Yeay!!!! Ferrari 512 BB and Monza with the patch. Wooooooooot.

  • Dodge Viper GTS
  • Ferrari 512 BB
  • Ferrari 330 P4
  • Ford GT
  • Jaguar XJ13
  • Lamborghini Diablo GT
  • McLaren F1
  • Toyota 2000GT
  • Toyota FT-1
  • Toyota Supra RZ
Monza and some new Laggo Maggiore layouts added too. And some GT League events, meh.

Edit: Sorry if this was already known. I have been out of the GTS loop for a minute and just saw the PS Blog post. The 512 BB was my absolute favorite car to drive in GT5.

Good update, Im just pissed that GT League is such a joke, there is no way any decent driver can have fun on it. As I was saying yesterday, the difficulty is a complete joke. Not to say races with 600hp cars where you have to use street tyres lol It really feels like the guys at PD spend all their time tweaking the graphics and adding stuff that they dont actually play the fucking game. How the hell was I riding a PORSCHE against a few VW SAMBA? lol I should just drop the GT League entirely and go back to Sports.

I just got this game yesterday thanks to all the free updates coming, but I have to ask how the hell do you play this game with a gamepad without driving aids? If you start skidding even the slightest tap in the other direction results in you spinning into a tree, this never happened in older GT's or Forza. I tried counter steer assistance but it didn't seem to help all that much.

It's almost like there's no pad filtering, a thumbstick is very far from a wheel and 1:1 input is deadly.

I don't mean to be dismissive but this is nowhere near 1:1 input. Umm I set the steering speed to 3 if you want to try that?

Its not 1:1.

I never play with assists and I turned up the sensitivity on the pad as I found it too sluggish, not had a single problem with GT Sport on a pad. However, I can play Dirt Rally and Project Cars fine with no assists so might just be I'm used to controls that need much finer input.

Sounds like you're not accounting for car weight or too heavy on the throttle.

I'm also not used to the dualshock 4 for racing games tbh, I much prefer the Xbox thumbsticks and triggers. I know i'm at fault but man it feels very different from previous GTs with a pad to me.

Thanks again GHG for all the work setting up the league. Here's hoping McLaren gets a nerf though, haha.

New update looks sweet! As I said before I'm not really into these cars because at most they'll end up in single make races in Sport mode, but that 330 P4 is a beautiful thing to see. New tracks though! I've only raced the 1960s version of Monza in Grand Prix Legends so I don't know how the modern layout is, but glad to have another real-life track. Hopefully those new Maggiore layouts have more care put into them than the Yamagiwa+Miyabi circuit did.

And did I see LEAVES on the track??

Do I get matched with people with similar track times or similar skill?

As in, do I get better people if I do the qualifying vs just starting the race with no time.

Feel free to swap cars within your teams if you wish as I know a lot of people stated they didn't mind whether they got a GR3 or a GR4 seat.

Great work bud, really looking forward to this :-)

You get matched by SR and DR primarily, and not doing qualifying will just stick you at the back.

My dude.

It'll be interesting to see the BoP changes, I hope the 458 gets a bit of a power boost, or least fixes the gearing on the Gr.4. I've also almost finished the Christina Nielsen livery for the 458 Gr.3; it'd be cool to use similar liveries for both cars, though no pressure if you want to use something else.

Okay, I finally finished the Gr.3 version of my Christina Nielsen livery. Because this was actually the version of car she raced I wanted to make it as accurate as possible to her livery, which took quite a while with all the striping work (I really wish the editor had a vector tool). I had to make some minor changes because the 458 GTE she drove seems to have a different hood, and some of the bodywork on the rear is different. I don't know if this is custom work done by Formula Racing, or if these are mistakes on PD's part.

Gotta say I'm pretty happy with the result. Here's the livery link.

I wouldn't expect too much from my McLaren this weekend, had a try this morning with the usual settings and I was burning my rears out in 3 laps and Nurb GP is one of my worst tracks (getting my excuses in early!). Cants believe they've reduced the power on the GR3 Citroen even more :-( The RSR has been dominant yet they nerf the Citroen by the same amount, it doesn't make sense.

Standardising on fuel tank sizes is a good move though, some cars just couldn't compete in endurance with their tiny tank capacities.

I need to get practicing, will hopefully get some time in tonight and tomorrow ready. I see you're GR3 as well, should be fun hopefully. I'll probably be using pad as I've knackered my knee and being honest, I've not really had my wheel out for GT:S yet. Hoping to put a log cabin at the bottom of the garden this summer to turn to a games room so will have it all set up in there hopefully.

So I did the Monza Gr.3 endurance daily. First of all, the track seems to be a bit slapdash as there's major tree pop-in on the first straight, at least on the base PS4. I hope they get that sorted because it's very obvious. I've only played the 1960s version of Monza and that's been years, so I was flailing around a bit in the 458 Gr.3; the kerbs don't play nicely and some of those chicanes are easy to get the wrong speed going into them after the long straights. Also noticed that the track limits are pretty strict as far as penalties; you can't cut most corners like most of the other GTS tracks. Could be a fun track after I learn it, but unfortunately there's no Circuit Experience for this new track! I fear that Circuit Experience is going to get more and more outdated as new tracks arrive. It's a shame because that mode has really helped me improve on tracks.

Did some laps around the new Maggiore layouts. Center is really really short and probably better for road cars. East and West are okay, they don't really add too much of a new dimension to Maggiore but they're nice change-ups. The normal Maggiore feels a bit different now because of the changes made to support the alternate circuits, and it was a bit disorienting to have visual cues suddenly missing. There's one spot after the fast chicane going into the downhill that has changed. People who overshoot that last turn would go into the grass, but that area is now all track surface with no seeming penalty there. Definitely reduces the difficulty factor and reduces the impact of reduced speed going into the downhill, so not sure how I feel about that.

Also did the Yamagiwa Supra daily. Maybe I never noticed before but Yamagiwa seems like it has more track detail like billboards and such now. Makes it feel more like a real track. I think they've also made a visual change (and possibly track alteration?) to the end of that downhill; it was a bit disorienting at first trying to hit the usual mark there.

I wouldn't expect too much from my McLaren this weekend, had a try this morning with the usual settings and I was burning my rears out in 3 laps and Nurb GP is one of my worst tracks (getting my excuses in early!). Yeah none of the BoP changes seem drastic, so I guess they think they're at the point of fine tuning the cars. I feel you on the Citroen, but I bet it's still more competitive than the poor Alfa 4C Gr.4. I still have no idea why they nerfed that so hard, I barely saw any Alfas being used even before that.

Eyeball, that livery looks fantastic.

Thanks!! I hope they improve the editor over time; you can do some cool stuff, but man is it tedious. Just simple things like being able to group a set of layers and then move them in tandem would be a big help.

Is it worth doing a trial mixed class run this Sunday, before commencing with the Era Endurance league proper? See if we can learn any lessons for running the event?

Also, we gonna have an Era Endurace League OT set up?

Im back at SR C after being dumped to E on a single race last December. Monza low speed turns (first one for example) are a paradise for SR E players, they just push you out of the track and that is it, no way you are recovering from that.

Yesterday's Kyoto Miyabi daily featuring a shitty Daihatsu was awesome at improving your SR. You have to brake for only one corner and you have a lot of place to escape if you see the guy behind trying to divebomb.

Oh and I managed to fix my bug from my previous post. I just had to hover over each empty tile for about 4-5 seconds for the game to download (?) the correct paintjob/livery. And they've stayed that way, I'll check later what happens after a reboot.

What is the quickest way to make money?

Complete all single player content (Driving Lessons, Mission Challenges and Track Experience) - you'll get a ton of money and loads of prize cars.

The amount of prize cars you'll receive by doing all that (including your daily workout bonus) will mean you'll most likely win the car before you can buy it.

Yes, you might get it in the daily car lottery, but that won't be nearly enough to actually buy one, never mind both. I've golded everything, only bought two (cheap) cars, and I'm sat at about 8.5 million...

Sadly I did all that ages ago and around level 30 at the moment. I need 17 million for that 330 p4, the only option I can see now is to grind for credits in some way. I really don't like the idea of that, would prefer to go earn some real money with that time instead unless there is a quick way to rake it in fast.

Yeah I'm in a similar situation. Level 34, done with all campaign stuff and currently broke after buying some GT3/4 cars in the past. ;) I've been trying some professional GT League races (100k credits for the win) but I haven't checked how their payouts are compared to playing Arcade Mode on the highest difficulty (and on tracks where you're more likely to win).

I see PD still thinks this is alright to do, spending 6 months building a car so that 0.1% of the userbase will get to play

Yeah, they probably didn't think that one through... 20mn, holy cow! I already finished 100% of the game's offline content and don't have even close enough money to buy one of them, despite having just bought maybe 2-3 cars so far.
