Yup. The addition of the bit streams has been great but it's good to get a jolly chilled out stream

I'm hoping we get a non tournament DB Fighter z stream next week. IMO They need a night just learning the game some before a tournament

I honestly don't think there's a chance of something other than FighterZ getting voted for next week.

Welp I guess Musashi streams are on hold until Kyle finds a new disc, if he cares to.

(Frame Trap) I agree, there should be a limit on the time a game is discussed. If they wanted to talk 10+ minutes about a game then do a preview video about it. The podcast is just long for no reason when there's a few games being about.

I hugely, hugely disagree about time limits. Like not disagreed about anything more in this trhead. They're talking about what they played, 10 minutes is nowhere near enough and it's what I go to Frame Trap for. I'd probably ditch the whole show if they were just going to give brief hot takes on games.

Maybe it's just me, but I love hearing them discuss about the games that they're playing, even if I have no interest in said games. After playing the first Beta, I feel like Monster Hunter World isn't for me, but I still enjoy listening to them talk enthusiastically about why it excites them, especially those new to the franchise. Ben is also pretty good at bringing up thoughtful points and questions too, to make it more of a discussion than a monologue imo.

I agree. FT is for longer form discussions. In fact it's the only real venue for them to really do that outside of spoiler modes. But those are different beasts and not every game needs a spoiler mode. Also I think the round robin style for discussion of their games is an improvement

I am getting it next week or the first week of Feb so if you ever wanna play online, PM me and I would be willing to play! I have a group already and we could easily include if you wanna play multiplayer, as long as it is PS4 since MHW doesn't have crossplay

Ohh thanks!

Does anyone miss the old 4 person frametraps? I feel like they should rotate the formats do 3 people some times and 4 people other times

Definitely, it's better to hear from more allies than less for me and there's a higher chance of a random gem getting brought up.

Honestly FighterZ should've won the vote this week. I think people saw it nominated and didn't vote cause it wasn't out and they assumed the Allies hadn't received it.
Anyway, I plan on nominating it as soon as the notification for the committee appears though if for some reason I can't, I have no doubt 4 people will have nominated it by the time I go vote.

Looking forward to watch the Niddhog stream later today.

No time limits on (frame trap) discussions please.
If someone is bothered by it they can skip ahead, the alternative is limiting the discussions which I see as a lot worse.

Would hate time limits for games on Frame Trap.

Imagine in the midst of a great discussion about a game Ben goes "oh, sorry guys seems we've hit our time limit, time to move on...." it would make the whole show feel weird and artificial. Like are they really saying what they want to say about a game or just trying to get through it in time?

If somebody is really uninterested in a game on Frame Trap that's what timestamps are for.

Wait Huber's new? I don't listen to their wrestling stuff but I thought it was Brad who was introduced to it relatively reccently

That's right. Huber has watched years for years, sometimes on and off. Brad got into it just several years ago I think.

It's the Rumble, they did one last year, so here's hoping they remember lol. Still sad we didn't get a Survivor Series follow up.

Have they mentioned when Tabletop Escapades would be returning?

Next week, according to the schedule.

Huber used to watch when he was younger (he mentions watch the Dudley's so probably early 2000's), but he got back into it around the 2015 Royal Rumble when the Dudley's returned.

Sure Brad may have started watching after Huber, but Brad is a full blown smark. Its great.

Edit: I meant that Huber is still pretty "new" to the PG product. He didn't sit through the last 12 years of Super Cena, 5 years of "Make Roman Look Good", 9 years of start/stop with Ziggler, Once in a Lifetime Twice in a Lifetime, or you know...all of your favorite wrestlers never getting pushed and fucked over. I guess he is a Wyatt fan, but I can't really blame WWE when Wyatt's promos are terrible, his matches are terrible, and once the entrance is done, he's pretty much nothing.

WWE is just a dumpster fire.

Edit: Case in point, Huber said something along the lines of "Mahal deserved it" and they should "give it a shot and see where it goes". Nah dude. I remember Brad calling him out on that during the Summerslam show.

It was suggested less than a minute after the first suggestion, so don't worry, you didn't miss getting it in early!
Yeah I was glad to see it among the first choices but...

I thought FighterZ would steam roll everything else. Maybe the poll will be different.
This! I can't believe it. Perhaps I underestimated how many EZA fans were DBZ fans but after FighterZ was the second most-requested game on the E3 discussion streams after Odyssey, I thought FighterZ would wreck everything once it came out.

But yeah maybe (hopefully) the real poll is different. Though no matter what, we get Dojos so it's all good.

The only explanation I can come up with is that a lot of people want to save it for the next tournament, because yeah, who doesn't love DBZ? And FighterZ looks amazing.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't just change the date of the tournament specifically for this since the last one was so botched anyway.

Yeah that's probably it but I want them to actually get competent at the game so that a tournament is more interesting. And this game is very easy to get competent at.

I'd get rid of hottake if I wanted shorter Frame Traps. I would miss emails more but won't get mad if they were cut too.

The dream would be weekly Frame Trap, meaning we'd catch up with all the allies every month.

Nooo I love Hottake!
I'd rather drop the "what are you playing" and shoot those as Just Played, keep them the same format as Frame Trap but they could share them throughout the week. Then Frame Trap can have a bigger focus on e-mails, with hottake in the middle of the show as a "topic of the week" type of conversation.

Nothing has to be dropped. Nothing is going to be dropped. It's a long form podcast with time stamps. Don't like something just skip ahead. Win win

I just wish the Hottakes were actually spicy. Often times it's a really bland topic that they take the middle of the road option on. No fire or passion or anything. Besides that Frame Trap is fine. I skip any game I'm not interested in which is like 90% these days but the discussions I do listen to are usually neat.

I get the crew's bread and butter is videogames.. but I find myself more and more drawn to their goofy improv stuff.

They should just rip off some of the old Whose Line Is It Anyways games for a group stream.

DBZ is going to do the impossible: get me to buy a non-smash fighting game

(If virtua fighter still existed it would not be so rare)

Even though last nights GOW stream buckled due to some PS3 hw issues. It's been interesting the attention it's gotten from GOW devs. During that stream apparently someone on the new GOW dev team (I think worked level design) popped in to say high. Then I see this tweet from the Ready At Dawn founder

Does anybody know the which PUBG video Huber was talking about in the last Frame Trap, the one with the two terrible players who just leave each other be?

I don't think the hottakes will ever get too spicy unless the topic is outright infuriating like EA closing down Visceral. Not that this is a bad thing.

In general, Hottakes aren't supposed to be Opinion Yell as much as a friendly, moderated discussion for people to air their thoughts. Usually, those thoughts are pretty straightforward and unfortunately, those straightforward thoughts might not to make for the most dramatic of discussions for some people. In a weird way, especially passionate hottakes can feel at odds with the easy, breezy nature of the first two hours of Frame Trap with the guys just lounging around shooting the shit.

That said, it doesn't mean that Hottakes aren't engaging discussions. They're usually great.

The craziest thing about that GameTrailers commercial is that there are several comments from as recently as two weeks ago claiming that they're still being used on some services.
