821/#c1692659769961456006

C:\Users\[YOU]\AppData\Local\DBFighterZ\Saved\SaveGames - turn on viewing hidden files, delete system.sav WHILE PLAYING. If the game isn't running, you lose all your save data, but if it's running, you can do something that causes a save (like saving your story mode progress) and then it's all OK again
Okay just tried this out and it fixed everything. Thank you!

I give up I've never been good at fighting games but I really like DBZ so I wanted to get this but I just can't hang.
Could just be the speed of it. You should try to pay attention to what your opponent is opening you up with. Like what they're hitting you with to start their combos. Then you can learn to defend against it, as well as implement that attack into your own strategy.

SSB Veggies is too sick. This character is just way too flashy for me to ignore. I might have to replace 21 with him for the time being. Want to run him with Black and Frieza but not sure what order to go with.

Thank you very much! I'm still on the story mode and have yet to tackle on the combo challenges and stuff but this looks super handy! :D

No problem! Some good stuff in there - for online, the tip that you can completely stuff super dash with down+heavy was a godsend! I'm sure that's probably basic to most folks, but for me I couldn't figure out how to stop it online. Just knowing that allowed me to actually win a few games :)

The whole English dub for Black is a mess and I think it stems from them just getting told he's Evil Goku with no actual plot stuff so you end up having Black being DLC for XV2 and having an "evil Goku" edgelord gravelly hate-filled voice and then they find out that Goku Black is really someone else in Goku's body and that someone else is a holier than thou god with a god complex so then they switch to the pompous and posh British accent that is typical of these kinds of characters but then it conflicts with what they've already done so they just keep both of them. And does Zamasu even speak with a British accent in the dub?

I'm all for the British accent because I think it fits, but I also don't know what Zamsu sounds like in English and I prefer some kind of consistency.
The dub is only like 3 eps into the Black arc. Haven't showed Zamasu yet. But I'm betting/guessing he will have a British accent. I think the dub voice(s) are fine. I like pompous british Black tbh. It -does- fit the character.

Goddamn the people playing the PC version are fucking crazy.

I'm in the UK, but I can play with anyone on PC... when the servers bloody work. Playing as it is now does things to my blood pressure.

Outside of a few combos I'm pretty terrible, though.

Playing story mode & Android 16 legit says,
"21 is growing more savage by the day."

If that was from the translation team, give that person a raise ASAP.

I know I brought this up before but hoping I'm missing something. Can you change the on screen command listings from X, Square, Circle, L2, R2 etc,. to L M H and S?

Doing trials, combos, tutorials when using a stick and obviously changing layouts is _INSANE_ after doing so because the command listings on screen don't change. NOR do the commands on the Command List. They are not only tied to DualShock button icons but also the DEFAULT layout. This seems like a massive and almost unforgivable oversight. Am I missing something here guys?

It seems so strange to me when this is what a Guilty Gear combo trial looks like:

maxresdefault.jpg

I'm actually holding out on completing combo trials because of how much more enjoyable it would be to actually read the on screen directions.

BTW I know I can make my own list with a notepad and learn what corresponds with what based upon my layout choices, I'm just saying that it shouldn't be this way.

Probably my only complaint with the game thus far. Guilty Gear had really creative, in depth training modes and I was expecting the same from Arc in this game. I also think the combos don't go far enough in properly explaining things like jump canceling, and wall bounces which are essential in this game. To really understand the mechanics I had to go outside the game (youtube, reddit, this forum etc.) and that creates a barrier that some people simply won't bother to try to climb. The more you force people to go outside the game to progress, the faster the game loses its player base in my opinion.

On PC with my fight stick, I eventually just learned to read the buttons as L, M, H but its still irks me. I imagine its unplayable once you've swapped the inputs on a pad though. It's even more annoying because when you go to pure training mode and turn on inputs, the icons show as L, M, H so they are there already. Just let us turn it on yo.

This is amazing.

Looks like a Switch version is completely possible!!! PLEASE!!!!

Its UE4, ArcSys had Xrd up and running on the PS3/360, and Xenoverse 2 sold half-a-million copies on the Switch alone (in addition to the 3.3 million sales from the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game).

It's bound to get a port.

Don't give up. You have resources these days that people 10-15 years ago would've killed for !

The training mode , the tutorial , the combo challenges, casual matches , YouTube videos , twitch streams , guides , and more .

Plus you can get matches with Era folks on the same level .

You can't stay at your level and expect to keep winning or suddenly you start winning doing what you are doing now as everyone keeps learning . This game is quite easy to get into on so many levels.

Play some era folks , ask questions , and dedicate some time to improving. It's extremely rewarding to go from masher to master if you want to take that road .

The conversation system in this game is so strange... Bulma is frozen in the middle of the scene but cars still drive past?

I really wish you could play with 4 players in local matches. Maybe have one person pick two characters while someone else plays the other.

I am just treating it as one long extended Training Mode broken up by cutscenes here and there.

I am only on the first arc, so I haven't gotten the chance to see Cell roast folks.

I genuinely don't even know how it could be used as that. The AI is brain dead for 97% for the story. There's no gradual rise in skill as you play through the arcs.

I'm getting frustrated at the wait times for ranked matches to the point where I've not wanted to play the game anymore. Upwards of 5 minuten waits. Absolutely ridiculous.

I don't know if you know this (since the game doesn't point it out) but you can hit training mode while waiting for matches. Ya still sucks to wait, but training kills the time between matches.

That's my point; I can practice combos in story mode just like I would in Training Mode because they don't fight back.

I'm actually really enjoying the story mode, contrary to what seems to be the popular opinion here.

I try to stick with the same team through each map and use it as a weird mix of an endurance mode and combo practice.

Don't expect too much from yourself. Try to get a solid grip on the basics - blocking, low attacks / grabs to open an opponent's guard, special move inputs. The story mode cutscenes are quite entertaining, and the enemies aren't much of a challenge - play it and just try things out.

But, again, try to get comfortable with the basics. There's an adage for learning that tends to hold true - slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. Start from the bottom, the fundamentals, and just gradually layer in more complex ideas - i.e. "I can launch the opponent with a heavy attack" -> "I can rush after them with the super dash, and continue the combo" -> "I can start with a low attack to open my opponent's guard, then heavy, then dash". Smoothly get better with small improvements, rather than attempting something much harder, getting frustrated, and quiting.

And, if you lose a match, you can adopt your opponent's strategies, or devise ways to respond to what they do. Try to get so absorbed in what you can change so that next time you stand a better chance of winning, rather than just stewing in a loss.

Oh, I guess so but for a regular person it'd probably be useless in preparing them for online play. Plus I love DBZ and I found it really long and intolerable.

Loving Hit and Tien so far but struggling to find a middle character to flesh things out. Getting really good at laying Hit's ice taps and Tien is just a beast.

Yeah I've been doing training and arcade while waiting. Arcade isn't ideal because it keeps pausing it.

It's a joke though. I could sign up and stand in the lobby for 5+ minutes waiting. I finally get someone, play and have fun, rematch and then bang, knocked out of the lobby mid match. Back to square 1. I can't believe they fucked it up this much. Especially after such amazing gameplay....

Ya, totally understand. I have to wait like 10 minutes and half the time people see 2 bars and bail (even though 2 bars in this game is 3FR come on man that's fine).

Some of these online players are natural talents.. 0 matches played, 0 wins... But they easily do jump cancel and wall bounce combos...... and beat my ass like it's nothing.
I always imagine this ten year old kid kicking my online grumpy ass...

Haha... got a little salty there... But still enjoying this game. Today I've added Freeze to my team. His combos come out the easiest for me and he got me some successes. The other two are Beerus and Cell... Not 100% sure yet about the latter, I've been playing around with some other characters as well...

I think there are a good amount of people who have spent hours upon hours in Training mode and/or playing friends before ever touching online matchmaking.

Keep in mind you only see their ranked game stats on their profile card. They may have played 200 casual matches and you were their first ranked match. :p

It's super frustrating but the only fix I've found is to have one person host and the other keeps closing application until it works. I've had to do it as many as 15 time in a row so it's only worth it if you're going to play alot. Once you're in it's super solid, had a lobby going for almost 10 hours.

I'll add you later. Any PC players feel free to add me on Steam as well. Looking for some more sparring partners.

Steam: AHK-Hero

It'd be nice to have a few people to help get this damn Ring Party Match quest out of the way too. Can never seem to find one, and no one joins when I host.
