I had the new Ferrari as one of the 4 options for the daily workout today..... Missed it by one. Was quite exhilarating.
Personally I love the fact I can get a rare drop randomly.... No way I'd spend 20m on a car though.

They did think it through I'm sure some exotic cars cost 20m in GT6 too

I am well aware how much the Ferrari, Jaguar and Ford MK IV (and the GT40) cost in GT6. But unlike GT6 GTS does not offer grindfests like "Like the wind" or bonuses from the "daily races".

The thing is, I HATE grinding credits, especially if the respective events are not a challenge. And GTS started by not making me do it in order to proceed. But now PD tells me I need 20mn for two of the most beautiful cars EACH the game (and history) as to offer. This move has "Shark cards" written all over it.

So instead of grinding they keep you logging in every day for the chance a win it

PD trying make some cars ultra rare.
Monza Gr.3 was tons of fun. Turn 1 isn't as bad as I thought it would be, though I should thank ghosting for that.
Also the new Maggoire centre layout is good imo. Short circuit to test cars.

After being recommended the T300RS GT edition earlier in this thread, I've found that I can get the T300RS Alcantara edition (with the ferrari alcantara rim and the same pedals but with the older pedal plates). GT edition is 330 euros, Alcantara edition is 360 euros.

Given that my main gripe with the T300 is the rubber grip, it seems lile a good deal, but I'm worried about button mappings since the ferrari alcantara rim doesn't seem to have as many buttons as the GT rim. Does anyone know if it works well with most games? Mostly looking at Driveclub, Formula 1/Dirt/anything by Codies and Gran Turismo Sport (might throw in the ocassional Project Cars 2 one day). But mainly (right now almost exclusively) it's gonna be Gran Turismo and Dirt Rally.

Another option is to buy the GT Edition and buy some hand-stitch leather wrap to wrap over the GT rubber.

What the fuck…

What is the quickest way to make money?

I'm pretty sure I saw the Jag in the daily reward spin, didn't get it though.

Like others said, circuit experience is really easy money but after the other single player events I can recommend the following.

You can get 345k for a roughly 20min race in the third set of GT League races, that "Premium sports car" thing with 10laps around Maggiore. Its N1000 supposedly but I can win it with almost 2min lead using F40 that is downtuned to N400. That nets you a 130% or 140% handicap bonus + 50% from a clean race, giving you 345k and roughly 7,5k exp also.

Thanks for the tip. That sounds a bit better but the maths comes out to around 20hrs just doing that one race over and over to get the car.

I just had a look at my stats and noticed that even though I have played the game close to 100hrs I'd only made about 15mill so even if I hadn't spent a credit in all my play time I wouldn't have been able to get it anyway (I do play a lot of VR and you don't get credits for that, but that is really the only reason I actually want the 330 p4).

The best option seems to be luck of the draw, seeing as I have gotten duplicates of the same N200 - N400 cars and never got a car I actually wanted I don't see that happening anytime soon.

20 mill is just stupid. 5 mill would have been pushing it but achievable with the way the game is designed.

It is a bit silly that they are 20mil. Isn't the next highest price like 3 or 4 million? Even if the Jag and P4 were "only" 10mil, they would still require a lot of players money to get.

I guess the "positive" thing is that there aren't that many other really expensive cars that you "need" to save for.

I can only get it on my next pay cheque and shipping takes roughly two weeks so I'm looking at roughly the 8th. I want the combo with the limited edition ds4. Fingers crossed.

Ah ok, was going to offer a Day One edition if you wanted it sooner for free, I've a spare from when I took advantage of a price error here in the UK. Got a White PS4 Pro/White Controller/GT Sport and Hidden Agenda for £205.

If not then will maybe find someone that would like it, or do competition/random draw

If you want to practice prior to the race then use the custom arcade mode, apply the settings above where applicable and turn BOP on in the car settings.

Rules:

  • (GR3 drivers) - When overtaking GR4 cars be sensible and safe about it.
  • (GR3 drivers) If you wouldn't overtake another GR3 car in that location of the track then don't attempt an overtake there (tight S-bends/chicanes/etc) unless the GR4 driver has made it clear they are letting you past. Be patient.
  • (GR3 drivers) When you are about to perform your overtake flash your lights 2/3 times to make it clear to the GR4 driver that you are about to make your move.

  • (GR4 drivers) - Do not intentionally block GR3 drivers from overtaking, even if it might be helping your teammate out ;) .
  • (GR4 drivers) - When you see a GR3 car approaching, don't panic and make sudden erratic movements. If it is clear the GR3 driver can get past you easily and they have flashed their lights simply hold your line.
  • (GR4 drivers) - If you want to make your intentions clear and make way for the GR3 driver to perform the overtake then use your indicators to state which side of the track you will be moving over to as you would on public roads.

  • (Everyone) Have fun :)

Unless there are any major issues in week 1 we will use the settings above throughout Season 1. So feel free to practice for the future scheduled races using these settings as well.

Great work as always, GHG. Question, what does "invalidate time" mean on wall collision setting? Also, could be interesting to turn on damage?

Dude that livery looks amazing! Great work. Would be happy to use that throughout the season.

Appreciated, thanks! And cool, at least we might win the Best Dressed award. ;)

I guess the "positive" thing is that there aren't that many other really expensive cars that you "need" to save for.

Looked online and the 330 P4 seems to currently go for around $8 mil, so that $20 mil isn't even close to being real-world accurate. Seems really weird to price cars that way for a game that's supposed to be focused on racing, not car collecting. It wouldn't be as bad if the daily free car didn't give duplicates all the time (that you can't even sell).

Can we have sunset or sunrise settings. I'm tired of the plain sunny light condition we always get in Sport :/

Yeah, I'm a bit fan of the Dawn and Dusk settings also. Having the headlights on adds a certain something.

Invalidate time means your lap time for that particular lap (and the next if the incident happens in the final sector) doesn't get registered. It applies to wall collisions and cutting track limits because there are instances on certain tracks where wall rubbing in certain places can give you a faster lap time than if you didn't.

The reason I went this route instead of time penalties is because 10 points are awarded for the fastest lap during the race so making sure that is awarded to the person who sets the fastest legitimate lap is important. I also trust you guys not to take the piss and cut chicanes and stuff.

Just done some testing with the new patch and the fuel capacity changes are quite a big deal.

In light of that, the fuel depletion setting will be set to x7 instead of x6.

So it's x7 for both fuel and tires.

just finished my very first online race, daily monza.
hoped I would start in the back to just get ahold of things but nope, qualified 2nd. sheeeeet, warmup, "first corner, don't bump into the guy in front of you, don't be that guy" BUMP, fuck, great start. was late on the brakes.
race starts, things go better first corner, behind me carnage, yellow flag, drive too cautiously, cars pass me, whatever 1st race. by lap 5 I had a pretty good rhythm and a small fight with 4th, too bad I had to refuel, being 1st time I immediately pressed x to stop refuelling, I thought it means to exit pit, so I had to come in next round and refuel for real, finished 6th.
overall pretty cool experience, did no major mistakes even though I tried to push it later on, always stayed on the track.

They improved a lot the penalty system since December (last I played). I was consistently being pushed out of the track and getting penalties for that, when I was clearly not the wrong one. Now if someone do this, they ruin my race but at least they do not throw me to play with the dogs at SR D and E lol. I am back to SR B now, highest I've ever been. Probably close to SR A, after 3 clean races in a row.

Also, some small car touching are not penalized anymore, thanks god. This used to drive me nuts before, getting 5 seconds penalty because I touched someone or someone touched me, but a veeery small touch.

Did they stop showing when someone else gets a penalty? Im sure before 1.11 or 1.10 you would get a small notification saying that the other player got a penalty but haven't seen it today.

I'm so livid. Sat down to do the Monza endurace daily, practiced for 30 mins, went into the race and as I was out for the warmup going side by side with someone, suddenly boom, blue screen. All that time, wasted. PD have got to get the stability of this game worked out, I've had races and time ruined this way far too often.

edit: uh, they changed the races early tonight, and OH SHIT Y'ALL THERE'S A GR.1 RACE. Interlagos, 5 laps, non-endurance.

Did about 6 of the Gr.1 races, I'm worn out! They require a ton of constant concentration. Many sloppy drivers who can't really drive those cars, it was a sea of red SR. Some good racing when around people who were trying to be clean though.

I tried a few of the Gr.1 cars I have and settled on the Porsche 919 Hybrid, set a 1:21.something qualifier. The 4WD makes it more stable, good for all the turns on Interlagos, and it has great acceleration in the low gears. Seems like the leaderboard favorite is the Mazda VGT though. But I refuse to drive the VGTs and they look completely out of place next to real race cars. Shit looks like Ridge Racer. I say ban the things from Sport mode, they really break the illusion of driving in a real race and some of them obviously aren't well balanced.

Guys, are we sure about those tires?
I'm making 4, max 5 laps on hardest one available - there will be lots and lots of pit stops.
