What's especially interesting is that the Easy Allies youtube account replied to a question about who did the editing and it seems like it was actually Kyle himself. Didn't know he was into editing at all, always figured Don/Ian/Jones were the main folks to do that in the crew.

Kyle edited his Bosman at Home series which was very well put together. Damiani seems to be dabbling in it for Friend Code and Ben tried his hand at it for his Japan series so I think it's very doable for more Allies to produce these kinds of shows from their streams. Have to wonder if this might push Huber and Brad to try it out as well. Editing seems to be the bottleneck for the Allies, so if this gets all of them more comfortable and capable of editing their own reviews/other content in the future, then awesome.

Not that interested in these "Checkin Out" videos if those are just edited regular streams. But if these bring new Patrons, then I'm fine with it. If it's not a big workload and those resources couldn't be used for something more substantial. In example I would prioritize any review over these and I'd rather take Don't Skips too. Both of these are of course more work than "Checking Out" since these require thought and writing too.

Yeah if Kyle, Huber etc. edit these themselves it would be nice. But I would leave editing the reviews to the masters, they are actually really good in what they do.

I'm looking forward to them talking about Labo on the podcast. Their reaction was great, but hopefully by now they've caught wind that you can repair or replace your own broken parts since the design patterns will be free online.

Also, in the Labo reaction: I think Huber was joking and feigning ignorance about them recording their reactions. He was just too excited to not interrupt their recording with Yakuza stuff.

And I can't tell if Kyle at that moment is really amused but feigning frustration, or if he's really frustrated but trying to put on a good face.

Nah, that was legit. Huber never looks at his phone when filming something. They'd just filmed Easy Update and Huber thought they were just watching the video, not putting it on YouTube.

yeah I don't know where this came from. seemingly out of nowhere. but they need to do more of it. like, for every stream. and just break up every podcast too, which they can put out over the course of a few days.
having two or three 10-20 videos up on facebook every day would be a huuuuuuuuuuuuge leap for the channel
Condensed streams would be great but condensed podcasts would really bum me out

Condensed podcasts seems like a weird thing. I don't see the audience for it in the way I do condensed streams.

If they were going to do something like make hotake a stand alone video for Facebook or Twitter I can see how that might potentially reach new audiences.

Yeah, I don't know about "condensing" the podcasts, but it might be cool if they started highlighting a good segment that might appeal to people who don't have the time to watch a 1-2 hour long podcast.

I know Game Informer does this a lot with their podcast, where they'll cut out certain segments and upload them as standalone videos. It would be like if EZA were to cut out a Pop-Tarts/Toaster Strudels segment and upload it as its own video.

At the beginning of the stream Kyle said that it was Ben's idea and that it allows them to cover more games that they wouldn't have the time to cover otherwise. I wouldn't expect to see these kinds of videos for their normal streams. Mostly just for newer games they are interested in but don't intend to review or do a Don't Skip on.

I don't see the point in condensing the podcasts, they're like their main output on the channel. The streams make sense because they don't get a lot of views and they're side stuff mostly.

I agree, but I wouldn't want to limit what the Allies do just because we think the core group of editors are the only ones who can do it. I doubt any of them would take on that load right now but who knows in a few years.

The Super Best Friends also do this, although they mostly let fans just upload audio clips from the podcasts. They only really got into uploading bits of their podcast streams due to some jerks monetizing uploads of their stuff.

lmao Kyle's "okay game.. okay game... okay game" as he mashes through dialogue in Digimon is me for like half the sidequests so far in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Great game but some of that sidequest dialogue... I just can't care.

Echoing the live for this week's Easy Update. It's encouraged me to give Fiasconauts a try also (they're all totally self contained, right? I think I understand the basics of how the game works)

Some great creative stuff coming from the team

While I'd like that too, it would be really hard to do since they mostly stream by themselves.

sure yeah but they do plenty of stuff together. doesn't need to be something huge. maybe stream it one day and the next day do a 15-20 minute thing where they explain it to the other guy. could be done before the group stream or something like that (i don't really know their schedule).

i think it would help the allies to be more current. reviews take a long time but quick looks like that helps them get up a video to a hot topic when it's still fresh.

First of all, Reindeer Academy needs to be a real thing. I need this anime to exist.

Secondly, the condensed stream idea is a great one. Just trying to picture how funny a condensed Beastly stream would have been.

Easy Allies should get in touch with Trigger or Bones and Netflix cause Reindeer Academy has some serious hit potential.

Santa in the final fight: "A believing heart is our magic!"
Haruto: "Too bad...I don't believe anymore-ttebayo"

Oooh. Give me that Bixley fight.

Skiz Jo is the blitzen right?
(Edit: oh no Bixley is a person and blitzen is a rank right? whatever Bixley idk but below is my Skiz Jo fanfic)

I think the way his fight goes down is he's in front of the toy factory's core and the one to face off against him is Himari, the girl that's a great student but has doubts about the whole thing. And basically the whole battle is her finding the determination to go through with all this because she accepts the truths that she and her friends have learned and so she initially has trouble but then she defeats Skiz Jo. Then as she goes to destroy the core, Skiz Jo, who's lying on the ground, sits cross-legged, back straight and says "So...this is your resolve...admirable...soon you will begin to understand the weight of what you are about to do". Himari stops to listen to him and then, without saying anything, destroys the factory's core and leaves. Meanwhile Skiz Jo is still sitting, planning on dying with the factory and you just see him reach in to the inside pocket of his vest, it cuts to black and you hear a sip of hot chocolate and then the sound of the factory exploding, cut to ED.

Btw, in japanese, Skiz Jo is voiced by the guy who does Dio Brando's voice in JoJo. In English, I'm thinking King Bradley from FMAB.

Bixley

is the tall elf. He may or may not actually be human, but he has wood powers so if he is human, there is a mystery on how he got them. Maybe Season 3 has some answers.

I tweeted the guys (and Ian liked it woo) that for reindeer academy, end of season 1
the reindeer with one hoof needs to get reverted, imagine it changing back and then trying to live its no sentient life without a hoof. Sad stuff indeed

Fantastic story though, I would legit love it to be made lol.

It's probably the stream. If you want to find out whether the frame rate holds at 60fps, just wait for Digital Foundry to have a look at it.

I will for sure. But I remember looking a the the trailer a while ago and being like huh, that's not a 16,6ms frame interval right there what's going on? I hope it'll be fine tho, game looks pretty nice.

Watching the Easy Update video, I kept thinking how awesome it would be if they utilized Rudolph in a Nick Fury in Iron Man moment. Sure, their concept of having him in a dark jail cell with his glowing nose was neat, I think it would be awesome if it went like this:

It's a dark room. A main character walks into the room and is startled when someone (Rudolph) speaks.
Rudolph's Voice: Something about entering the fight, blah blah blah.
Character: Who are you? Reveal yourself!
The nose lights up. It's all you see. The camera focuses on the face of the character. It's bathed in a red light glow. His (or her) eyes open wide. Cut to black.

Also, this is due to the popularity of Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer, but Donner is actually the incorrect name. In the poem, A Visit from St. Nicholas (aka The Night Before Christmas) we are first introduced to the reindeer. Donner is called Donder there. It's why he's paired with Blitzen. Thunder and Lightning.
