Took my VEN and WTC off binance to MEW.

My question is, VEN is moving off of ERC20 at which point it wont be supported by MEW. So the official wallet will be out before that I assume, and it is imperitive to move it before the switch off erc20?

If this is how VEN is now while the market is down, I can only imagine what it'll be like as things go back up.

So what's the general consensus with tether here? Scam FOR SURE? Unavoidable crash coming? Panic for no reason?

It's going to go up in flame for sure. It will effect the market for sure. How large of an effect is really the only thing in question. Big dip? Or the literal destruction and closure of all exchanges that list Tether resulting in massive losses for every trader that has coins on an exchange?

There's a huge gulf in between those two. Its impossible to know until it happens.

I bought more VEN this morning, when everything is on decline it's climbing like a madman. Think what happens when the market is overall positive.

Crazy.

It's over, period. Crypto lost their last ace, and that's the end of their BTC hopes and dreams. It's not hyperbole, it's not fanboy drivel. It is LITERALLY it for LTC. DASH has nothing left, nothing they can reveal tomorrow would fix the hole now created. There is no reason left for any one, hardcore or casual, to substantively invest in a ETH. Except if they want smart contracts. Which will also come to VEN at some point. The age of crypto is done.

I wonder if I can call this. VEN looking similar to how VTC did last year during the bear market. Where everything was red, then one coin had a 3 day sustained green against all the red, and a ton of people jumped on to it like a lifeboat looking for gains on day 4 causing another large spike (but also a lot of people ended up buying the relative top). There's a lot of new traders since December, this has to be their first major prolonged bear period, Im thinking many will have weak hands and sell out of their current holdings at losses to jump on the "lifeboat" today or tomorrow.

Wasn't there someone here last week here who accumulated 10k VEN (at 3,5 € or something)? Probably gained 30k € already.

At least one person here has 10k VEN. Unfortunately not me. If VEN reaches its full potential of over $100, that person will be a millionaire.

So there's this coin called CryptoCarbon, and they're giving away 5 dollars worth of CCRB for every signup (email and name) plus another 10 for every referral, which you can which you can withdraw into CEX exchange. It's some sort of cashback/alternative payment for online shops. Apparently doesn't need miners either. Scam or not... hey they are giving free coins.
https://ccrb.io/

Edit: Nevermind, they have a minimum 40 dollar withdrawal.

I wished I had put up more in VEN then I did, but that is always afterwards. Like I wished I didn't go into ADC, which is currently at a 50% loss for me..... I hope that at some time it goes a bit up so I can sell at a smaller loss but so far it doesn't seem to have found its bottom level :/

The Discord has a bunch of 10k VEN members. I won't name them because they might not want to be named but there are more than one. I'm up a lot more than 30k. Over 60% of my Ven was bought under $4

I did sell part of my altcoins at a loss to strenghten my VEN position. Though most of those alts were purchased from profits in the previous period.

Dunno if that makes me weak :P. I'm still holding fairly large amounts of XBY, FLASH and ADC.

What kind of vague drivel is this?

Did exactly the same! Already held some VEN, bought around €2, so that's nice.

I'm down a lot on ADC, XBY and Flash though. I'll just keep hodling and hope for the best. I have faith in XBY, Flash as well, but don't know about ADC. We'll see.

Not yet, but I think it's a likely bet that a year from now it will be

Ehhh...not gonna get too far ahead of myself. Ven might just end up stalling at $30. Some of the more optimistic projections have it set at $100 to as high as $400 by EOY 2018.

I used to browse r/Ethtrader back in the day on reddit quite a bit. Back when it was about $10-50. One of the common things I noticed between the biggest ETH holders at the time wasn't that they just dropped 50k on Ethereum. They were early Bitcoin adopters who didn't quite buy enough Bitcoin to retire early but they bought enough to build up a large base of capital to be able to invest in projects like Ethereum.

That's my story with Ethereum. Got in early but didn't buy enough to retire early and by the time it hit $1000, it was too late. Instead I built a stack large enough to fund big potential life changing investments on things like Vechain.

Again a bunch of IOTA stolen from ppl who generated their seed online with iotaseed.io.
People so lazy to use their head or use a password generator from KeePass and other PW managers, that they trust an online site to generate a "safe" seed password....

Be careful with VEN. You'll want to take your profits out well before Tethergate. If you have to wait for alarm bells to trade VEN -> BTC -> USD it'll already be too late.

Take out some money now so that you're not left with jack shit but I think VEN is as safe a bet as any crypto. Which may mean nothing.

I'm not sure what to do with my portfolio now since the recent VEN gains. Now VEN is almost 50% of my total portfolio, and I'm conflicted whether I should cash out and rebalance, if I should just hold, or if I should invest even more in VEN if it dips some time in the coming days.

Besides VEN I have XLM, XRP, XRB, REQ plus some small holdings in QLC, ADC and PRL.

What's your take on this?

Look at VEN's partnerships / customers and its current market cap. If you think it's fairly valued right now, rebalance.

Personally, I feel like VEN is still far from where it should be but that's just me.

Well, I fully agree, I still think VEN has a good way to go, hence why im considering buying more. But at the same time, it's not like I don't think XRP, XLM, REQ and XRB are going places as well.

Yup. That's what I'm thinking, too.

A week ago during the mini-crash, people flocked to GAS because it was the only coin in the green on Poloniex (also with a stable future outlook with NEO). The big correction for GAS still happened, just a bit later.

Doesn't mean VEN won't go up further eventually. Same with NEO and GAS.
