It was a listing last year that pegged it at March.Wasn't there information pointing towards a physical release at some point? I'd love to jump in on day one, but if there's a chance to get a game card I'm definitely holding off until that comes along.
Oh, that's what it was! Thanks for looking it up for me. I'd take a march release if that turns out to be accurate. Got too many games to play right now anyway. It was a listing last year that pegged it at March.

Randomness is rarely the problem, unless you get super unlucky. The much bigger problem is that many others don't run away/cancel the mission when they should and taking huge risks as a result. Not seeing the value in this without the DLC added, it just feels wrong to me. I haven't played the game but I heard the randomness is extremely frustrating hope it does okay though.
Everything in this game is a calculated risk, including that (since you are more likely to develop bad Quirks that way).Randomness is rarely the problem, unless you get super unlucky. You can pay to remove them right? How manageable is thatEverything in this game is a calculated risk, including that (since you are more likely to develop bad Quirks that way).
Any news about the controls? PS4 was a nightmare. Does it use the touch screen?
I too would like to know if it is recommended to buy the dlc at the star. I only played the game during EA when it came out.
No review so far, and I don't think we can expect any before the release date proper. So, sadly, it may be a better idea to hold on your purchase and wait for people's opinions. I'm curious to see if the touch-screen works, it would make party management easier.
A lot agree that the DLC can be a little hard at the beginning. It also introduces a new mechanic which may be a tad annoying to handle when you discover the game. Thanksfully, I think you can activate the DLC on your current save whenever you want.
Red Hook Studios says that Darkest Dungeon on Switch will support both touchscreen and standard controls, and will cost $24.99 USD, as is the case on Steam and PSN.
I mean, this is what it costs across platforms. It also goes on sale on occasion so I am sure you will get it later. I especially understand for those who'll be double or triple dipping.
Not at this levels here yet, but I am already seeing People act like A: Porting is free / low cost and B: Devs shouldn't charge for what they believe what their software is worth.
that sounds great
looks like Giant Bomb has a long quick look for it, I'll check that out later today
for those that want to see it
One can sometimes find clarity in madness, but only rarely…
Awesome! But I'm used to seeing the game for $10, so I'm going to wait.

How were they a nightmare? I'm tempted to get it on sale on the PSN store.
Please, tell where I said they couldn't discuss it, in fact I was joining the discussion. I believe I was making a point about their points some of the false equivalencies.price is always a valid point of discussion.
this is an games enthusiast forum, of course we're gonna talk pricing.
personally, I wish they threw all the DLC on there and charged $30.
Yes, dungeons are super boring. Don't buy it if you want a dungeon explorer game or you will be disappointed.I'm really interested in the game except for procedurally generated dungeons. Sounds like the dungeons are probably dull as sin.
Y/n/m?
The dungeons themselves aren't the focus, the challenges inside are. They can get relatively big with many twists and turns but you're always shown walking in a straight line.I'm really interested in the game except for procedurally generated dungeons. What makes Darkest Dungeon on the Switch ideal isn't just the touch controls, but being able to switch between touch screen controls and the Joy-Con at will. There are times when using a controller to navigate your options just make more sense. In the dungeon, you can select which room you're going to by flicking a direction on the right stick, and then move your party forward by pushing the left stick. But if you see a trap or need to loot something, you can switch right into using the touch screen.
Seems to be the same price? That's expensive. Glad I bought it on Steam.
Great game though and fits portable gameplay perfectly.
Tips: always be extra careful and never too cocky. But at the same time hit hard because that's the best strategy. Long battles WILL get your party whipped.
