I wish KOF XIII was on Switch. Dat upside-down joycon. lol.

I am surprised it doesn't have a caption: PLAY STREET FIGHTER ON YOUR NINTENDO

I bought rocket league today, only ever played it on the PS4 / PS4 Pro so I was expecting a massive downgrade but it's honestly not bad at all, the frame rate is nice and smooth too.

My Switch has stopped connecting to the TV. I put it in the dock, it's charging because I se a notification saying 100% charged, but the screen in the console stays on and nothing appears on the TV.

I tried following Nintendo's advice to plug the HDMI directly into the TV instead of my receiver. That did nothing.

Has this happened to anyone else? How did you resolve it? Or should I just ring Nintendo customer service tomorrow?

I've already had to return one Switch that had faulty joy-cons, hope this isn't another defect.

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Have you tried swapping out the HDMI cable to see if maybe your current one broke?

So, a screen protector. Do you use them? Are they necessary? My 8 year old is starting to use the switch and I'm getting nervous

Some people swear by them, but here are the chances that I would ever put a screen protector on my device...and also the number of times I've had a scratch on the screen of a device I've owned in my whole life:

So, there is a Nintendo support article but you may have already referenced it. See here: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.../blank-screen-or-no-image-displayed-on-the-tv

Is that the one you already looked at when trying to connect the HDMI directly to the TV?
I used one from the UK site. That one didn't suggest resetting the power adapter though. I'm gonna try that now!

Edit - It didn't work. That is a way more helpful page though. I didn't know there was a green indicator on the dock that lights up when it's connected to the TV. My dock's indicator isn't coming on.

I'm so happy I didn't buy Kingdom Battle yesterday. I'm so in for $42! Definitely getting Celeste too.

I'm really bored right now, I need something to play on my Switch. There doesn't seem to be any important releases until Kirby launch in March but I don't want to wait that long.

There is Lost Sphear but I really hated I Am Setsuna so that's not an option, I guess.

What do you guys recommend?

How is Steamworld Heist on the Switch? I've played both Steamworld Dig (Wii U) and Steamworld Dig 2 (Switch) - I loved both of them. Absolutely fantastic games. I'm considering Heist since the reviews are so great but the gameplay descriptions/videos don't make sense to me - I'm having trouble getting a feel for what the game is like.

Can you give me more details?

I think it plays better then the 3DS version. A bigger screen really helps.

The gameplay is tactical and you have to aim and ricochet bullets to take out enemies. Its pretty solid. You also collect hats.

A couple weeks in, I've got switch fever. I understand now. I understand why people port beg in every thread and want every game on this thing.

If it had been explained to me before that it's basically a Vita 2 with some extra modularity and VitaTV in the box, I probably wouldve been on board earlier lol

It's too early to think about this, but I am hoping the next system is just Switch 2 with a spec bump and other fine tuned aspects. Like, this is the ideal form for a console. You can add VR or whatever else to it, but this combined console+portable concept should just be standard from now on. Tablets are cheap to make, mobile tech is strong enough- I can't see them walking back on this concept.

I picked up Earth Wars. Seems really good

I thought it looked hilarious in some screens and the animation seemed quite rough, then I bought dirt cheap on PS4 and actually enjoyed what I played. It's kinda blatantly vanillaware but at the same time, Vanillaware hasn't made a post apocalyptic sci fi game, so this team had plenty of original ideas in there as well. Very happily dropped the $4.50 to get this on Switch. It's pretty ambitious and I think this team's next game with more budget could be something special.

I hope after Switch successful first year -both hardware and software wise- we will stop seeing inflated prices of old game ports, especially regarding their digital versions.

I don't think it'll get better.
People talked about how 1-2 Switch should have been free, when Nintendo laughs in their faces, because they make so much money with it as a full prized title.

I could see it going either way. As more and more good games are released, there's going to be less people willing to pay that kind of money for ports of old games. If it's enough people to make a difference, who knows.

I really want to see the year pick up for retail releases on Switch. I imagine that the first five months will be a somewhat rough period for Switch-only gamers who played on WiiU. The early games can only tide some players for so long.

For the general populace, I'm interested to see if the momentum from the 2017 will translate to a steady stream of new owners. For most of us, all of these ports are new games, but I would likely only buy them if they were priced appropriately. I will have to jump on the train at some point and late 2018 is when it likely gets real for me.

My feeling exactly. The switch completely killed other gaming systems for me, I don't imagine myself starting a game at home and not being able to play on the go or in the restroom. Beyond the games (which are excellent and plenty for a 10 months old system), it's really the device itself that I like, and that's a first for me.

Is 1-2 switch any good? Compare to wii sports/resort if possible please. Need another local mop game for early elementary age kids.

I don;t own it but for the little I "played" it, it seemed like a poor excuse of a video game. If you want a fun party game, Overcooked is the way to go.

I'm sorry for the dumb question, but is there a solution to use a Switch Pro controller as a fake 360 one just like DS4Windows, on PC? I can use it the same way i would use a generic dinput pad, right?

Anyone else have an issue where you can hear the analog spring on a joycon as it is being rotated? It's happening on my right joycon. It's kind of irritating, not sure if there is anything I can do to fix it.

So I bought Furi and I really do not like it. I have not played it on other platforms, but the controls seem very laggy to me, something is just off. Am I the only one experiencing input lag? (handheld mode)

Is there anything nearly as good as the City Slicker case available in the UK without paying for shipping?

I just got a quote, and with shipping it's about £80, which feels far too rich for a case. I don't doubt the quality of their product at all, it's just a shame they don't have a UK reseller.

Amazons selection are just varying hard cases with zips and frankly seem too big / a bit cheap.

What are some good twin-stick shooters on the Switch? I already have Jydge which I enjoy (waiting for Tesla vs. Lovecraft currently...) and Gungeon, which I don't enjoy that much for whatever reason. Something fast and simple preferably. :)

Does anyone else find it hard to go back to the other consoles after playing on the Switch...?

It's weird, I just can't get into anything on my S or PS4 Pro...played Monster Hunter for about 10 hrs and while I really like it, was just thinking about going back and playing more Odyssey or Stardew or Celeste, etc.

Maybe its because I'm getting older or my lifestyle...I don't know. The Switch completely reinvigorated my love for Nintendo and gaming, everything else just feels....boring.

Really close to just going all in with it....I know there's games I'll miss out on but with my limited time that's gonna happen anyways. Nintendo's ecosystem is where I'm most invested and excited about.

My story is similar but actually started with the Wii U. My love for games went through a bit of a renaissance after playing games like Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, etc. I had this realization that I got the most enjoyment from local co-op games, especially since I do not commit as much time to gaming as I used to.

So, I actually went all-in on the Wii U (I sold my PS3), knowing that the "NX" was coming eventually. I now only own the Switch and it's just been a blast, especially with the commitment Nintendo has shown to the eShop. I still find myself interested in what Sony and MS are doing but the Switch has provided enough options to take up all of my gaming time.

Does anyone know if Best Buy still sells preowned games? I recently joined the GCU when noticing that Rayman was on sale, and one of the coupons I was given for joining was a Buy 2, Get One Free for Preowned games. Only problem is I don't see them advertised on the site anymore when I click on the offer.

I did a Google search for Best Buy Pre-Owned video games and the page it sent me to on Best Buy's website was broken. Weird. I would imagine they still sell pre-owned games since they are still doing video game trade-in. Have you stopped by an actual Best Buy store to see if they still have a pre-owned section?

I feel the same. Until I bought my Switch 4 months ago, I was getting really bored by gaming and I was hating my Xbox One a bit more each passing day. I could not tell you if it was because of the games, or just because I was getting really annoyed to be forced to play on my couch in my living room. I was about to stop video games for several months so it would feel fresh again when I would be back.

But then I bought the Switch because I knew I wanted a portable experience and as you, it reinvigorated my will and passion for VG! I'm dedicated to paying games only on my Switch now, and the happy thing is that I come back time to time on my Xbox One, because this time, I do it with pleasure and because I really want it.

Switch really is a fresh experience for me since I didn't owned a Nintendo system since the GameCube (<3) and that's a pleasure to be back!

That's awesome...I'm glad I'm not the only one lol.

It's weird, before the Switch I wasn't really into handhelds. I mean I've owned several in the past and got my fill of them but I was always a strict console first guy....but with the Switch I play almost always in handheld mode. It's really cool to have that option there of docking it if I want but the options it provides for play styles really fits me.

I love being able to sit with my wife and 4 yr. old and not feel like I'm ignoring them or neglecting "family time" all while still being able to play epics like BotW, Odyssey, Skyrim, etc.

The thought of having to be tethered to a console and TV (hogging it up of course) is just so unappealing to me any more...it almost feels antiquated.
