Are there any tablet holders that attach to the Switch Pro Controller? That would be an ideal portable setup for me since I'm not a big fan of the joycons.

Just bought one last week and retired my PS4 Pro until something interesting comes out for it. Still getting used to the quirks of the Switch, but all in all I love it so far.

Subbed. My current favorite system and my favorite Nintendo system in a long time. Still fighting with joycon sync issues after sending them in for repair twice though -_-

Great to see this! Thanks!

If I could kick off with a question, it is how can I check the current battery life of the pro controller? In the controller option on the home menu I see a battery symbol that reduces but is there any way I can find an exact figure?

Zelda and Mario were absolutely brilliant. Splatoon 2's salmon run has been a nice multiplayer fix for me, though I wish it were available more often. I'm really glad the Switch's year 1 line up turned out to be stellar, with Xenoblade 2 still to come.

Just got one today with Mario and the Pro pad. It's great to play Mario on a proper controller again. It feels great. Far nicer than the Joycons/ to play with. Mario is a lot of fun and lots of nice touches and plenty to collect. I've just "finished" the first world/level with the Trex. Downloaded a few demos although could not find Project Octopath on the Store (which seems pretty bare bones in regards to categories and options, like original PS3 Store bad) so had to go on the website on my phone to get it :/ Not much to say about the UI other than its again barebones but the Switch doesn't really do much but play games right now I guess. Setting up a NID was also a fart about because you can't do this through the console. But beyond that it seems a nice system that's a little lacking in regards to options right now but hopefully Nintendo update it over the coming months. Will probably pick up Golf Story soon and have Xenoblade preorders. I'll probably borrow Zelda as I'm not a big fan of the series and weapon breakage is a big negative for me. Beyond that just waiting for Nintendo to announce new games.

The image at the top gave me a good idea for a joy-con color scheme: Red and White, like the logo on the box. The left joy-con can be red with white buttons and joystick, and the right joy-con can be white with red buttons and joystick. I'd buy it (if I had extra money. I barely have enough for all the Important Games, much less all of the Great Games on my wish list).

Also, when is the NX thread gonna be made? Seems like people forgot about it with all this Switch hype.

Great job Rosti, subbed.

I love my Switch. I've always loved Nintendo portables but this hybrid idea ain't bad at all - I love being able to play some of the bigger, more time-consuming titles on the go. It was the only way I was able to beat Xenoblade Chronicles thanks to the 3DS port, so it has reinvigorated my love for longer RPGs and other more time-consuming genres considerably, even though I find myself playing in docked mode a lot more often lately.

Just ordered Switch, Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda. It should arrive on Monday or Tuesday.

I already have Zelda WiiU-version, but switch portability and better performance made me double dip.

Some great times ahead for you guys. Don't forget Mario + Rabbids, one of the best games for the system. Definitely check it out, even if you think turn based rpg combat isn't your thing.

I've been 3/DS and PC only since midway through the Wii's lifespan. The Switch has been the perfect console for me, giving me the handheld fix but also easing me back into more traditional console experiences.

Cannae wait for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 after adoring the original on my 3DS. I just hope we get a port of Xenoblade Chronicles X at some point.

Watching this thread for sure, good OT.

I really want to play everything on my Switch now, I have no desire to sit at my PC or in front of a TV for extended gaming sessions anymore.

My dock and/or Switch wasn't able to work in dock mode so I had to send it to Nintendo.

Got my Switch last Thursday and so far I am content, but I need way more content.

Already got Mario Kart Deluxe, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors and Stardew Valley. Already finished Mario Odyssey with the postgame, Fire Emblem Warriors and I almost have Anna already and well Mario Kart and Stardew Valley are games which I play here and there like they are supposed to be. I am just too fast and now I am gameless again and have to wait for Xenoblade 2. :(

Already have Zelda on Wii U, Splatoon is not my thing and I also have Pokken on Wii U. ARMS does not impress me.

But the console itself is fine...just need more games. :-/

Edit: Also my right JoyCon has connectivity issues which makes me really really angry. Thanks Nintendo for solving the production problem...

I've owned every Nintendo console ever (except Virtual Boy) and I've already invested more time and money into the Switch than anything probably since the good ole N64. In recent years I had pretty much fallen out of the hobby... I own an Xbox One that is basically my Netflix/streaming box now. I've purchased more games for the Switch in the 6ish months of its existence than I've bought probably in the last 15 years. After I finish Odyssey I'm diving back into the indies (Steamworld Dig 2 is the next likely target). Switch is the best thing in gaming in my opinion in the last decade at least.

I love basically everything about the Switch. I want to play everything on it.

Congrats to you both. Don't sleep on the indies. Golf Story is top notch and I've logged >75 hours in Stardew Valley. Both are absolutely worth your time.

Love my Switch.

Will love it even more dearly if we get Hollow Knight this month for it.
Seconded. I'm crossing my fingers for both Hollow Knight and Night in the Woods (now that the devs have teased it) before the end of the year. They'd be great side-dishes (although calling it that may be a disservice to HK, if what I hear about length and scope in that game is correct) to Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Also, to those new owners getting it for Mario/Zelda...

Don't sleep on Steamworld Dig 2.

Bought it for Mario and I really love the system. My favourite feature of the Wii U was the portable controller and this just perfects it! Quick 5 minute sessions adds up to a lot of gaming in a day, something that I haven't been able to do in a while..

The Switch is fantastic. Love Zelda and Mario and I'm looking forward to picking up Doom.

Excited to see Prime 4 next year and hope that Retro's game is 3D Donkey Kong.

Been playing Mario Odyssey every day since release and having an absolute blast. I was never that big of a Mario fan aside from the Mario Kart series, but I'm blown away by how much I'm playing this one.

Before Mario Odyssey I was set on BotW being my personal GotY but now with Mario, I don't know. Both games are so amazing and it's hard to me to fond major flaws. I'd be nitpicking. I'll wait til I get to post game Mario and see which I like better. Once I beat Zelda I really hadn't no desire to go back into it for Korok seeds or shrines, despite how absolutely terrific the 70+ hours I put into my play through. Will see if Mario post-game will keep me playing after beating it story.

So personally for me, these 2 games alone have made my Switch purchase feel like a no brainer. There have been some other games in between I've played here and there like Binding of Isaac, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and I still have Steamworld Dig 2 that's on the back burner til I finish Mario but the next big game is Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in December. If that's as good as I hope, this first year of Switch is gonna be godly.

But one side effect that I didn't see with the Switch, is that my GF took to a couple games and basically took ownership of my Switch for a couple games. I bought Picross for her since she's into Sudoku on her iPhone, and I thought maybe she'd like to try out a similar game. Oh man, once she learned how to play it I didn't get my Switch back until like a week later when Mario came out. I checked my play logs, she put 45+ hours into Picross! I laughed out loud when I saw that. She also took to Puyo Puyo Tetris before that as well. So that's pretty awesome so far.

This thread alone is the reason era is better than GAF. Stupid useless rule about no console OTs.

I love my Switch too! I got mine at launch but hadn't put in a lot of time with it until this past week with Mario Odyssey! The system is a full leap ahead of Wii U in every way. The first year line up has been obscenely great, better than it has any right to be! I haven't even frickin touched Zelda yet! I'll finally start and make a dent in that once that second and final DLC expansion gets our! I figure if I'm going to put serious time into that game I should have the complete experience! I also have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Puyo Puyo Tetris, which I haven't even touched yet. I think after I'm through my PS4 backlog is clear which I've put a big dent in this year Switch is going to be seeing a LOT more usage that's for damn sure. I'm also liking the fact that I get good volume levels with my headphones on Switch..finally!

This is exactly what Nintendo needed when they needed it! I knew immediately upon seeing that Introduction video on YouTube this time last year it'd be a smash hit! They communicated CRYSTAL clear exactly what Switch is, the concept, and the hook this time. It's easily understood and there's zero doubt what it is. The thing that made me certain this was going to take off was when both my parents who are in their early 60s clearly understood what Switch is and what they're trying to do with it. My Dad hasn't touched any video games in 4 years and my Mom...not since the Atari 2600. So you know when our parents are clearly getting it Nintendo nailed communicating clearly. I knew it would do well, but even I'm surprised how quickly it's taking off! The fact it will likely outsell the final amount of Wii Us sold within its first year is staggering! I think their revised forecast of 14 million is a bit low, I feel they'll exceed that pretty easily it's just a question of by how much. I feel confident it can sell at LEAST wish the 3DS has the way it's going.

I'm looking forward to Xenoblade 2 and they've got me on board for sure with Yoshi and Kirby! Almost definitely getting Octopath now thaf that's for sure coming West! If the Switch version of Dragon Quest 11 makes it over I'm strongly leaning Switch for that as well. I hope Switch will become a RPG powerhouse like in the Super NES/Famicom days! Smash is virtually guaranteed-I think either a Brawl or 4 deluxe would be ideal and they can just add on characters, stages, and modes from there. Pokemon is going to sell insane..lthat thimg alone could sell 15 million plus Switches! We shall see. The rest of the 2018 line up will be...interesting to see unfold to say the least. There's a lot they can do, a lot I'm hoping they'll do we'll just have to see what they have planned!

There's only a few major 3DS localizations to go, I'm thinking next year they'll shift everything hard over to Switch. A lot of the 3DS userbase should be pretty comfortable making the jump at that point!

This success is totally deserved and I couldn't be happier for Nintendo!

These red joycons look rad.

This year has been so packed. SMO, BOTW, Stardew Valley, Rabbids, MK8, Splatoon 2, ARMS.
I can't wait for them to start dropping what they have in stock for 2018. So many studios we haven't heard of as of yet.
