Generally they don't make audio versions of their group streams, but not sure if they'll make an exception for GOTY deliberations. Maybe Bloodworth can clarify since a few people have asked.
I really wish they would, if it means anything. I'd love to hear it and multitask, which is how I enjoy their content, but I'm not going to watch an 8 hour stream. If not this year, I hope next year they could.
Enjoyed watching the Monster Hunter stream. It's a series I've always been interested in but could never get past the controls on 3DS. It's lovely having this nice hd footage. As someone who only has a Switch I guess I'll be experiencing this one vicariously through the Allies.
I've been thinking of doing the same. At first I wasn't considering it because I thought he was only playing 2 and I haven't even played the first game, but once he said that he was playing both, I started thinking about it. I've been meaning to play this series for almost a decade now, and I guess now wouldn't be a bad time to do it.
It's how I finally moved Paper Mario off the backlog. Had that game since it first came out but his stream got me motivated to finish it. I'd play enough to be able to watch the next stream. Great game
I played most of it during work on youtube, but I didn't really "watch" it and it was just playing in the background. Some moments of it I opened it in Opera which can create a popout Window of the video's and I had it as a very small window in the botton right corner of the screen.
I was able to do my work without a problem during that.
Otherwise, you could rip the audio as mp3 (see Hasney's link). I have created an mp3 with youtube-dl myself because people were asking about it, but I don't want to upload it without permission from EZA. But a website like the one Hasney linked should work fine as well (and is more userfriendly than youtube-dl as that is a commandline program).
I'm trying to play it off my phone, so I can listen as I drive/play games, etc. The link hasney gave won't make an MP3 of a youtube video that big. I downloaded an M4A of it but I don't know if my phone will play it or if I can even get it there. I know I can eventually but its a bit of a hassle when I'd rather just open Pocket Casts. :P
I use this program to download YouTube videos, and it can also convert them into mp3s while doing so. It works great and is easy to use, I just tested and it will work with the GotY discussions video.

I am DYING. This is so funny. I've only listened to like half of the Fiasconauts episode this came from, but it's still killing me.
Okay, seriously, this needs to become a regular thing because that was absolutely fantastic.
That old ass feeling Persona 5 also happens to be a pretty pretty good video game, dawg.
Oh I know, I played it for over 100 hours. It also controls like a PS2 game, has a very predicable story and uses nearly ever single anime cutscene to show some boobs.

No it doesnt. It has one of the best menus in any rpg, period. It's so easy to find what your looking for 99% of the time (except for items in battle.) I loved how all of the actions were so well mapped out to different buttons. It made turn based combat feel quick.
Everything else you said I agree with you on. Wouldn't call the story predictable but it was pretty cliche.
Thank you. Damiani wants other fighting games that have nothing to do with this brand new one on the Switch, not even KoF XIV, SNK's current flagship game. Kyle starting a cute discussion on whether this jiggle fest women only spin off is meant to be sexy or not. All that time spent and they didn't even mention the best/only good thing about the game: the Fatal Cutie hat that comes with the special edition.

I enjoyed the award discussions, had to skip the first few hours of the GOTY talk. The only part I didn't like were genre awards. They felt like they were only there to award certain games that wouldn't cut it in other categories, especially since they had only a few genres and they made up a genre (best side-scroller? really??). I'll talk best narrative and art direction over those.

Kyle edited his brief home show, so he probably did it himself. That's just a basic collection of stream highlights put together, but done quite well, so I imagine he's edited it himself.
Between Ben and Damiani getting some editing in I believe, it's only Huber and Brad that aren't editing. Saves Jones, Ian and Don for the bigger pieces.
15 mins in and my hype for Box Peek has already increased tenfold. I'd watch this show.
I like them a lot too. Normally I watch the streams and skip around a bit but this works a lot better. Especially since Kyle doesn't do reviews.

Condensed streams are great. I haven't checked this one out but that's what i wanted for a year now. I would love it if they were more in the style of GB quick looks where one ally shows of a game to another and explains it but this is a good start.

yeah I don't know where this came from. seemingly out of nowhere. but they need to do more of it. like, for every stream. and just break up every podcast too, which they can put out over the course of a few days.

Nice. Edited down videos and/or best of videos is one of the areas I think we've all wanted to see. Based on the video title and game streamed my guess is this will only be done for the occasional one off game stream. Sort of like an edited down first 15/quick look type of deal. Given the work to do that editing and the crew they have I'd be surprised if they did it for most of their streams since a lot of them are full playthroughs, Ben's dojo, or daminais unable to sleep random streams that pop up.
Will be interesting to see what Jones says in the next cup of jones. But this seems to be the result of the team meeting last week they had

This is really cool to see. I dropped by the stream for a short time yesterday but it's cool to have a sort of highlight reel video that's a lot more easily digestible.
What's especially interesting is that the Easy Allies youtube account replied to a question about who did the editing and it seems like it was actually Kyle himself. Didn't know he was into editing at all, always figured Don/Ian/Jones were the main folks to do that in the crew.
Love the Checkin' Out concept. I have to imagine that it wasn't too difficult or time-consuming to edit, basically Kyle scrubbing through and picking out what he thought were the stand-out moments. My only criticism would be maybe intro'ing the game better at the beginning so as to give people who've never played Digimon or whatever a basic idea of what the game is.
All in all, I hope they do more of these for all kinds of stuff because as much as I love their content, it's almost all in 1-2 hour chunks and that can be overwhelming for me and others with lives. And I hope this encourages them to play more random games on stream to try stuff out.
