You'll get a CG trailer that'll leave you with more questions.
Well, previous job postings did call the game a "third person cover shooter", so I guess it's not entirely impossible that you play an Agent of SHIELD instead:
It also sounds like an online game, so an Agent of SHIELD would also fit in with the create a character thing common in such games:
Current gen with a Definitive Edition™ that releases in time with the new console launchesI'm curious as to whether this project is going to be current or cross gen (or possibly even next gen only).
Seems like the members saying this just don't like superheroes
It's not a movie tie in. Has nothing to do with the movie.
This. I'm not playing an Avengers game as a normal human soldier. We have more than enough of that. Would be a huge waste of IPMy interest in this depends on whether we'll actually play as an Avenger or just a Shield agent
I remember that. I hope that's for Widow, Falcon & Hawkeye. And that they plan to use the wider cast.Well, previous job postings did call the game a "third person cover shooter", so I guess it's not entirely impossible that you play an Agent of SHIELD instead:
Not from this team
There's no pressure. It's not a movie tie-in. The whole point of their new games initiative is to let teams build the games they want to make without being bound to movie plots or schedulesI want to believe, but after the Star Wars games I feel like this is going to let me down. I know, different developers, but there's too much pressure to get this out by a certain time.

If it's an Arkham Asylum/City/Knight quality game it won't be
It's not no matter what. These are all external hires which means they are voluntarily moving over there because they are excited about the project.
This "wasted talent" is cleary getting to work on something they personally feel motivated to be on. Sounds pretty great to me
I mean, it's good for them if they are excited to make this game.
But a third person cover shooter GaaS Avengers game sounds like literally the most unappealing idea a publisher could come up with.
For you?
Most people like comic books and most people like GAAS titles. 8 of the top 20 selling games of the year were GAAS.
I can' wait to see this gake and the level of talent they are hiring only reinforces that

I'd take literally anything over it.My thoughts exactly. I may be in the minority but I'm so sick of comic based movies/games.
But it very clearly plays into the fact the movies are coming out around the same time. Not strictly a movie tie-in then, but close enough.
Also, even if we count games based on comics, we haven't had a top quality triple-A comic book game since... Arkham? Spiderman seems to be good enough but it isn't out yet. Deadpool, Wolverine, etc. were decent at best.
Both Naughty Dog and Santa Monica are notorious for bleeding staff due to having some of the hardest crunch in the industry.

It's not uncommon to crunch toward internal milestones, especially if your project is struggling (like their game that got canned).
Not that many good comic based games though. Which is why people are so excited for a good Spiderman game. I understand movies though. My thoughts exactly. I may be in the minority but I'm so sick of comic based movies/games.

We also had a Santa Monica developer back on GAF talk about working 80+ hour weeks for like two years straight so...
The talent includes Shaun Escayg, former Naughty Dog creative director, and Stephen Barry, a 27 year games vet from EA and Visceral Games.
"We hired fifteen world-renowned industry veterans, spanning production leadership, animation, design, art and engineering, who have previously worked on games such as Batman: Arkham Origins, Dead Space, Star Wars: Battlefront and many more," shared Ron Rosenberg, Co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics. "Their AAA experience adds to an already deep roster, making us well-positioned to deliver on the ambitious goals we've set for ourselves with The Avengers project. It's a stellar addition of many people who fit incredibly well into our wheelhouse of building game experiences we all love."
Escayg, whose accomplishments include Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and The Last of Us, exclaimed, "I'm thrilled to join Crystal as Creative Director and be aligned with a team as passionate about telling great character based stories as I am."
