This is generally the same amount of FM we got with the challenges before they nerfed those

Actually we're getting a decent deal more, in total. Like 6K more a month, weeklies+extra battle combined.
Its around 38K monthly based on all of the mid-Jan through mid-Feb activities (soldiers and Shin Akuma). Before it was around 26K monthly.
The AI fuckers read your inputs, too. I didn't land a single SPD against Rashid or Gold Shadaloo, they always neutral-jumped to avoid it.

Well who knows when you'll be able to get it again. I think it's an ugly uniform and I'm a huge Viewtiful Joe fan (the helmet is too DK Mode-like, needs to be a little smaller), but I'm gonna get it because it's available right now.
Ya I did the same thing and I don't even know what Viewtiful Joe is. Just thought might as well for the hell of it but I didn't realize they were going to start throwing 3 at a time at us. I'm also not too confident that the final piece will be easy; same goes for those 10K FM goldies.

So i guess I just wasted 5000 fight money because I didn't get around to playing the Extra Battle last week for Rashid's VJ costumes and I didn't really understand what I needed to do to get it.
So I have this worthless gem and I can never get all 4 to get the costume.
It takes a whole month to earn a costume and fights are so stupid easy that it's more like a formality (or hassle). Why not just charge 10k FM for the costume?
And I guess I can never get the costume, or I'll have to wait who knows how long for it to come back around.
Not impressed. Why even let you participate in the subsequent battles if you can't get all the gems if you missed one? And why not just let people run all 4 battles instead of stretching it out a month?
I'm gonna bitch about one more thing: it costs the same amount in fight money as you get for clearing the 2500 FM weekly mission (thanks for halving it despite giving us more shit to spend FM on, Capcom!), which is also stupid easy and pointless.

The point is to create and increase continued player engagement. Should've kept up to date breh.
p.s. with the extra battle stuff we now get more monthly FM than before.
Seems from reading here the gold soldier AI is kinda all over the place? Literally the only thing I did in all three fights was land jump-in combos. I think it was blocked like twice in three fights.

He definitely reads inputs. My strategy was to just avoid attacking him on the ground entirely save for a few counter attacks. Like with survival AI, jumping attacks are the way to go. I wonder if it's because by the time you press your button in the air the CPU doesn't have any moves that start up fast enough to beat your attack.

I'm not sure if it's really asinine when what Capcom wants is for people to engage with the game online, and therefore have a higher chance of engaging with their DLC store. They've made this decision very obviously on purpose.
It'd be better if they hadn't halved weeklies, or if Arcade Mode at least gave you some sort of XP rewards, but it is what it is. I think calling it a gambling is a bit much when we have literal slot machines in other games, though.
Didn't even do that much. Just crossed him up all day and got an easy 6000 FM. These guys in extra battle are nothing like the B.S. the A.I. pulls in survival so far.
Given that they removed all single time FM gains, it makes sense that arcade doesn't allot any. Peeps wanted their AI ladder with ending bit, they got it. Not like they didn't give ample time beforehand to torture yourself with survival, getting rid of any reason to play that sorry mode is a mercy.
Is survival still the only way to unlock colors without buying them?
If only they do more on the online side and teach people how to play fighting games.
Seeing a lv 80 character struggling at staying at Gold on Rank is wrong.
I guess we have to wait until SFVI for that.
I wonder if they'll ever revamp their in-game DLC store? It's a bit cumbersome to roll through all the DLC costumes now
you can filter for characters tho, at least that is there
You can limit the costumes to a specific character by pressing triangle.
Learn the Anti-AI Moves and use them against the Gold Soldiers, save your actual fighting skills for online. That's been the rule for any annoying computer AI's like MK9 Shao Kahn, SCIII Night Terror or any of the SNK Bosses, be thankful this ones a lot easier than those.

So weird that Arcade Mode does not have character intros before each fight. It's like a major component of SFV's presentation is missing there.

I bought the 2017 complete digital edition during the January EU sale, and booted it up again last night for the first time since the arcade edition update. That opening cinematic is so hype. It's even better seeing it on my TV screen.
There is a model viewer for each costume and colour as well as a filter for each character too.
