I've been very much on the opposite end of Wolfenstein 2. I really don't like the gameplay segments, found them dull and not as good as a lot of other FPS games. However there's still a lot to love about the game. It's a trip worth experiencing.

Kyle hasn't pissed me off as much as he did when he said the Gamecube start up sound was "kiddy" in a long time lol

Started the stream with Hidden Agenda, quick question for anyone that knows.
Is it a full thing like Until Dawn(without the "gameplay") or is it just a fun little extra side thing?

I don't understand how people don't have time to listen to podcasts, is there a reason. How do you consume podcasts that you can't have it on the background.

I would love a five hour Frame Trap. I can never get enough of any EZA podcast, honestly. Frame Trap especially.

there is no time to consume all media (books, series, movies, games, podcasts) period
This is true, but listening to podcasts is a lot easier than all of those for me. You can get caught up while driving, studying, working on projects, cooking, getting caught up on video games, etc. I think some people listen to them while exercising but that's crazy to me but still. Can't really say that for anything else except music.

Nobody posted the Box Peek Update yet?
-> https://www.patreon.com/posts/november-box-15153475

It's going to be a looong time until we get the first episode.
I dunno, but maybe they should work more with deadlines. It can really boost productivity. I mean, The Final Bosman was weekly and Kyle absolutely delivered pretty much every time. Maybe he needs the pressure. :)
Also, if you don't have time to work on this project, maybe you should ditch some of these hours long streaming sessions. They are fun, for sure, but don't really help to grow the brand like scripted content does.
But yeah, I know Kyle is not full time, so it's easier said than done. And I'm sure Box Peek is gonna be great when it eventually airs.

I would just like to see something new from the Allies, cause while I like their podcasts and some of their streams, it's not really that exciting anymore. Every week feels the same. Except when they do something out of the ordinary on the group streams, like The Hall of Greats, but that's pretty rare.
Long story short: give Huber his Game Show. :D

So is Hidden Agenda bad or was it just that their playthrough was underwhelming? I was planning on playing it with my friends so I skipped their playthrough. I haven't played Until Dawn either but that's harder to arrange a group play for.

(not quite sure what the difference between Hangouts and regular forum is, but I'm sure I'll figure it out),
Regular forum is more topical, Hangouts are more community focusd. So even though this thread is titled Easy Allies we can talk about whatever.

And welcome here.

The 5 hour Frametrap is the illusive holy grail of podcasts. Longest so far was Ryan Stevens guesting I believe?

Dunno how they're planning to do Game of the Year this time around but I hope we get to hear deliberations in greater detail ala Giantbomb.
Just wanna have some heated salt in good fun basically a weird variation of the Hall of Great vibes.

This seems flippantly asked, but since they were brought up earlier, I do feel like Vice and a guy like Austin Walker are more qualified to talk about subjects like this and provide something of value to say.

I dunno, maybe I'm just being overly dismissive of them, but I don't know what the Michael Hubers or Greg Millers of the industry are going to add to my perspective. It would seem like the people actually engaged in journalistic enterprise would be more suited for this. But maybe they would provide something of value, again I dunno.

not flippant. i was honestly perplexed as to why someone's go to for thoughts on sexual harassment and more specifically sexual harassment in the video game industry would be a political scientist

Doesn't have to be a politician scientist, but a guy like Walker who has been in academic circles, who has a Masters, and experience with writing just seems like a more credible and interesting source than say, Twitch entertainers.

Sometimes, life works out that way. For me, it's pretty easy to "not have time" for podcasts. My work environment doesn't allow me to listen to podcasts but it's a job with long hours and I have a very short commute (less than 10 minutes to the office). I know it's a very specific example but it's one nonetheless.
Still, I'm an avid podcast listener so I basically have to cram it in wherever I can, never leave the house without headphones and give up on every other media in exchange. I don't really listen to music anymore, rarely read books, don't watch TV anymore, I rarely watch movies at home when I'm alone and it even affects the games I'm playing (for me, open world games are so much better suited for podcasts than narrative-driven games). I do all that and still feel like I don't have enough time to listen to podcasts.

ok i never disagreed with that? and considering the "views" of some of their audience even if it's a boilerplate "sexual harassment is bad and pervasive within the industry and outside it" it's not as if talking about it, even if they don't have an elevated position on it like other outlets, is a bad thing.

I really hope they do a Spoiler Mode for Evil Within 1 AND 2. It would be a pretty great discussion, imo.

Listening to Frame Trap right now and man, this year really is insane - not just the amount and quality of the games we are getting, but also how diverse they are. Crazy.

If anyone follows EZA, you know exactly where they stand when it comes to sexual harassment in the industry. Between the clear disgust displayed at DOAX3, the banning of Beach Peach Splash and the ensuing chaos, Ian's regular championing of women in gaming, and Bradley Ellis moving over to ResetEra, it's blatantly obvious.

What Kyle's refusal to discuss the topic means is that he doesn't care about NeoGaf drama as much as you do. There's nothing wrong with that. But just because he doesn't talk about it doesn't mean EZA doesn't have a stand on the matter. They clearly do.

Honestly, how it comes across is that you want explicit approval from EZA to feel good about making the decision to leave GAF behind, which isn't their job. We all made that call and I wager we all feel good about that decision. I don't need to hear Kyle tell me that I did a good thing because I've already decided that for myself. GAF is bleeding out. The results speak for themselves. Harassment is going to leave your business gutted. Don't do it.

I really like Ben as a host for gaming focused stuff like FT. But I also think Kyle is equally great at hosting a more general gaming podcast like the main one. The main podcast is such a fun listen due to him and Brandon.

Yup. Both hosts are great at what they do for their respective podcasts.

Man, I can't wait for GOTY's, from EZA AND Reset. I hope they consider recording their deliberations off screen if they show a video like last year.

Yeah, according to Blood, there wasn't much of a debate last year. Last Guardian was brought up and people agreed.

This year should be at least a bit of a battle... Unless Mario Fever sweeps through.

I like Ben as a host mostly, but Kyle is on another level for me. After all is said and done, the EZA podcast would be the sole vg media product I would consume if my available time or lack thereof eventually commands it.

Zelda BOTW is either my favourite game of all time, or second. I need time.

I'm not going to not invite anyone to my birthday though, so just avoid it as a topic of conversation ;P

Seriously. I hope Huber fights the good fight for as long as he can with Persona 5, if it's still high on his list by January.

Hopefully Mario wins. Anything but Zelda. And that's the only one that can topple it at EZA. :3

Also going to agree with this. I want Persona 5 to win period, but if it falls to Mario to overthrow Zelda, then so be it lol.

I fully expect Mario to win because hot damn what a good game.

Zelda is a 6/10 game for me.

I feel like lots of people wouldn't invite me to their birthday party. :3

On a serious note, I just realised I have no idea what a bunch of the allies will probably vote for. I think Huber and Ben are likely to vote for Persona 5. Ben did say it depends on how he feels about Divinity: Original Sin 2 when he's done with it iirc, so that's not a lock, either. Kyle and Ian may vote for BotW, but maybe they'll be more enamoured with Odyssey? I have no idea what everyone else will vote for. BotW and Odyssey probably have the biggest chance. I'm happy that BotW and Persona 5 released earlier on in the year. It will give them time to chew on both of those games' pros and cons. They kind of touched on that a bit with BotW's dungeons in today's Frame Trap. Distance allows you to really consider how you feel about a game.

While pondering about progressively falling behind on TTE I had somewhat of an cathartic realization just now.
You see, not keeping up is actually a good thing, because the more I fall behind the longer I will be able to watch TTE in the future...
Maybe it'll be something I can share with my grand-kids some day?
